Melrick Posted January 19 Report Posted January 19 That appears to be a bug with some browsers. The new archive is a work in progress, and they’re working on it as fast as they can. neo4812 and BronxWench 2 Quote
DemonGoddess Posted January 19 Report Posted January 19 As with any new browser based software, there are some things a user must do to use it. First, and foremost, force clear cache and cookies for ALL TIME. That should fix the problem BronxWench and neo4812 1 1 Quote

Even tried their “fix site issues” checkbox, nope. Though I do have chromium working for that, meant a google search to return to the forums (as I still prefer firefox and I couldn’t click from the main site anymore with that blocking banner) BronxWench 1 Quote
DemonGoddess Posted January 19 Report Posted January 19 Are you using something to disable and/or block popups in Firefox? BronxWench 1 Quote

Desiderius Price Posted January 19 Report Posted January 19 Tried it again, now it seems to work on firefox. (Noscript & UBlock origin are normally active, simply to try to keep rogue javascript from taking over… or FB snooping) BronxWench 1 Quote
GeorgeGlass Posted January 19 Report Posted January 19 I can't get past the age verification in the archive. Clicking “Yes, I Am 18+” does nothing (although clicking the other button takes me to Google). Clearing my cache and cookies (for all time) didn’t fix it. I’m using Chrome. neo4812 1 Quote

Guest MouseBebe Posted January 22 Report Posted January 22 Hi, I'm having the same problem, and deleting cache and cookies didn't help. Unfortunately I'm working from a tablet that quite literally does not have a CTRL key. Are there any other possible workarounds? Thank you. Quote

I did also try on a computer with attached keyboard (Firefox). Clearing cookies, etcetera didn't get it to work there, either, and the CTRL + F5 isn't working on that when I try. Quote

Whatever was hanging it up seems to abruptly resolved; on the third try on both machines just now it went through, so I'm not sure why the first attempts didn't work. Maybe I had to do the ritual public abasement first? For whatever reason, I'm in now. Thank you! Quote

Thundercloud Posted January 23 Report Posted January 23 I am using Firefox and there is no activation email sent as far as I can see. As for the new site. It is extremely hard to know that you cannot surf to the subdomain you want to visit without following instructions that are only visible if you are not using incognito. I suggest you change the popup text to inform visitors what they must do to avoid the problem. Giving a non working popup with no explanations is not reasonable if you want people to find the site. The only reason I understood the site works at all was a message from JayDee that made me realize the site somehow must be working. Quote

The incognito/anonymous thing is a ONE TIME thing to set the new cookie. It’s all right there in the site news. As to an activation email, if that was sent before the upgrade, it is no longer valid. However, I can (and did) activate it for you. So now all you have to do is let the cookie be set. Then you can go back to your anonymous browsing. Quote

As to an activation email, if that was sent before the upgrade, it is no longer valid. I am not complaining that it is too much work. My problem was that I, for almost a week, thought there had been a failed update on AFF that had caused a major outage. Three is nothing with the pop-up that suggests incognito mode might be a problem, and there is no information about an explanation on a different page than the one you are accessing. If you add text to the popup that warns the user that if they are having trouble with the popup, they should visit the main site without incognito, people would be able to solve the problem without visiting the forum. 2 hours ago, DemonGoddess said: However, I can (and did) activate it for you. I really look forward to test the new UI. Quote
JayDee Posted January 23 Report Posted January 23 Possibly just a firefox issue again, but I was just trying different subdomains from the menu and for some reason the “Marvel Verse” link under “books / comics / manga” doesn’t bring anything up. I noticed hovering over the others has a box at the bottom side of the screen with the domain link, but I don’t see one for marvel. Within my profile when I look at stories I see one story shows under “Xmen” but on the archive menu at the top under comics the menu drop down which doesn’t work for me says “marvel verse” instead. Everything else seems to be working! Figured I’d flag it in case either anyone else had it, or it wasn’t known about. Quote
