If you read the FAQ on the topic that was clearly posted in the news which is posted to the forum, the archive, emailed to all forum users, posted on Twitter as well as our Facebook page, right at the top of the FAQ there is in bold letters a Please Note that states if your password is less than 8 characters you must reset it and links to the password reset. 2. You only need one validation email on the new Archive, very similar to 90% of webpages where you create a log in. Yes, when you initially register for a forum account, that needs one two, but they are two separate systems. 3. The FAQ's are hosted here as opposed to the site because the forums preform better bandwidth-wise as well as sizeise. 4. You did not have to come here for help. You could have contact us via email or IM if you would prefer. Our contact information is listed in the Archive for everyone. 5. Yes, initially it does require a few steps, but for better security both for user accounts and the data - Again, small price to pay for a free service. Just think - You're done now, you won't have to do it again. As for the bank comment? My bank requires user name and state on the first page, then password on the 2nd, so long as the cookie is still in place - Heaven forbid that I cleared cookies or use a new device, cause then I have to remember the answers to my security question... etc etc... I like ours better!

It's how things display. On the old profiles, there was no uniformity, so we couldn't transfer that data over to the new profile. You can still view (but not edit, it is now static) your old profile by going to any old profile link. Ex: original.adult-fanfiction.org/authors.php?no=000111333 (Last set of numbers would be replaced by yours or the authors ID number) and see the rec readings listed there. But they will not transfer over to the profile located at members.adult-fanfiction.org

So please note that this is not going to happen, I'm posting this more out of curiosity. As hopefully you are aware of by now, stories showing as a wall of text or one big paragraph is a known issue. DemonGoddess is working to correct the affected chapters one at a time, scanning the over 467,000+ chapters we have on site. Now of course, users can also correct it on their own stories with out waiting for DG. My very tongue in cheek comment on this - We upgraded the code to avoid a huge crash that was going to happen at some very near time in the future because of how duck taped/MacGyver'd the whole old code was. Yes, some stories broke. In my opinion, taking the time out to fix them is a very small price to pay considering that this site is free to use and donations are optional. Now - That being said: IF we offered to make your stories a priority in the fix for a $100 donation to the site, would you do it? What about $50? $25? $10? What is it worth to a user to not have to take a little bit of time, go into the story and hit return a couple dozen times (depending on your story length)? Again, please note we are NOT doing this, I'm posting this out of curiosity only...

Ice - Your email that you use on the forum is the same as what is in the archive, so that should work. As DG said, please clear cookies, if that doesn't work, reset your password and try again.

Please make sure you have read the FAQ's linked in the news post to ensure you are completing the steps correctly. If you are still having issues, please let us know error messages etc

While some of you may find this inappropriate, considering that I own the site, that I am supposed to be the positive front etc etc, please remember that I am human too and perhaps this will help some of our policies get through a thick head or two! Yes, I will curse, and no, I do not apologize. Underage users I do not care when you signed up. If you signed up before you turned 18, PLEASE realize that not only did you lie, you broke the law. I saw some 'adult' today bitching and moaning because we deleted their stuff long after they turned 18, with out warning, so it wasn't FAIR. They were over 18 now, so what does it matter that they weren't when the posted it??? Last I checked, the law doesn't care about what age you are now, it care about the age at the time of the offense if it is an age related crime. The argument holds no water! I honestly have no idea what fucking goes through people's heads.
