  1. For once, I have had a fairly calm week. Hoping this breather lasts a few more days. Found a lawyer, and now I am praying for a chance to do some writing/revision work.

  2. Having read your thoughts, VladPryde, got me to chuckling. I grew up surrounded by males instead of females so I understand your points perfectly. I'm aware of the bragging and other elements because the guys always forgot that I was a girl when I was growing up. ROFL. If anything I can scarce write from a female perspective due to the pervasive amount of time I spent around men of various ages which makes me quite the oddball. Being in a femaqle body did me little good because I never understood where the girls were coming from at all. Then again, most girls do not grow up fixing cars and tractors and heavy road construction equipment. You made a lot of great points in your 2 posts. Watching guys having pissing contests and all the rest was a first hand experience for me over the years. The need to stake claims and prove dominance is very much a reality of the male condition. I have seen plenty of different ways in which guys go about the one upsmanship over the years. LMAO. It is a primal instinct, and you nailed it beautifully. The drive to meet the criteria of dominant male is very strong in some men also. So thanks for pointing those elements out for those who were unaware of that facet of the male psyche.
  3. Finding a lawyer to force the insurance company to pay for the accident their driver caused is a royal pain. These unknown insurance companies are proving more corrupt than I ever imagined.

  4. Some weeks I wonder why people are so blind that they cannot see the foolishness of their delusional states of being.

  5. Son's better and back at work. Still a mass of chaos from all directions and my health has gone to hell again. Need to get in to see a doctor and cannot afford it as per normal. Have to choose between meds and food which is not helping matters. Face palm. I give up.

  6. On the heels of my ex trying to commit suicide, my son gets into a car wreck when getting a ride to work. Both the boys are more or less okay, but the car is a total write off. Can this year get any more obnoxious?

Short of an alien invasion, no. Also sending good thoughts.

  7. Sad to say I exploded at one of the freaked out gang a couple days ago. Time to hide form the friends and family because I cannot handle 30+ people losing their minds at the same time without let up. :( Gods but this stress has been miserable.

Sorry, any mindless task (like shoveling snow, cleaning grill, scrubbong bathroom) they will give you peace or you make them help? Amu chance you can tap 3rd part counselor/minister who could help? watch a sunset!

  8. Working with one of the kids who had a miscarriage, adn dealing with funeral situation for an old friend who lost his battle with colon cancer last week. This year has got to get better soon or I am going to rip out my gray streaked red hair from all the ongoing hard core stress!

Agreed, Bronx. Last time I saw so much chaos was in 2001. I lost a dozen family members that year, most during the infamous Oklahoma City bombing. I've got multiple friends/family facing horrific situations. I'm tied up in multiple messenger/email/phone conversations every single day. Was elected by Granma Nancy Carol to matriarch status on her death bed a few years back. Is a very heavy burden suddenly.

Take care of yourself, too. Is there anyone you can delegate one problem to?

Dale was my backup, and he died a few days ago. I got hit with everyone he was trying to field for me, plus playing peacekeeper for his funeral arrangements. Between the crazy psycho religious mother, an ex wife from hell, his clingy sister, plus current lover, I have been trapped without end online and on the phone at the same time. His funeral will be tomorrow.

  9. Busy with helping several kids and trying to find a new place simultaneously. I swear people have gone completely insane so far this year.

  10. A: You are most welcome. Some ideas on these work sheets are inspired by role playing cribs too. The last one on the list is a variation of the snowflake technique. It helps to nail down the directions for the story so you can keep track of where you want to go with a tale. Good luck and have fun with them.
  11. Apartment hunting is exhausting, and time consuming.

  12. Every time I think life has reached the highest pinnacle of insanity, and can't get any crazier, it proves me wrong of late!

  13. I have been in nonstop war with my landlord. I feel bad for Paul who is stuck between us in the never ending drama of getting the saggin roof and nonstop leaks repaired. I hve had to rearange my whole place in case it rains again among other things. This is absolutley the most frustrating thing I have had to deal with ever!

      Anesor

Uggh. Is there any kind of safety/housing oversight board in your town? Of course they might condemn it, but a sagging roof in the winter can't be good. If it's been going on this long with no result, a third party might be able to do something. Your lease may have the appeal info, but double check with local board because stupid things could be unenforcable... good luck.

Actually I do not have a current lease. My landlord believes in one time signed, and then he won't renew leases so we are classified month to month. Therefore we have little recourse in this state. Had a rain shower and that ended in listening to Paul walking on our roof twice to sweep off the water the 20th. :( I feel so badly for Paul.

  14. Lots of clouds, Roof still leaks, and I've been run ragged keeping my dog from scaring the roofers who are not coming today. . . Because it is rainy yet again!

Hope you are doing okay, Bronx. I understand the Eastern states are getting hit hard with ice like what happened in Texas. Anesor, Nothing distracts Wraith Shards from his Love me and I'll love you obsession of fast moving tongue flapping, not a violent dog unless made that way through harming him or me. I've already caught the non English speaking roofers trying picking on my dog twice and made it very clear to them that I won't play that game much to their newly evolving fear by...

  15. There are moments when I really wish bashing an obnoxiously dense landlord over the head with a frying pan was not only legal, but mandatory! Instread, I am stuck bashing my own head into the brick wall next to my computer.

  16. Finally the landlord is fixing my blasted leaking roof. Only been demanding it for 3 years at this point. Guess they finally belive cold tar will not work long term!

  17. Awesome. congrats on taking the plunge.
  18. Have gotten chapters 18 and 19 written and posted to Driven Heart the Prequel after a terribly long hiatus. They are raw drafts at the moment, but due to not having written anything for several months, I went ahead and posted the two as a set of sorts. I will revise them as soon as I am humanly able to do so. I apologize for the long wait for those who have liked the story to date.
  19. I have gotten back into writing now that my health has improved. Have begun posting chapters to Driven Heart and to As the Smoke Clears again. The plot bunnies are slowly awakening from hibernation, so perhaps the overall integrity of the stories will improve. Have done some long overdue revision work on A Rivalry Revealed so expect some chapters to get replaced ASAP. Much of the revision work done is correcting wrong Japanese words inside the dialog, and streamlining bad paragraphs for clarity. Hope the new clarity will be well received.
  20. Seems this last unexpected hardcore relapse is truly over. I am so glad to be back for real this time. I even managed to get a few pages of long ignored chapters written in this last week. I can only do so when my brain is fully functioning along with my right hand. So relieved that I am back to normal once more.

Congrats! Doesn't it feel better to get back to the story that sort of nags at you? I've been calling it twitchy fingers and I'm so glad when it ends. New stories keep pounding at the door, saying 'Type me!'

    2. Kurahieiritr

      Kurahieiritr

LOL. I was too strong a brain fog to know what to type for the better part of a couple months. :( Every time I started trying to get back to normal the stupid illness nailed me time and again. Guess I hate being down so much I sometimes fight too hard to get back on my feet at times. LMAO.

  21. A: Having a few ideas of getting from point a to point z gives a frame for writing a story. I find it is always a great idea and allows for flexibility in telling a story. By having some key notions about what reversals will be creating friction for the characters, you can get a better idea of what types of battles your lead characters will be facing. You can attune to their personalities, and find the best avenue to help them shine when overcoming every obstacle in their path. Personally I feel that all writers should have an emotional tie to all the characters inside their tales to keep the balance between all characters in the story. Getting overly emotional with only one can create a problem. Occasionally, it leads to losing your grasp of the other characters inside the same tale. If that happens, you might not be capable of continuing to also nurture your other characters, or so I have personally found in my ow writing over the years. Emotional investment creates dynamic characters, so definitely keep being attached to all your characters. I love to jerk tears, fury fits, and laughter out of my own readers so having an emotional stake in all of my characters' perspectives is a must for myself. I let the characters tell their tale to the best of their ability by stepping into each of their shoes while they do the talking. Because of my emotional attachment to their trials, and triumphs, the readers share the characters emotions vicariously which is the objective of a good story. I get yelled at and loved in equal measure because I do feel for my characters at every stage. All writers get attached to their stories which is part of the joy found in writing. In the raw stage of writing a tale, that is part of the beauty of getting a lot of emotional context added in many cases. Once finished you sit on that raw, very rough draft for a few weeks then come back to it, and shred the raw draft to clean up the grammar, and all the little out of tune problems created in the freer stage of getting the tale out. You will find that you have to axe some things and revise, but it makes the story so much better and stronger of you take the time to revise and chop out the excess that goes nowhere. Welcome to this thread, and good luck with your story, Tory.
  22. Okay so I got home after my healing trip and things have been bizzare to say the least. Between the JW obnoxiousness nad the backlog of emails etc, I am wishing I had stayed away longer. ROFL. Can't leave home for a couple days to get help without the whole nutty community going after the rest of my family is my conclusion.

  23. Looks like life will finally start to settle down again into my definition of normal. Has been full of the weirdest crap to deal with at the worst possible time. At least folks are learning not to badger me to become a JW when I am ill at this point.

Weird is the description for most of this year to date. ROFL. Got home to JW driving my 21 year old son batty. I have told them repeatedly not to bug my home, but they won't listen. Wondering if there is a restraining order I can get against the organization so I have legal recourse at this point. 10 years of this is too long to be harassed constantly.

  24. Thanks everyone. I really appreciate the patience here. Bronx, you might want to make sure the candle is for the survival of my friends and family who insist that I need to go back to bed and won't let me near my laptop for more than 20 minutes in morning, and 20 minutes in evening so I have no option but to sleep all dratted day. Dear Gods but they are making me dreadfully insane!
