Feeling a bit… old when somebody review comments that they were born eight days before I first published the story.

Brilliant. While I don’t quite have to resurrect my dead character, I’m doing it anyway. He will come in handy later.
He may well be a “bridge” between the two principal characters of the “Yankee’s Nephew” series; David Dvorak and Harry Potter.
I’m resurrecting Paul Tarsus Rush-Cook Dvorak as I write this, on two platforms.
Cheers!

Six months to Christmas!
(that’s all folks.)

“Only 364 more shopping days ‘til Christmas” is what they announce on my birthday.
My personal opinion is that while the Spirit of Christmas should endure all year round, that the Season of Christmas shall not start prior to the First Sunday of Advent, nor shall it persist beyond the Baptism of the Lord. Your mileage may vary.
Happy Christmas! 😜

Lately, whenever I try to look at the reviews of any of my stories, my browser has been giving me the “Your connection is not private. Attackers might be trying to steal your information from cartoon.adult-fanfiction.org (for example, passwords, messages, or credit cards).” Is this happening to anyone else?

HI, @BronxWench
I’m running Firefox ESR for (obsolete) OSX.
With that browser setup, you can get a “clean” padlock, indicating a “full” SSL connection, or a padlock with a yellow triangle, indicating that you have a partial SSL connection, where Firefox only sees what it identifies as “passive” content being sent in the clear. All of both the archives and forums sites appear with the yellow triangle padlock.
When running Google Chrome for the same OS, most of the site except for the areas you’ve identified show “full secure” with Chrome. For the areas you report as “broken,” Chrome reports that they are very broken, giving the error code—NET::ERR_CERT_DATE_INVALID
I hope that helps.

Hi, @BronxWench.
The SSL problem is actually happening systemwide as I discussed above, including both the archives and the forums. I’m guessing that something’s “bent” somewhere in the SSL implementation, but I’m not sure exactly what is bent. Your Root CA is valid, and to the casual observer the chains down to your actual servers appear to be set up correctly. So, the “betting” money is on a small but significant typo somewhere causing the problem.
Thanks.

Yes. Parts of the system(s) hosting both the archives and the forums are failing (or not even trying) to establish ssl connections. So, whatever is being transmitted between your computer and those system(s) hosting AFF can be read or attacked in real time by nefarious (or bored) individuals. It appears that only images are being sent in the clear between AFF and readers based on research.

According to AI (Google’s), the longest somebody’s stayed in a casino is 51 hours 33 minutes.

I’m annoyed, graphics giving me issues on my computer. ☹️

If your computer started acting up without you doing some other change to it first, I wouldn’t have my hopes raised too high. And if the problem stuck around on your main computer after a card swap, especially if the removed card worked on your other machine (you never said,) then I would be looking at something on the main system board.
If you did a software patch or driver update to the O/S recently, rolling that back will hopefully roll the problem away. Otherwise, hope for something “cheap and stupid,” like a memory module or different accessory card starting to go bad and impinging on system resources needed by the video card for the video to work correctly.
Good luck, whatever it turns out to be.

Hm… Fun fact if we go by timeline alone.
The Destruction of Raccoon City ( Resident Evil 1998)
And Judgement Day (Terminator August 26 1997 or 1995)
Which means Harry Potter and the wizarding world witnesses the muggles destroy a city instantly or major chance the world ends during the events of order of the phoenix via Judgement Day and the rise of machines or the wizarding world witnesses the downfall of voldermort just in time to watch London vanish in nuclear fire.

I had a mini break alone last week. I had dinner at a fancy Italian restaurant. Everyone around me was eating fancy meals with glasses of wine and champagne that they were clinking together. I had pizza, mousse for dessert and a mug of hot chocolate. I’m a takeaway and fast food joint kind of guy. These are not my people.
-
I suppose that if you eat out that you go somewhere where you enjoy the food and the company, if you’re able. I don’t mind “fancy” or gourmet (though my wallet sometime resents it,) but I try to avoid places where the chef goes “crazy-stupid” with the ingredients. If the food’s good, I’ll also happily eat at a “family restaurant” or a fast-food joint.
For pizza, I’ll try to go to an actual pizza restaurant if possible, unless the “other” restaurant has a reputation for serving a very good pizza.

You should never, and I sincerely repeat never write without first writing an outline of your story—ever! My story, and my protagonists, have had a new band member foisted on them by the plot-bunnies! You’ll see him around Chapter 38 or so. 😉

Andy is really not happy with me right now. He’s dyslexic, barely avoided being forced to join a monastery at gunpoint, and just got stripped naked and spanked almost hard enough to need medical attention in front of a yard full of people he’s barely met. And he also got disowned by his father in front of the same people.

I had a gastroscopy done yesterday, without any sedation, since I needed to drive myself home afterwards and carry on looking after mum. That was… unpleasant.
