When you initiate the validation for the first time, it asks for additional information to be entered. Has it done that for you?
-
You're only in the system once. Let's step over this again. 1. Clear your cookies. Close and restart your browser 2. Go to http://members.adult...n.net/login.php, use the MIDDLE login, ignore the one in the upper right corner for this part. 3. Follow the instructions as they appear. 4. When you receive the validation email, click the link. You should then be able to login. To be sure you're not already, look at the login area in the upper right corner. If you're logged in, you'll see "Welcome ZenithAnshu" and links below it for "My Profile", and etc. It's been long enough since I did this myself, that I don't remember if when you've validated, it logs you in. I think it does, but I'm not sure.
-
Before you proceed, have you cleared your cookies? Also, if your current password is less than 8 characters, you definitely have to reset it first, and THEN trigger the validation.
-
@killerman83ca Looked you up, you have not triggered the validation the system now requires. Follow the instructions in the link BronxWench posted for you. Be sure to check your junk/spam folders for when it tells you an email has been generated.
-
Hi there Avernion, I made sure to check whether or not it was perhaps a staff action. I can tell you for certain it was not a staff action. As BronxWench said, once a record is deleted from the table, it's not recoverable. Sorry we couldn't help ya more.

Suggestions for Archive cleanup and restructure
DemonGoddess replied to TonHyukOTP's topic in Fiction Archive
Post this in the Category Request forum, or I will forget to add the tags. -
there is a third possibility, that's it's buried at the back of category, as you'd said you'd read it a long time ago.

@Zenith When you start the login process for the first time, are you using the login area in upper right or in the middle of the screen? You have to use the one in the middle of the screen to initiate the validation. Once you do that, and click the validation link, you can use the login in upper right corner.

@Misato- yes, a long few days indeed! @Ezriee- thankee! @Kayla - yes, everyone who edits themselves rather than waiting me, is helping. I greatly appreciate the assist! I'd be sure if re-adding that it's not a new load, but an edit; preserving your hits, rates and reviews. If you re-add as a new load, you lose all that.
-
tsutsuji, I'm showing you've not yet entered the new system for the first time, and triggered the email.. Follow the directions at this link please
-
you're welcome!
-
@Klen - your next step is to follow the instructions listed here.
-
are you using the password it sent you? It should be a random series of letters/numbers and very long. If that doesn't work, send me an email with the password you want there, I can change it for you.
-
The forum generates its own password reset. So once you generate that, it'll issue a random password to you. Then, you login with that, and change it right away to one you know you'll remember
-
reset it, you'll now have to go through the login for the first time thing again
-
@thomcats I now show you as having been sent the validation mail. You need to click that link to be able to login. If, perhaps, your account has an old email address which is no longer working associated with it, I'll have to change that. If you think that's it, email me at technicalsupport@adult-fanfiction.org. I won't ask you to post your email for all to see here. It could be the same issue in the forum, as I'm showing you there, but not logged in since 2008 what that screen is showing me is the password you entered is wrong.
-
@thomcats, for the forum, you had failed logins, I reset those and unlocked the account. After a few attempts, the forum WILL lock you for attempting to login incorrectly
-
thomcats, I show you as still needing to click the link for validation in the archive. Did you check your spam/junk folders for the email generated?
-
The users have to add the rec reading and such to the new profiles.
-
added
-
As the archive only started sending validation emails yesterday, yes, this would be referencing a forum registration
-
You have to add your rec reading list to the new software. Look up your old profile in any part of the archive, and then start adding to it.
-
@deacon's frost angel, I'm showing you've not initiated the new login as yet. The link to go to is http://members.adult-fanfiction.org/login.php. Be sure before doing this, that you clear you cookies and restart your browser. The new software has different cookies. After you fill out the information as prompted, you'll get a validation email. Be sure to check junk/spam folders for it, and then click the link in the mail to validate.
-
That has nothing to do with the page draw error. You have to login in to the new system here, first. Be sure to clear you cookies and restart your browser before you do. Then, you can look at your old profile, and go in and add your rec reading in to the new profile.

@LaBibliographe - 1. The coding changes themselves will not fix the draw errors. I'm doing that, a chapter at a time. It's something that HAS to be done manually. I've stopped everything else I was doing to fix the db crash from years ago, to concentrate on this particular problem. But, it will take me some time. 2. How I'm fixing is simply making sure the text is in paragraph containers. I'm not editing them at all. Because that's ALL I'm doing at this point in time, you will have to go back in and address some spacing issues, (for some reason some words are now running together, when they shouldn't, and don't in the raw data), if you added format codes, you'll have to remove those, and use the rte format tools to reformat that text. 3. As I said above, yes, they'll get fixed. However, please understand I'm having to go through each and every story, chapter by chapter, archive wide. I fix what's walled and leave the rest alone.
