I watched this documentary last night (link to Wikipedia page on it) and found it very interesting though I no longer have school-age kids. I highly recommend it for any parents of kids either in school or have yet to reach school age. Though I'm unsure as to how accurate all the information is in it, it raises some most interesting points that are seriously worth pondering and debate.

8 tracks, geesh i remember those! Had the whole collection from the Rolling Stones on them. Had that on cassette too, had to replace those as well. Before those, records aka big, black CDs as the kid calls them.
The fall of Saigon. I don't know if it was live or on tape, but I remember the mass exodus out of the city and all the people waiting on the rooftop of the one building trying desperately to get out on the last few helicopters.

The shuttle Columbia blowing up right after launch (I also remember the one that blew up on reentry, it happened right over where i live now-we heard it but thought nothing of it, assuming it was live fire practice on the military post).
The first TV remote (hehehe i had a toy banana that squeaked and it turned out that the squeaker in the banana was the same frequency as the remote and would change the channel as well LMAO! )
The fall of the communist party in Russia then the coming down of the Berlin wall. I sat up all night and watched that live.

And we had Pong, yes, PONG! It was hooked up to an ancient TV and we would play it for hours. Later on, it was the original Atari.

After a quick shower after walking, with Inupapa of course, i get dressed for dinner. Guys in their kilts, though Sesshomaru protested vehemently, i wander down to find dinner, keeping Kouga on a tight least to control his over-exuberance.

Yawns, bleary eyed, and wanders out of the room with Inupapa to go find something to drink, leaving Sesshomaru still unconscious in the bed and Kouga in the shower.
After gathering something to drink from the helpful staff, nodding at them in a thanks, decides to take a walk on the beach with the ole' dog. Sipping on the drink, I feel Inupapa's hand take mine and smile happily. Leaning against him, I ask, "Do you think Sesshomaru will get over the case of the grouchies?"
Snorting in amusement, the big inu daiyoukai chortles back, "He'll get with the program soon enough and enjoy it, though he will act as though it's grudgingly and not by choice. Besides, a week off from all the stress of what we do. Just relax and enjoy yourself, Danyealle. I sure plan to!"
Grinning up at him, i lean against him as we walk, feeling the spray from the water as it laps against the sand.

Wanders in, bedraggled and harried looking, with Inupapa and Kouga tailing behind carrying an unconscious Sesshomaru. Grabs key, muttering to self how some beings just had to fight the whole way then wearly trudges off to my room with the others trailing behind. Waves to those around and says, "I'm sleeping in! Need me for anything and the two conscious ones will handle it!" Wanders towards the room, still muttering to myself.
