  1. No idea, I answered based on what you said the content is. I can find no record of it anywhere, so it could just as easily been pulled by the author him or herself.
  2. If the story contained content about a real underage person, we would have had to delete it. We are OBLIGATED to not allow ANY content about real people under 18.
  3. Prompts obsequiousness obmutescent oriflamme Rules Happy Writing! This topic will autolock at 11:59 pm EDT 10-12
  4. I'll just say that with my directness, should I happen upon a story that I honestly can't go further than a paragraph or two in to, I absolutely will not review, nor rate. I click the back arrow. I'm not willing to further waste my time.
  5. Are you in your control panel? If so, look to your left, under the profile edit options. There is a listing of each subdomain, with add/edit/delete under each one.
  6. I'm going to put in my twenty cents here (inflation you know). As a reader, if a story is bad, and has no redeeming qualities that I can see, I absolutely will not leave a review for it. The reason for that, is that regardless of the author maybe, possibly being willing to listen, if it's that bad, I'm too blunt to say anything at all that resembles positive concrit. Were I to actually review something like that, yes, I'd manage to keep it from being a flame, but as blunt as I am, I promise my review to that kind of story would be very much LESS than kind. While I wouldn't intend to hurt someone's feelings, I know that I would. So, it's better that I say nothing at all on such a story.

  8. Only other option I can think of, to see if I can duplicate the issue, is for you to attach the file you're trying to add to this topic, and let me try it.
  9. Again, I was unable to duplicate the issue. I've tried in several subdomains now and am still not getting that issue. Have you cleared your cache? More importantly, after clearing cache, have you closed and restarted the browser? You can clear cache all day long, but if you don't close and restart the browser, it means nothing. Some browsers even require a reset of the computer.
  10. I just tested and was unable to duplicate the error. When selecting .txt upload, are you using a .txt file? If not, then it won't work. That's the only file type allowed for actual upload. Unless you know html and have formatted your text document so that it has text containers, I would NOT use that feature. Select text area, and use the rich text editor instead.
  11. From Nexcess: During this migration there will be a brief interruption in service(s) associated with your server. Our migration team will be migrating servers between the hours of 12:00AM and 6:00AM Eastern Time on September 30th. While we have scheduled a six hour window for the migration, your service will not be interrupted for more than two hours. Our migration coordinators will be monitoring your service before, during, and after your migration. Your IP addresses will not be changing nor will you be issued new hardware during this migration; rather we are physically moving your service to the new facility. No changes are required whatsoever on your part.
  12. added. That was an awesome series opener!
  13. If you're not requesting a specific category, but instead issuing a challenge, there is another part to the forum to do that, not here please.
  14. Agents of Shield will go to the xmen subdomain, I'll end up creating a tv category I expect. So you're saying you want this added?
  15. First of all, the login. The login is done via the centralized location for it. Yes, there are issues with the CENTER boxes, but using the ones located at the upper right there are no problems. Sure, we could let users reply in the review boards rather than lengthy ANs and what not, but then again, I'm the one who is going THROUGH all that and fixing the data from the multiple crashes this site has suffered over the years. For my sanity, we use the forum for responses. I am the ONLY one with DB access, so you can see what I mean. I have 8.6GB of data to go through record by record, and fix where needed. I'm hoping we have a function for the actual replies once the storyboarding is rewritten. (I've asked for it, we'll see how that goes). In the meantime, the forum options works just as well. For lost passwords, with the hashing in place to prevent users from being hacked, the login retrieval is done via a password RESET. It's simple enough and there are directions in the email sent to do this. Underneath the login boxes themselves, it's clearly stated that users must me mindful of password entry being CASE sensitive. As to difficulties, many of them are directly Internet Explorer related. That particular browser creates issues not just here, but at most sites. In fact, to make something like this IE compatible, the coding often BREAKS in all the other browsers. So, no, not going there. EVER. As to what the abovementioned site uses for software, eFiction has its own set of issues, including many security vulnerabilities, the inability to work with a dataset this size, and some other things I won't bore you with on a tech end. When looking to revamp all the old code here (which where it's not yet been rewritten is over ten years old and iffy) I did experiment with an import (offsite of course), and managed to crash the program rather quickly. So it's clearly NOT an option for us. Given that writing a new code base takes time, there are many functions which are planned and not yet in place. Such as clicking a link to set a story in the recommended reading, clicking an author name for the same. The big thing right now, is to make sure that the new code WORKS, which is does quite nicely. We'll add the little extras (and they are tiny in comparison to the big picture) AFTER making sure all the base code is in place and working correctly.
  16. If you're using word, and click paste from word in the rte, it'll preserve your bold, italics, all of that.

      I concur! Geez ...

  18. I'm unable to duplicate the issue and can access stories from the latest listing without issue. I think you may need to clear your cache
  19. I've tried mobile browsers as well, and NONE of them have this issue either. It's ONLY Internet Explorer that behaves this way.
  20. It's definitely the skin. All it means is that there are some images files I didn't copy over.
