Thank you, BronxWench! Back in the day, Elrond loved Thranduil's domination and mastery of him, but I don't think he's a true masochist. Thranduil is, and Elrond is going to find that very strange, but fascinating to play with. Having said that, the great thing about elves is that they live for bloody ages, so even writing this part, it almost feels like I'm still waiting for everything to settle. And it will. Soon, Elrond is going to lose Celebrían, and he'll need a friend and a lover, not a master (or even a submissive). I have had the argument written in dialogue form since I began this ten years ago. I've had several computers since then, and the document has kept being transferred on. I just need to add the shading and atmosphere. Might be at least a week, though, until I update. It's such an important event, and I want to do it as well as I can.

Thank you, Bronx! There are many more games to come, I think. This will go deep. Elrond is doing well. Thranduil is far more master of himself than he appears, and I think Elrond realises that. Once I have finished with evil cliffhangers, I'll let Elrond remember that argument, and a few things should slot into place (if you haven't already figured it all out from the hints).

Chapter 28: Elrond and Thranduil spend some time together. I really enjoyed writing this one, and I feel like I've been waiting to write it forever. If you read, I hope you enjoy it too!

Thank you, so much, for this wonderful review! I have to say, that line almost didn't make it in past the final read through, so I'm glad I left it there now and didn't replace it. And at last, I've got a set up that means I can have Elrond do Thranduil every which way. For days... maybe weeks. I might even get the chance to throw in some Elrond/Legolas. I'm really looking forward to the future in this too though. I will not go against canon: Thranduil will stay in Mirkwood during the War of the Ring. But I love his character, and I get tired of seeing him be uncaring and uninvolved and manipulative all the time. I will make him into a hero of the war, as much as Elrond is, or Legolas. Ha! He's going to hate it, and the loss of Gollum will probably devastate him. I envisage him berating himself a lot. i.e. “You had one job!” Sorry, just rambling on a bit. But I adore writing this, so I'm always glad when it turns out to be readable.

Ahh... that was fantastic, and amazingly hot. My laugh out loud moments: ... that would put most girls off. Outside Wisconsin. “Let me help. She probably deserves to die just for writing in the second person.” I'm really interested to see your next update now (after the Willow thing, of course), and how this all plays in to the You! story. Awesome work!

Ha! And I have found it, so I'll read it now. *settles happily* That's an added bonus I didn't expect. I am so interested in how that will turn out. It is a tough challenge. Thank you, Bronx! I'm quite sure Tolkien would not approve of my take on his elves, espcially their multiplicity as regards love and fidelity, but if it leads to lovely dreams, then I'm very happy. Next chapter is looking decidedly creepy and atmospheric, I'm afraid. Elrond goes east with Thranduil and Legolas. No, they won't be up to any shenanigans on the way. At least, not unless I write a one-off AU chapter. I'll see if I can resist... or not.

But first, quite a bit of dominant!Elrond to play with. I think the dynamic will work, but I've begun deliberately gentle. Elrond will settle into it, and I'm sure Thranduil will enjoy every single second. He's been wanting this for, well, ever. Poor sod. And another. I don't know why, but I'm being compelled to spend my days writing, and it feels great Enjoy! This is deliberately light. No doubt Elrond is going to return with Thranduil. That's where the toys are. And Legolas, of course... Elrond is going to be extremely busy. Again. Oropher is probably laughing his head off somewhere.

Thank you so much for this review too lol @ elves' subtlety. I think Thranduil believed a letter would be a cold way to give the news. Also, once Legolas had realised something was wrong, he couldn't have trusted him not to read. They're very formal with each other, right now, I think. Dom!Elrond is going to happen. It will be interesting, no doubt. But, he's ordered Thranduil around before... it might just be a revelation to him how much he enjoys it. And there'll be visits to Mirkwood now, so more Elrond/Legolas too. Oh, Thranduil/Celeborn. I suspect that Galadriel would know about it all. She has that wacky mirror. I think she's allowing Celeborn to “comfort” Thranduil for now. Besides that, I intend to tell Elrond's story right though to his departure from Middle Earth, and a short few notes about the arrivals in Valinor after that. Some notes on the canon: Celeborn renames Mirkwood with Thranduil after the War of the Ring, and goes on to live in Imladris after the departure of Elrond and Galadriel. He lives with Elladan and Elrohir (maybe he's waiting for them to get tired of killing orcs or something and leave with him, as if he's watching over them as a favour to Elrond. I'm including Thranduil there in my mind, though I won't be writing it). As for Legolas, he crosses the sea with Gimli in the end. I think, those things considered, it'll all wrap up rather nicely, though obviously Arwen is lost to her father forever. :/

Thank you so much! I'm really glad that the concurrent events of the rape and the rescue made sense. It melted my brain, but I was also writing fluffy Elrond stuff so I think that might have had something to do with it. The change in intent, tone and atmosphere, and the language use between the two was torture. Still, the muse is wide awake, so I'm happy. As I said to JayDee, the romantic, dreamy version was first, and it took a while for me to pry its fingers off (even its dead fingers). I think the suicide fits, especially with it being a kind of automatic action rather than a considered one by Kathy. It's almost as if that was waiting for her too, all along.

I can't write poety to save my life, I'll take poetic grace as a compliment and run off with it happily - thank you Ah, I wanted the letters to become more forgiving too, but the two of them would not have it. As bad as each other they are. At least it's a good hint of that argument. The full revelation will be along later on. That's been mostly written for quite a while. I'm so glad you enjoyed it.

Will I ever finish this story? I might. The next chapter is mostly written, and I am still writing. But for now, there is a new chapter. What happened between Elrond and Thranduil? Maybe some things are clearer here.
