This morning’s update: we might get to take her home this afternoon. They took her off the IV cocktail and started her on the oral rescue med I use at home, and she had a seizure, but the neurologist is still optimistic we might be able to bring her home and continue with the oral meds until we reach the golden benchmark of 24 hours without a seizure. He’s of the same opinion as I am—she’ll do better at home and we can watch her just as well as anyone, as long as she’s not having clusters of seizures requiring sedation.

Good luck, and as Dorothy said, “There’s no place like home.”

And… they took her off the IV and she had more seizures, so we’re going to have another night in the hospital with the IV. We went up to see her, and the wee lass knows us, but it’s hard leaving her there.

I really, REALLY fucking hate epilepsy.
