Guest Knorg Posted December 10, 2006 Report Posted December 10, 2006 I got up 8.45 thanks to a ringing phone, and missed breakfast entirely. In a few minutes I'm heating up a microwave chicken burger that I brought for yesterday and didn't eat, so I guess this is my break-fast. How about you?
WotanAnubis Posted December 10, 2006 Report Posted December 10, 2006 Just a few... ... Aw dammit, I don't know how to say "boterhammen met hagelslag" in English. How ridiculous is that? I write bunches of lesbian pr0n, but I don't know how to describe breakfast? I also had milk, by the way.
EveKnight75 Posted December 10, 2006 Report Posted December 10, 2006 I'm taking a wild guess here - you had chocolate spread on bread? Like I said, a wild guess, but let me know if I'm anywhere close. I usually have cereal for breakfast if I can stomach it while in a rush. If I can lounge around, I'll have pancakes. If I have at least half an hour, I'll have cheese omelets. There are also occasions where I have cream cheese on bagels or peanut butter on toast. If I wake up really early and feel like throwing up, I'll grab a breakfast bar and water. Actually, I'd prefer to skip breakfast altogether on those mornings, but I'm diabetic so skipping breakfast is not an option.

The bread and chocolate things are correct. 'Spread'... I'm not sure. I've been told the Netherlands is perhaps the only country in the world where people sprinkle chocolate all over their bread for breakfast so maybe there's no real accurate translation for hagelslag.

Chocolate Sprinkles on Bread?
EveKnight75 Posted December 10, 2006 Report Posted December 10, 2006 I wasn't exactly sure what hagelslag was, but now that you've described it, I guess you could translate it to "chocolate shavings". "Shavings" would be a more accurate translation in light of the fact that hagelslag probably doesn't look like what we consider chocolate sprinkles (like the stuff on donuts and ice cream).
NightScribe Posted December 10, 2006 Report Posted December 10, 2006 A large cup of coffee when I first woke up around 7:45. Now, I'm having green tea and a Raisin Bran breakfast bar.
Squallfan Posted December 10, 2006 Report Posted December 10, 2006 My hubby took me to Cracker Barrel. Yummy
Guest echtrae Posted December 10, 2006 Report Posted December 10, 2006 I had a granola bar about a ½ hour ago when I got up. I haven't had a chance to eat anythign else yet. I was up all night with a sick kid.
polywolly Posted December 10, 2006 Report Posted December 10, 2006 Coffee. Unhealthy amounts of coffee.
Guest Alien Pirate Pixagi Posted December 11, 2006 Report Posted December 11, 2006 Donuts. Lots of em.
Guest Adara Posted December 11, 2006 Report Posted December 11, 2006 Breakfast? LOL, what breakfast? I got up late and had homemade chicken alphabet soup. Gimme a break, I have a two year old! LOL
Guest Madapple Posted December 11, 2006 Report Posted December 11, 2006 I had a cinnamon roll and 1/2 an orange. Yummy. Tomorrow, I want chocolate on bread. It sounds yummy. Maybe I'll have 1 chocolatey bread and 1 Nutella toast. ummmm. . .Nutella.
Guest Adara Posted December 11, 2006 Report Posted December 11, 2006 Nutella is awesome...*drool* I wish I had nutella, how about sharing the wealth Madapple?
NinjaGaijin Posted December 11, 2006 Report Posted December 11, 2006 The bread and chocolate things are correct.'Spread'... I'm not sure. Only? Guess you're wrong. Your country used to have colonial rule over mine and among the things they left is the chocolate sprinkles on bread thing. EveKnight, yes, it's the stuff you put on donuts and icecreams. That said, my unhealthy breakfast is rice and spicy chicken nuggets... eaten before 6 o'clock.
StoryJunkie Posted December 11, 2006 Report Posted December 11, 2006 yummy nutella. chocolate sprinkles...mmmm...I get whipped for breakfasts like that. 2 cups of coffee, no cream (no sugar) this morning. I hadn't gone to the store yet, due to old spiderwbs...meh, well, by circumstances beyond my control, it so happened I ended up in church for a spiritual breakfast instead, so it turned out okay. There's an odd story about that, btw, but I found a friend...
foeofthelance Posted December 11, 2006 Report Posted December 11, 2006 A French Toast bagel, and a bottle of SoBe. Spread ove the hours of ten in the morning and two in the afternoon. It was a good nap.
EveKnight75 Posted December 11, 2006 Report Posted December 11, 2006 I ocassionally have Nutella and peanut butter on toast, but only if I get a really low reading on my monitor. Safety first. I want bottehamen met hagelslag! I'm a chocoholic! Damn you, WotanAnubis, for bringing that up!
WotanAnubis Posted December 11, 2006 Report Posted December 11, 2006 Only? Guess you're wrong.Your country used to have colonial rule over mine and among the things they left is the chocolate sprinkles on bread thing. Really? Hmm. Perhaps I should've said "only those countries that were, at one point, part of the Kingdom of the Netherlands". Or, considering our history, "The Republic of the Netherlands".
Guest Big Samurai Posted December 11, 2006 Report Posted December 11, 2006 My standard weekday breakfast: -- Two miniature bagels -- Little box of raisins -- Cup of apple sauce -- Granola bar -- Cup of yogurt -- Daily vitamin My standard weekend breakfast: -- Two toasted waffles -- Bowl of oatmeal -- Bowl of cold cereal with 2% milk -- Several different vitamins See, your local samurai is something of a health nut. I eat breakfast every morning, without fail. It's really good for the energy level.
Nanaea Posted December 11, 2006 Report Posted December 11, 2006 Well, I usually have cereal with Silk (soy milk) during the week, but yesterday I didn't eat anything at all. I was feeling a little bit better this morning so I had two pieces of whole wheat toast with organic strawberry jam.
redsliver Posted December 11, 2006 Report Posted December 11, 2006 Today I had the best breakfast ever, cold pizza. There is nothing better to start your day with, well maybe fresh pizza.
Iggy_lovechild Posted December 13, 2006 Report Posted December 13, 2006 Coffee and an apple. A miracle really, usually i just down obscene amounts of coffee while working on whatever peice of fanfiction I'm currently obsessing over.
dazzledfirestar Posted December 13, 2006 Report Posted December 13, 2006 De-Caf coffee, strawberry yogurt, and an apple. I've been so healthy lately!
