As I understand it, the new tools make it more painless. That same tooth, busted it a few years earlier too, so it’s got a “temporary” dental cap on it… and that “temporary” cap has turned thirty, older than a number of my coworkers, makes me feel ancient.

I don’t mind the handholding readers through the worst of it. (Tags tend to be blunt instruments, no distinction between a few snow flakes and a blizzard, but that’s a digression for another day.) Also, I tend to write minor2’s as young adults. And I love to mess up my characters [as an example from Dale’s Game, Dorcia’s family tree has some ingrowth to it.] In this universe, priests do tend to be pedophiles, so I’ll let you work that out with the Reverend, but he also does believe at least some of what he’s saying, or at least in what he’s trying to achieve in the long run, ignoring his fetish for Altar boys. I do have plans to explore some of this in Dolbourne Chronicles, which I’ll get back to after I finish “the repair guy” … it’s a convoluted journey, and I enjoy writing these oneshots to focus on a narrow bit of plot/character development. Thanks for the feedback, and I’ll let you have fun with the mortuary attendants..

I still remember the drill tingling on my nerve, the dentist doing the filing, for the root canal, twenty five years ago, and that was before the drugs wore off; which really made me a miserable teenager.

The scat part’s pretty short, once you’re past that, it gets… well, not spoiling it for others. (I didn’t really feel like marking up with signs “scat start here!” and “scat ends here!”.) I do intend to bring that particular character back in the future, so this story was character development, to a degree.

Admittedly, even a critical (honest/balanced) review can leave me stinging a while. It’s kinda like getting dental work, I know it’s good for me, but it hurts to receive it. But this one wasn’t even that, so for you Clover …

Another one too scared to finished… guess that’s a sign of a good halloween story! Thank you for reviewing what you did read, and yes, I did go in deeper than I had ever before with story tags.

@CloverReef Yes, it is good they announced their intentions to leave. No, I wasn’t deaf to their tone, just elected to ignore it and try to figure out the why-they-come-to-jesus sort of moment, kinda because its the sort of reasoning that might fit into my story lines, as my stories tend to portray the bigotry and closed mindedness that can be associated with religion. @BronxWench I may not like their tone/message, but free speech, IMO, includes the right to insult the entire website as they rage quit. And, I do find some intrigue because it’s the right sort of self-righteous tone I need for some of the characters in my stories. @JayDee I’ll divide your comment by zero, happy now? @pippychick When the lines get blurred, cut back on the drinking and/or take a break. BTW, I did see the original post nearly immediately, I had elected to sleep on it, because I knew a fast reply would’ve not been a side I like to show. (I take a similar approach with concrit because my gut reaction is to get defensive, so I wait until it’s not.)
