Thanks for your thoughts, dafdes and GeorgeGlass. I slightly disagree with the commitment to Buffy though. His official duty as a Watcher is to humanity, the Council and its secretiveness. Buffy is to be trained and used in the most effective manner ("The Slayer is the instrument by which we fight." /Quentin Travers). But this "sense of duty" wouldn't influence is decision since he never really acted on it. But I agree with the rest. From an emotional viewpoint, Giles is devotional and loyal to Buffy to a degree that he often fails to notice what else is going on with the others. He is also known for keeping his rational thought in stressful situations. So the argument to save further lives by saving Buffy makes sense. He'd drop Willow. I do believe Buffy wouldn't forgive him though. Can't see her bearing the knowledge about Willow's death so she can live very well. Anyone else's opinions? In Willow's favor maybe, since it's 3:1 for Buffy?

By the way, when it came to Willow and her magic, Giles was pretty ignorant. "... you don't see anything." Willow said to Giles in Something Blue and the phrase holds much truth in this regard. I disagree about the resurrection issue. Giles expressed his disapproval pretty clear in Flooded. The point is: It's permanent death (from Giles' POV) for one of the girls. Giles has to decide. Hey there, I need a little input from you guys about Giles' character. Think in the timeline around S02-S04. Giles is already to both, Willow and Buffy, emotionally attached. Willow hasn't developed her super-witchy status yet, so she's to Giles mainly a normal girl, if not a damn smart one, and not a reckoned force against the darkness. The figurative picture of Willow and Buffy, both unconscious, hanging off a cliff only held by Giles, one girl in each of his hands. He has to release one to save the other. He can't save both and there's no help. Who would he let fall down? I'm a bit torn about it, but I might have a similar scenario in a future story. Would he rather argue rationally and drop Buffy, because she's the Slayer and most likely won't have a long life anyway, where Willow has great potential to become a genius and be happy? Or would he drop Willow because, when it comes down to it, he simply loves Buffy more and is absolute loyal to her? They're both unconscious, so they can't influence his decision. The vote suffices but I'd be thrilled to read your thoughts about it as well. Thanks.

I have to check those out then. From what I've read so far, I consider You! and The Taking of Felicia Harding as your best. But there is much more I haven't read ,yet, though I won't touch your HP stories. Don't like the fandom. Neither the books nor the movies (and I tried). BUT I've warmed up in general with violence and gore content since I realized it depends on the fandom as well as expectations. I'm half through Five Women. In case some Spillow or Wangel shippers are roaming this forum: I remember that Willow is tired of life (forgot the reason) and gives herself willingly to Spike for suicidal reasons. Spike is not nice in this and there is rape, torture and bloodplay and Willow regrets her decision almost immediately; it's not a consent Master/slave story. He holds her bounded in his crypt in Sunnydale and abuses her especially orally at the beginning. Later it becomes a twisted romance of sort (I think more from Spike's site, Willow is rather just conditioned at this point) and Angel does also play a role in this story (though I don't remember which one in particular; savior or accomplice). I don't remember where I've read it (roughly one year ago) but I think it was an older story. It could have been here on AFF or on Willow shipper sites like Near Her Always or redsoulmates or elsewhere. I encountered many sites, small and big, still online or offline (Wayback machine), during googling. I don't think the story was removed entirely from the online internet, but there are so many Spillow or Wangel fics out there, it's like looking for the needle in a haystack when you don't have the title or the author's name. Oh and it's not Whispered Fire by Quwinntessa Starber (FF.net) which has a similar starting point. If someone remembers the title, the author or other hints to narrow down my search results, much thanks in advance.

I meant in general not you in particular. The few typos I saw in this story are really negligible and I noticed them only as I reread some dialogues for revisal after your last post. A misplaced comma or capital letter here and there was all I've found. *Edit: And I'm not even sure if it's intended for emphasis since in dialogue is much more allowed than in narration.

Didn't read it though... too freaky. Hmm, it might be because I'm no native but I don't see anything awful about your dialogues. Sometimes they seem a bit long perhaps. Like the person is having a monologue or giving a lecture. It could loosen them up a bit by showing what they're doing while they're speaking (pacing, looking up or down, biting their lips, chewing, narrowing their eyes, hammering the nail into the wall, stuff like that). Oh and I saw a few typos. But pointing out particular typos in reviews seems weird to me. If they'd go overboard, I'd suggest to use spellcheck or to get a beta (in general). IF you want them pointed out, even at your older stories, I'll send them per PM in the future.

Blood on the Hay was the first story I was able to read (and grasp) in two weeks and only because it's rather short and because it's weekend. Normally I read at least one chapter per day. Sometimes RL sucks!

When I stumble over something putative non-canonical, I check the release date of the story which solves the confusion in most cases. You could add "I've written this after season x or before season y was released" to your author notes. I would not see it as an AU and other readers shouldn't either (hopefully ). Otherwise the authors would have to wait years in some cases before they could start writing.
