Oh, I was going to ask George RR Martin to plan my next wedding! I like a wedding with a body count.

I would never, ever write or change a chapter just to please others. My story, my rules, and if others don't like that then it's not like there's a shortage of other stories out there for them to read. Ultimately I write stories to please myself first and foremost, and if others like them too then that's just an added bonus.

As a reader, that's something I would never do. Authors write, first and foremost, for themselves. You know that getting in to reading any given story. Hell, you know that when you buy a book. No, absolutely do not change the story. Your story, your words, your rules.

I'd probably be too lazy to change something like that for one reader.

Oh, I was gonna drag on another 15 or twenty chapters...you no, big battle right at the end of the book...big cliffhanger and then stop writing all together... Never fear, writing the battle scene now, actually two concurrent battle scenes.

Honestly? No, I wouldn't change a chapter if I really believed that was the direction the story needed to take. I've upset readers before, and I'm sure I'll do it again. I understand that in fan fiction, their perception of a character may differ greatly from mine, but if I've taken that character to a certain point, I can't back off and wave a magic wand, and make it all better. I love my readers, and I value their input. Ultimately, however, it's my story to tell, and I have to tell it the way that feels right to me.

Two concurrent battle scenes? Hmmm. Either one of them is a flashback involving Rick or the house is under attack again.....or maybe Nick North and friends are attacking the same bad guys for a different reason. Ah, how the mind wanders while we anxiously await.

Thanks for all the feedback. In the end, I appreciated her opinion, I was just a little surprised that she said she was going to stop reading it. And no, I have no intention of changing it, as I stated above. I really do love to write my little stories, and I do it for myself too. You just can't please everyone. Even professional writers get complaints. I'm sure George RR Martin gets plenty for killing characters. lol

Depends on the story, if it's important to you and you think you wrote it the way it should be written then no. If its a fluff piece and the readers are more important then yes. I let readers influence me all the time, not on main plot points, but the tangental story changes all the time in response to reviews.

I agree that some of the chapters seem to be fill while he figures out exactly how he wants to approach the BIG scenes. IF he needs more time to get to the rescue having the women/girls put Joanne in her place seem to me to be almost as exciting as the real rescue. Think about it - rescuing someone from themselves ! B

Hey guys. So...not really an update but I just got through writing a section in this chapter (two-thirds of the way done, btw) and it had me in tears by the end of it and I actually had to step away from the story for a little while because it brought back some really painfully memories (not with my wife but other stuff in my life) and it was so painfully I actually had to convince myself to come back to the story because I knew it needed to get done. Why did I come back? Well, two reasons. First of all, this is my story and I damn well need to see it through. Second...is you guys. You guys are all fantastic. Those of you who came from xnxx or those who just started reading the story here...you're all amazing fans and amazing readers and every comment you leave, whether praise or not, means a lot to me. It helps get me through the rough patches and carry on. So, yeah, this part I'm at really kinda tears me up a bit inside but you guys are worth it and I want you to know that I am plowing ahead through the chapter and I hope to have it up in the next couple of days. Thank you all so much for being so supportive and giving me more support, praise, and encouragement than I ever thought I deserved. Love, Joe
