  1. We’ll do that when you join the staff as Review Moderator.
  2. I’ve emailed you new links. You might also need to fill in any missing information in your profile.
  3. Ah, the early morning poking of the undercaffeinated dragon… If I believe reviews are being spammed, the reviewer is subject to being banned. At the moment, no anonymous reviews are permitted, as a security measure, so in order to spam those reviews, you will need an archive account. I would be very happy to have that last another year or so.
  4. We’ve updated our FAQs to reflect the new archive look: Story How-To’s How to Upload a Story How to Add a Chapter If there’s anything missing or unclear, please let us know.
  5. Oh, trust me, the spamming part will get them banned. Fast.
  6. AI generated fanfic is pretty new, and we don’t have an established policy per se, although we may want to think about this and establish one. In general, we do have a policy of asking that all content be the work of the uploading author. Obviously, when writing fan fiction, the universe/fandom and the characters are not owned by the uploading author, hence the disclaimer requirement. But we don’t allow large swaths of content taken directly from the fandom, or the read-the-book stories that were all the rage for a while. So where does AI generated writing fall? I’m not entirely sure. It’s obviously not written by the uploading author, but presumably, the AI program generated content based on parameters established by the uploading author. I’m just not sure it’s really writing in the truest sense of the word. I can’t imagine any AI program could capture a writer’s voice: the way they use language, the cadence of their writing, the unique touches that make their work stand out from other writers. I might use it to generate a rough plot outline, but I think I’m still old-fashioned enough to want the words on the page or screen to be the words I chose myself, if that makes any sense at all.
  7. I’ve emailed you new links to activate and reset your password. We did have some issues with Yahoo interpreting our emails to members as some sort of spam thing.
  8. Yes, it is possible to post new stories. We’re still missing a few functions, like punctuation in titles and summaries, and the Rich Text Editor won’t bold text, but for the most part, we’re working again.
  9. The Mandalorian is a television series, so it would be under the Television subdomain. We do not have a separate subcategory for that show, unfortunately, so any stories would be posted under Misc TV Shows at present. At the moment, I believe the Search function remains disabled while we finish securing the site. Once it has been restored, we’ll update our FAQ on hos the use the Search function.
  10. I’ve sent you fresh links, both to reactivate the account and to reset the password. Please reactivate before resetting the password. Even though you might have activated previously, this method works when resetting a password fails on its own. The browser is not the issue.
  11. You will need to validate the account and reset the password. I’ve emailed you links to do both things.
  12. I’ll send you new links via email—that is the pen name we have in the database.
  13. I’m not finding an account associated with a pen name of Gadget69. Is there another pen name that might be associated with your account?
  14. I can email you the information to activate your account and reset your password, but I need a working email address. The one I have on record returns as disabled.
  15. Unfortunately, no. While Recommended Authors was carried over, Recommended Reading and Currently Reading was not when we migrated to the new archive code.
  16. Alright. If you tried activating while you weren’t home, then the IP address isn’t matching. I’m going to send both links to you again. Activate, and then reset your password. Use a new password, not one that Google or another browser makes up for you. The password needs to be at least 12 but not more than 18 letters and/or numbers only—no spaces, punctuation, or special characters. If the password is too short or too long, the reset will fail. If the password has any punctuation or special characters, the reset will fail. You log out by clicking the LOGOUT link at the upper right corner of the archive home page. Then you can log in again using your email address and password. You may not need to do that, but it has helped with other members trying to reset a password. I think, however, that if you reactivate and then set a new password, it should work.
  17. Don’t use the password reset link in your profile. While we work on fully securing the site, some links and features are disabled, and hat is one of them. Please use the custom link I generate and please be mindful of the password reset rules in the email. If you reuse your old password, you “blank” the field and force another reset. If you use illegal characters, or the password is too short or too long, it won’t work and you’ll force another reset. I’ll send you out a fresh one.
  18. I’ve resent the password reset link.
  19. I’ve emailed you the activation and password reset links.
