I'm aware of this. This is why I need to generate a site map, so it crawls the subdomains as well.

Google actually does crawl this site, daily. Something to enhance the performance of it is to generate a sitemap, which is on my VERY long to-do list. As I'm in the middle of doing more work stuff (and have been for a month solid), the RL stuff has to and always does take precedence

Okay, here's the deal. All the answers to this topic which are argumentative in nature are deleted. This topic is locked.

We don't ban them when this happens, the author is deleted and allowed to return at 18 years of age or older. I HAVE had to put a permanent ban on I think three minors who refused to stay away, but considering how many I've deleted in three years, that's really nothing.

The other thing I've found is that the ratings are often misleading. In that, they're not a true reflection of the readability and/or quality of the story.

That's not the point here. The POINT is, we don't allow this because you're being DISRESPECTFUL to our users. If you really want to have a copy of something someone has written, you should ASK 'em for it.

full text searching would put a huge strain on the db itself, no matter if we did it with the current search engine, or with Sphinx search. The database is currently 7.9GB, with the BULK of that storage being chapter data. This is why it can't be implemented. If this was all html pages, rather than scripted content, sure, we could use Google search to do exactly what you say. However, since the content is database driven, and to get the input requires form use to begin with (invisible, but still a form of a kind), Google search CAN'T index that. The crawler has to be able to LINK to specific pages (static pages) to crawl. If what you're really wanting is for us to eliminate that page itself, sorry, no can do at this point.

Yep, that's still plagiarism, people. Authors remove stories from sites ALL THE TIME. Because an author has removed a story, does NOT give someone else the right to repost. Original story- Unauthorized duplicate. I cannot stress enough that credited or not, this is STILL plagiarism. 'nuff said.

Category added here. You'll want to look in the FAQ section for how-to's. Just be sure you're in the books subdomain (when in the user cp, select books from the jump menu located at the left and click go), before you go to add your story.

Tigro, There is no need to be combative. This thing you're asking for is not going to happen.

Again, the problem is that certain characters are actually things used to make function calls, or to nest function calls. You'll find that most applications do not accept certain characters in user names and what not for that reason.

you mean "+" this? That's because php uses that as a function call, so we really can't.

In reference to your other post, UNLESS you've gotten permission from this author to continue the story on his or her behalf, that will not be allowed to happen here.
