  4. I'm mostly Irish. The rest is Swedish, which leads to an occasional desire to pillage myself. And drink mead.

  6. I'm editing and posting an older fanfic of mine, with a female protagonist. Het is not my strongest area for smut, but I do like heavy innuendo, and although the fic is not explicit, it's certainly suggestive. I find I get far fewer hits, not because it's an older game fandom, but because it's het. The slash is what "sells" in a sense. Still, I'll persist because I'm enjoying fleshing out the female canon characters and my PC protagonist, and making them strong and realistic women.

  8. I've seen it called automatic writing (not in the occult sense) or spontaneous writing. Kerouac is also associated with spontaneous writing. And Dubliners are incoherent due to proximity to the Guinness brewery... Which sort of explains more than a few of my friends and family.

  17. Bored_Straight, thanks! It's just been a crazy year altogether, but I'm on Day 8 and 20,001 words, so we'll see! I may pull it off yet, if I can keep up the 2500 words a day goal I set myself. I like a cushion... botticelliangel, all I can say is that it's addictive. You get nothing for doing this except a messy freaking draft that's usually half done and full of holes, but it's a glorious mess. I'm still tidying last year's draft and it may, just may, be worth showing to a publisher. I've surprised myself.

  22. High blood pressure is quite frightening, and I'm very glad they were able to bring it down with medication. I have family members who struggle with this so I know how very important it is that it be treated properly. Sometimes stress can masquerade as other things as well, and perhaps it is why you are still feeling light-headed and tired. Of course, I will hope the tests give you answers. And husbands never do listen when they are told not to do something. We love them in spite of it. I'll hope things do get back to normal soon for you, and remain happily uneventful and full of inspiration. For myself, I will struggle with my draft for the National Novel Writers Month competition, and tug at my hair, and mutter darkly at my muses.
