How it works, is you can request a story to be written. If an author chooses to act upon it, is up to the individual author. Same goes for a writing challenge. Where the problem is, is charging and paying for fanfiction. We, and many other sites, get by with hosting fanfiction because it's free, and no money is exchanged for the writing of it, or the publication. If there was money involved, you can bet that at some point, there'd be infringement problems.

The format is actually YYYY/MM/DD. But yes, if you don't add the 0, it won't add it

@Negative_Gain You CANNOT pay someone for fanfiction. That will get the author in to a ton of trouble, not to mention it'll cause issues for the site which allows it.

Something both my father-in-law and brother-in-law had to do was drink ensure. It helped a good bit where there was difficulty swallowing, and being unable to actually eat. As to the doctor situation, there's got to be SOMETHING his office can do on your dad's behalf. Good lord. I feel for you Melrick.

How it works here, is if someone posts something with no category, it goes to misc until the category is created. Alternatively, and preferably; the writer who is writing for that category that does not yet exist, requests it. It's created, author posts story to the category.

Something else to bear in mind is that stories (where the categories are large enough), have subcategories of pair TYPE. So when it comes up in search, that also shows, you can bypass that, and simply input other parts as the search parameter rather than the pair type.

In the meantime, it's certainly much easier than it used to be, to check update status. You add a story to your current reading list, in your profile.

I checked to be sure, and there are no dupe memberships. Be sure to carefully follow the instructions as linked to above (clearing cache and cookies, and logging in for the first time). If you do NOT clear your cache and cookies, the login will not work. If you do NOT follow the instructions exactly for activation, you will not be able to activate.

Hi there, As an admin user, I don't change by password by the same means that any other user would. So, I had my daughter run through change of password, to see if we couldn't duplicate the issue. Yes, we certainly can. However, to fix the issue, you need to do as she's illustrated in the attached image. Be sure that your user information (user name and/or email) is BLANK before trying to change your password.

Glad you were able to sort it out. Certainly not a waste of time, because often, when something weird happens, it can mean you found a bug in the software.

In your user panel, you'll see a listing to the left with the subdomain names (e.g. anime, bleach, etc). Underneath them, is add/edit/delete. Click add, this opens a new tab, and you add your story.

there was another orphan that belonged to this same deleted user. Deleted that too

Considering that you posted the req while I was sleeping, I suppose I could've sleep merged ya. In any case, it can take up to 48 hours to process the merges, depending upon just how many are in my queue.
