About Me
I'm a former software tester, gamer, book department manager, and full time sf/f geek with a taste for history, mystery, and romance. Health and technical issues mean that keyboard time is not efficient or as typo free as I'd like.
I started reading the occasional Trek fanfic in the early 80's, though I attended far too many SF convention panels on writing and the industry for someone who didn't realize they wanted to write. I finally took plunge into writing when utterly frustrated by a game in November 2007, unofficially during NaNoWriMo. Officially finished almost every year since. I was tickled when a fan requested permission to do a translation into Russian. Shorter tales and one-shots have a much shorter development cycle. Yes, I tend to write a little as if it were a software project using a waterfall design process. Rapid development is for people who can write without run-ons and horrifying spelling and grammar woes. I write mostly fanfic at the moment, though I have two originals that desperately need a pro editor that I wrote for NaNos. Original short stories are easier.
Reviews and comments (good and bad) are what pays writers to post their fanfic. We pay for ebooks and physical books, so if we read more than a sample of a story, feedback helps repay the writer for the enjoyment of their hard work.
The gimp brush used for my avatar is by redheadstock on deviant art.
"Reach down into your heart and you'll find many reasons to fight: Survival, Honor, Glory. But what about those who feel it's their duty to protect the innocent? There you will find the warriors savage enough to match any dragon. And in the end they will retain what the other's won't. Their humanity." - Varric Tethras DA
