Signing up for AFF as a non-author
WillowDarkling replied to WillowDarkling's topic in Aimless Babble
Yeah, well he has to... can't write to save his life! Even essays for school were a painful read when I was beta-ing for him... just painful. Found out the other day, he can't even describe a coconut... even with instructions it still sucked! -
Signing up for AFF as a non-author
WillowDarkling replied to WillowDarkling's topic in Aimless Babble
Thanks Melrick. I'll check that out. And make sure he reads all the rules. I promise -
So, as with my previous post, I just found out that I've been breaking the rules by responding to reviews in the review section. Feeling horribly bad about that, I decided to open this topic in the forum, and hope that some of my readers will use it. So, here is a topic for my current story, the one that's being written as we speak... so to speak... wow, that was a bad joke. Polinues Marines, the would be mage. Warnings: Abuse, Anal, Angst, BDSM, Bi, B-Mod, Bond, Death, D/s, H/C, HJ, Humil, Language, M/F, M/M, Minor, N/C, OC, Oral, Preg, Rim, Spank, Violence, Voy, VS, WD, WIP. It's basically the pre-story for two of the main characters from my novel, the way I wish I could publish it. If it ever gets published I'm going to have to cut down on all that smut... (the horror!!) Anyway, I've got a couple of dedicated readers, and now I hope I'll get the chance to express my gratitude to them.

Hey guys. I found a post a while back that I'm pretty sure addressed this issue, but now I can't remember where it was. So, maybe one of you can answer me, or point me in the general direction. The content of the post, was basically (I hope I'm remembering this correctly) that you can sign up to AFF as a non-author, in order to write reviews for stories. But in order to do so, you have to go through some process, like contact admin, and what not. I really need to find this, so if anyone knows what I'm talking about, please, please help me. Thanks in advance.

I've been working on a story now for two months, and I've got one dedicated reader that makes me "Squee" again and again. I have another dedicated reader who doesn't review as often but her reviews are no less squee-worthy. This story is a reworking of another story, and this reader had read the original, and expressed an interest in reading the whole story. Here is the story: Polinues Marines, the would be mage It's much more detailed than the original, and started when the main character was just a baby, so it's a growing up story, on top of everything else. Most of the reviews are the standard, "the story is so great!" but very articulate and use proper grammar (usually) and I love getting each one, after posting almost every single chapter. A couple of the reviews Kylee has written: This one made me squee so bad, my hubby thought I'd finally lost it completely: The thing is that I know I'm a pretty decent writer, because I've been told so for so long, but having someone out there in the "Big World" tell me is twenty times more fun than having hubby say it. I only hope that I can continue to write this good.

Thank you so much, DemonGoddess. I think I'll be a naughty little soldier for now and move it to Originals, if you don't mind. If it doesn't fare any better there, I'll move it back... if you guys don't get to it first. And thanks again for the help.

Hey, DemonGoddess... I'm sorry for bothering you again with this, but... I was wondering if I could move my story "Polinues, the would be mage" from Fantasy>Slash to Original-misc>slash? My one dedicated reader has asked me more than once if I shouldn't, and I would like to if it's allowed. And I've noticed that there are a couple of (what I would consider) fantasy stories in the Original-misc>slash category. It is a fantasy story, set in a world of my own creation, with gods and vampires, and magical people, but nothing too extravagant. There are no dragons or stuff like that, and the world is a sort of medieval setting (castles and horses and no electricity) I wanted to ask you first, so I wouldn't break the rules, and also to ask if I can do it myself, or if you have to do it. Sorry again for bothering you with this, and thank you for your help. oh, and the link to the story is this: http://original.adult-fanfiction.org/story.php?no=600101353

Brilliant ideas both of them... Canterro Thank you so much. Figures that I had never thought about stuff like bedrock or crystals as solid earth... it makes perfect sense. Oil and gasses are really cool too. Does anyone know, tar is a natural occurrence isn't it? I mean, like the tar pits in the U.S.? And what kinds of deadly gasses occur naturally? Honestly, I stick with the three division because I couldn't think of anything smarter... It also seemed like a logical division, because of the fifth element. Clover Reef. Thank you so much, as well. And yes, I'm looking for input to complete the list, and to get ideas what others think makes sense. Thanks for your ideas, they're smarter than most of what I've come up with. Do you know of any kinds of acid that occur naturally? Darn it, I foresee a long Sunday on a well known informations site... I know, solid air!! Come on... I'm pretty sure I'm a bit more crazy than I thought Thanks again, both of you... and please keep the ideas coming...

Hey, everyone. I've been here for only a month, and I'm not really an active poster, but I've been on AFF for nearly two years. I tend to write in spurts, i.e. I write constantly for a week or a month, and then get stuck for weeks or months at a time. But, anywho...now I want to ask all of you for a little help. Hoping that there are some science geeks out there that might find this a fun challenge, So, here goes. I've been creating this fantasy novel for the past fourteen years, (yes, I said 14). It all started as just one character, but now it's grown into ten characters, four supporting characters, and dozens of extras. And one world! It sort of took on a life of its own... So what I need help with is this: A major plot element in the story, is a race known as the Aaenda. They are sort of like demigods. They are seven, and each of them controls one of the elements, (earth, air, fire, water) and the fifth element (spirit) is divided between the remaining three. Their powers are bound in these disks (one for each element), that have been broken into three pieces each, and therefore the Aaenda don't have their full power. Once the disks are put back together the Aaenda regain their full power. (i.e. if the disk of Water is put together, the Aaenda who controls water, regains her full strength) Spirit is divided between three people because when all three aspects are combined they make a whole person. And also because all three aspects are never purely evil or purely good, and can always be persuaded either way. So, each disk is split into three pieces, each representing one aspect of the element. But since only Water has three aspects, I need some help with the other elements. If anyone here is willing to help, I'd so greatly love the advice. The list that I have is as follows: (as pointed out below, by Clover Reef, I need help completing this list, and I'm looking for any sort of input on what sounds good/makes any sort of sense) EARTH gas: liquid: solid: >earth >>bedrock, crystals AIR gas: >air liquid: solid: FIRE gas: >>flames (according to Canterro) liquid: >>lava solid: WATER gas: >steam liquid: >water solid: >ice SPIRIT gas: >soul liquid: >heart solid: >mind So, if anyone has any ides, or wants to discuss this, I'd love the feedback. And I promise, that anyone who gives me solid, well thought out ideas, and helps me make this happen... I will write down your screen name and give you acknowledgments if and when my novel is published. That's a promise. Thanks all of you, WillowDarkling.

From Iceland, we'd like it back now, please!! How come we (the public) have to pay, and not the rich f**kers who tanked the countries economy? -
Haha, silly me... I'm one of those computeretarded folks, you see... Thank you very much, and story has been moved...

Hey. I'm re-uploading my story in the Original-Fantasy > Male/Male, category, because the main pairing of the story will eventually be two men. (and I hope I understood the rules right that, that is the correct location for the story, because of that main pairing) I would like only the ratings and such from the older post to be moved, and not the entire story, if it's not too much of an inconvenience. I really hope I'm doing this right... Well, the story is "Polinues Marines, the would be mage", and this is the location of the first upload, in Original-Fantasy > General http://original.adult-fanfiction.org/story.php?no=600101353 And here is the new upload: http://original.adult-fanfiction.org/story.php?no=600101391 Thank you for your assistance.

Hey. Self promotion. I feel like such an idiot for doing this, but I'm getting a little frustrated that the hit count on my stories keeps going up, but I hardly get any reviews at all. It makes me feel like I really am that bad... Plus it does say in the rules that I can promote my own story. So, I want to bring these stories to your attention. And if you're interested, and maybe if you are so inclined to give me a review. Or at the very least rate the story, so I know it doesn't totally suck. And yes, these stories are mine, I go by DarklingWillow on AFF. #1. Title: The five important numbers of my life. Author: DarklingWillow Rating: NC-17. Summary: This is a long, stream of conscience type of story. In it a young man recalls the five most important numbers in his life, and all that went with them. Love, loss, fear, happiness, and everything in between. Anal, Angst, AU/AR, Bi, COMPLETE, Death, HJ, Language, M/M, OC, Oral, Other. Fandom: Original-Misc > Slash-Male/Male. URL or Site link: http://original.adult-fanfiction.org/story.php?no=600100797 #2. Title: My Sweet Ilithil. Author: DarklingWillow Rating: NC-17. Summary: This story is now complete. Ok, this is the latest story, it's still a work in progress, but I really want some feedback on this one. It's an Original as well. It's a group of one shots, focused on two of the main characters from my novel (see Author's notes). These one shots are pretty much PWP (but not entirely) and therefore far too raunchy to ever make it into the final copy of said novel. But the focus of the stories is their relationship, how it came to be, why it turned the way it did, etc. Anal, Angst, Bi, B-Mod, H/C, HJ, Language, M/M, Minor, OC, Oral, Rim, VS, WIP Fandom: Fantasy > Slash- Male/Male. URL or Site link: http://original.adult-fanfiction.org/story.php?no=600101261 #5. Title: Polinues Marines, the would be mage. Author: DarklingWillow Rating: NC - 17 Summary: This is a re-working of the story above, that's why I'm putting it here. Here you get the full story of Leyjen and Polinues, from the very beginning. Leyjen is a maid's son, Polinues is a knight's son. They are raised together, they go to the Temples as mentor and student. They know they shouldn't be together... but how can they resist? URL or Site link: http://original.adult-fanfiction.org/story.php?no=600101353 #3. Title: The vast beauty of your creation. Author: DarklingWillow Rating: NC - 17 Summary: Ok, this one is pretty hard to summarize. It's a one shot, where Draco and Lucius enjoy a moment together... or do they? (Enter dramatic music here) Abuse, Anal, BDSM, Bond, COMPLETE, D/s, Humil, Inc, M/M, Oneshot, PWP Fandom: Harry Potter > Slash - Male/Male > Draco/Lucius URL or Site link: http://hp.adult-fanfiction.org/story.php?no=600017547 #4. Title: Nightmares. Author: DarklingWillow. Rating: NC - 17. Summary: Well, I can't summarize this one much, without giving away the whole plot. But it's focused on Draco, and Draco must contend with some of his nightmares. This one is more of a shi**y first draft than a story. The idea came to me once, when reading a review for another story. The reviewer was complaining about something, and the idea popped into my head, to grant her wish. Where I read this review or when I've completely forgotten. I've already gotten a review for this one, and it was so nice that I'm considering continuing this story, but I'm not sure where it wants to go. Abuse, Anal, Angst, AU/AR, Contro, Inc, M/M, Minor, N/C, Oneshot, WIP Fandom: Harry Potter > Slash - Male/Male > Draco/Lucius URL or Site link: http://hp.adult-fanfiction.org/story.php?no=600024213 I have one more story lying around on AFF, but I don't feel right promoting it, but if you like my other stuff you can find it through my author page. Now thank you very much for reading my (shameless self-)promotion, and I hope that you will find something here that you like. If that is the case I look forward to reading your reviews. Sincerely, WillowDarkling.

Hey. I'm not absolutely sure if the fic I'm looking for is on AFF, but I'm hoping it is, or at least someone else has read it and knows where to find it... or not find it. Anyways, I've forgotten the title and the name of the author, but here's what I remember. It was an AU/AR story, centered around Danny Messer. Danny was a street boy (adult not underaged) and made his living by selling himself. He got into some trouble with the police, and one particular police officer started abusing his power over Danny, by forcing him to have sex. I think the eventual pairing of the story was either Danny/Flack, or Danny/Mac, where the latter person "saved" Danny. I never got to finish that story, only managed the first couple of chapters before I lost it, but I'd love to find it again, and finish it. It was a very well written story, with good characters and the author managed keep Danny in character most of the time. Thanks for the help.

I guess I'm not quite as bad as I thought I was... but I've always known that not believing in the Christian God would get me sent to Hell..... Wow, that's going to keep me confused for a while. EDIT: Just did the test again, and apparently I'm still a little lust slut... Second Level of Hell You have come to a place mute of all light, where the wind bellows as the sea does in a tempest. This is the realm where the lustful spend eternity. Here, sinners are blown around endlessly by the unforgiving winds of unquenchable desire as punishment for their transgressions. The infernal hurricane that never rests hurtles the spirits onward in its rapine, whirling them round, and smiting, it molests them. You have betrayed reason at the behest of your appetite for pleasure, and so here you are doomed to remain. Cleopatra and Helen of Troy are two that share in your fate. Must admit though, that line "it molests them" sounds sort of intriguing... Here is how you matched up against all the levels: Level | Score Purgatory | Repenting Believers | Very Low Level 1 - Limbo | Virtuous Non-Believers | Very Low Level 2 | Lustful | Extreme Level 3 | Gluttonous | High Level 4 | Prodigal and Avaricious | High Level 5 | Wrathful and Gloomy | Very High Level 6 - The City of Dis | Heretics | Very High Level 7 | Violent | Very High Level 8- the Malebolge | Fraudulent, Malicious, Panderers | Very High Level 9 - Cocytus | Treacherous | Moderate Level descriptions: http://www.4degreez....nformation.html Take the test: http://www.4degreez....inferno-test.mv

Hi, Willow Darkling here... go by Darkling Willow on AFF. Shy, introverted, dreamer. Writer. I usually just hang around my own profile on AFF waiting for my stories to either decide they want some work done, or I find some mistake that needs correcting. If I'm not there I'm usually loitering around the original, Harry Potter (I suffer from a very bad case of Malfoy fever), or the Supernatural sections. (Yes, awesome-ness in my world is measured in units of Dean, and if that doesn't make sense to you, you probably don't follow Supernatural much. ) I only have four stories up as of yet. Other than that, I don't have a whole lot to say... other than hi, maybe.
