Minors deleted, now 18 2007 6 profiles deleted, 6 actual users. Youngest age found, 14. 2008 112 profiles deleted, 74 actual users. Youngest age found, 13 2009 130 profiles deleted, 95 actual users. Youngest age found, 13 2010 226 profiles deleted, 160 actual users. Youngest age found, 12 2011 467 profiles deleted, 322 actual users. Youngest age found, 12 The years noted, are the years these deleted users turned 18. Youngest age found indicates how old that user was at time of registration. The earliest registration found for any of these users was the 12 year old from 2011. That user registered in 2003. The number of profiles is more than the number of actual users, due to some of them coming back, or creating multiple profiles, or both.

Apollo and I got to talking about some things, and we were curious as to how it looked by year, rather than cumulative. So, I've been compiling this data per type of infraction I've been reporting previously in the update. As the data is stored in individual records, that's where I've gotten the numbers previously. Mind you, I'd forgotten that many of the earliest records, since I came on staff, had multiple instances per record. This is a far more accurate accounting of what was done, then the prior, as I'm going through these records one at a time. As I finish with a section, it will be added to this topic. The Moderation Status Update I normally post by the month, will now have a breakdown by month, with year to date totals end of each month. I'll be starting a new topic for 2012 following this format.

Should you find that you're suddenly missing a bunch of reviews, it's because I've been doing some clean up in the database. Approximately June of last year, it was discovered that my deletion utility was not deleting the attached data, when a minor was deleted, as it should have. Since then, I've been manually searching the database for the attached reviews, so that I can delete all the pre 18 content with the underage user. Apparently sometime towards the end of December 2008, the utility stopped working. I only found out the approximate time, due to statistic gathering. While I was doing that, I decided that with knowing the utility is not working correctly, it would be a good idea to double check the minor deletions. The deletions that were processed starting last week of December 2008, are where I started to find orphaned reviews from the underagers deleted at the time. So, I'm having to go through these record by record, to make sure I've gotten all the pre 18 content deleted from those past deletions. As of this evening when I stopped, I estimate I've deleted 2000 reviews over an 18 month time span. I've still got another 14 months of data to go through, so I expect this number to jump up greatly.

That's what it would be, is deletion of minors, primarily. Yesterday, when I was deleting them, a fair chunk of the kiddies had also left reviews.

Proof of age is not something that is required UNLESS WE ASK YOU TO PROVIDE IT.
