Are you trying to login to the login box at the upper right? If so, that's the issue. When logging in for the first time, you go to this link, and use the box in the center. Instead of hitting the enter key, you have to click "login", below the login box

you can do like I do when I'm fixing wordord and wallotext. Open the story in a separate tab, make sure the hidden symbols display, and copy/paste the page. Then edit the doc, and copy/paste it in to the pastefromword box.

Okay, after you cleared cookies and restarted, you need to go to this link. Use the login box in the middle of the screen for this part of it. Then, you need to add the information asked for. It will then tell you a validation mail has been sent. You need to check your junk/spam folder if it's not in your inbox for this email as well. Then, click the link in the email, and you should be all set.

I don't think we have tabstops turned on in the rte.

Also, when you're adding, are you uploading a text file, or using the rich text editor? If uploading a plain text file, there could very well be an open tag in the document. Without looking at the data, I wouldn't be able to tell you yes or no on that.

The problem is that what it's stripping is \r\n from these entries, which as you know, is php linebreak and not an html linebreak. I would LOVE a script to fix this though, are you kidding? I've already been at it for a long time. Although, it's not as bad as it could be.
