Is this validation for many of us here?

Fifteen hours to SPRING!
-
Today shall be my first day of work as a CNA! I don't count the orientation day because that was just watching a few videos and filling out a bit of paperwork. Anyhow, I'm very over the moon to start in a few hours. It's an eight hour shift, from 2PM to 10PM. I can hardly wait to start getting to know the residents and my coworkers.

Switching between two different projects can get frustrating.

Ah, February, when the weather pattern resembles a roller-coaster, and my brain wants to hibernate...
-
February will do that to you in the Northern Hemisphere, especially if you live somewhere where it gets cold in the winter.
I didn’t pay attention to “Groundhog Day” this year. If the out-sized rodent wakes up and sees his shadow, we have six more weeks of winter. If he doesn’t see his shadow, we only have winter for another month and a half. If he sees Bill Murray, it’s going to be a long day.

Hmmm… I can move this scene from #8 back to #7….. Keeping it in #8 makes for a better cliffhanger, but moving it to #7 makes #7 a tad more complete. Oh, the debate I’m having with myself.

I know nothing about Gridiron, as we call it down here, but this little fact I learnt today blew me away: an average game only contains 11 minutes of action. 11 minutes! That’s astonishing to me. That contrasts to rugby league that we play down here which is two 40 minute halves, each half essentially non-stop action.
-
I haven’t seen or played it, but I’m not that heavily into “sport” or sports as we say over here. It’s on cable/satellite, but not “standard” broadcast TV. Outside of some “immigrant” communities, “rolling” football of any kind just isn’t as popular here as “American Football.” We’ve only established a professional league in 2016. More than enough “contact” between players from what I understand.

Some games are like that, Melrick. Like any sport or sports, it suits the players and spectators. Gridiron hasn’t been played at the Summer Olympics for medals, and was last demonstrated in 1932. Amazingly enough, unlike in Rugby and “Soccer” Football, the IFAF World Championship is almost unknown in the United States, even as “gridiron-crazy’ as we Americans are, and in spite of the fact that we’ve won the World Championship in every series we’ve played. IFAF Championship play started in 1999; with Japan winning the first two championships to date, and the U.S. the other three. Australia’s ranking in the last series was a respectable 5th place out of thirteen participating nations. IFAF Gridiron may actually be “safer” for the players and relies more on skill than brute power. IFAF player eligibility requirements actually block the “over-conditioned” athletes that participate in NCAA and NFL gridiron, making the game far more dependent on skill, and seeing the players slightly less hazarded to crippling injuries.

I’m guessing that I’ll be posting episode six next weekend, but no promises. (This is to Jefferey.)
-
Wish me luck on my first phlebotomy tests of the semester! I'm excited for this.
-
Jefferey episode six is now written, onto seven. (I need to get seven done before I consider re-posting five.)
-
And it looks like the new hard drive is doing the trick, for which I am profoundly grateful!
Just in time for the first round of edits for the republications….
-
I meant “ice skating”, not “ice scatting” in my notes of ideas …. should I dare to think about what ice scatting would entail? Hmm… sounds dangerous. Suppose Frosty the snowman could be involved with this.
-
Okay, the new hard drive is being treated to a clean install of Windows 10, and then I get to reinstall EVERYTHING else so I can move my files over properly.
-
For those following Jefferey, I’ve yanked episode five, Contempt, and will repost once I revise it.

Grrr… that sinking feeling you get when you realize you may have muddled and messed up an episode (or three) to the story, one of which is already posted….
