  1. A couple of questions: What’s the pen name you use in the archive? Are you trying the login from the main page? https://www.adult-fanfiction.org/
  2. I’m glad it finally worked!
  3. Are you trying to access the site from the main page? https://www.adult-fanfiction.org/
  4. I’m showing your account as not having been reactivated after the last software upgrade. Try starting from the home page here: https://www.adult-fanfiction.org/ If you are able to get past the age verification, you’ll need to request the activation link to be sent to you.
  5. You all are making me miss my IBM PC XT, with its blazing fast 8088 CPU, 64k of RAM, and that spanky 10MB hard drive. And talk about operating systems? MS-DOS, baby! (I blew up 2 XTs and an AT before they gave me a PS 2, guaranteed not to faint under pressure.)
  6. Hi! Apologies to Jashley for somewhat hijacking his thread, but… The home page of the archive is headed “Latest News” which is also linked to the Site Announcements on the forums. I think the cookies issue as far as losing everything is valid. Chrome (my browser of choice) used to allow me to delete specific cookies. It may well still do so, but I just threw in the towel and deleted everything. As far as the historical cache, Chrome differentiates between browsing history and cached images and files. I deleted the cached materials, but not the browsing history, and I was able to log in. I just had to do it a couple of times, because I was also in and out of the beta version, which was also setting cookies and cacheing files. When browsing in incognito mode, the browser will not allow cookies to be saved, so that’s why we ask that you turn off incognito mode until you’ve logged in and set the new site cookies. Once you’ve logged in, you can go back to incognito mode. I don’t know if this helps, but I do hope it will at least clarify.
  7. Incognito mode is a browser setting. You would need to go into your setting on Chrome itself, and make sure you are not browsing in incognito mode. I would also recommend allowing third party cookies for the moment until you have logged in. You can turn them off again after you’ve accepted the AFF cookies at login. It’s also possible that any ad blockers you might be using could be causing an issue. You might consider whitelisting AFF on your ad blockers, or turning them off until you’ve logged in for the first time.
  8. If you haven’t closed the browser and restarted it, you should do so. If you have closed and restarted the browser, and still can’t access the site, you can try using CTRL + F5 to force a reload of the browser. That may clear up the issue and ensure the cache and cookies are properly deleted.
  9. I think all of us on staff feel the same way about the site. It’s a home online for us all, and we all want to make this site a haven for our members. We all have each other’s backs, and honestly, I can’t imagine not being a part of AFF. And that goes for all our members, too. I’ve gotten to know some of you, and I thoroughly enjoy feeling like I can make friends here like all of you.
  10. I’m showing you as needing to reactivate. I don’t know if this is a function of the update or not, but if you haven’t cleared your cache and cookies for all time, that might also be an issue. (This is the step I frequently forget, and DG is kind enough not to laugh at me for it.)
  11. I completely agree! I write a lot of original work, and I love knowing it will be out there proudly.
  12. Originals is now showing for me as a separate dropdown link, right before Fan Fiction which has all the other subdomains.
  13. I've cleared my cache and cookies, and had the same issue. I finally got to the sign-in page, and cannot sign in, which rather puts a damper on things. I can, however, sign in from the Beta.
  14. I have some that are one-shots, and some that sort of turned into a sort of series over the years. But even those are able to stand alone. So now I have a little project after the rollout!
  15. This may be a setting on your web browser. I would start there and see if an auto-translate feature has been turned on by default. I opened a French fiction, and although my browser does auto-translate at least one language, it did not try to translate the French to English. If that’s not the case, perhaps clearing your cache and refreshing the page will reset it properly to display in French.
