It most likely is due to something in the HTML coding of the document causing issues. In the future might I suggest the copy paste function from Word.

Rogue was simply pointing out that the policy was not hidden from you and that it was clearly stated. As for our reasons, there is a huge difference between a published piece of work and something on the internet. Yes, you can pass around a paperbook as often as you'd like. Electronic formats are different. Kindle books, for example, you can only lend for two weeks. Certain Nook books you can't lend at all. Author's are taking back their rights to their fiction in that manner already. A printed work cannot be recalled or removed from the world, something on the internet you can. When it comes to fan fiction, first off, our ToS prohibits the download or copying of fiction from the site with out the author's permission: "You agree as a user of AFF that you will not download or copy any of the content within without the express permission of the original user to post the content." Secondly, Fan Fiction isn't like a published work, it hasn't been through a rigorous editing process to ensure it's error free - Often a user will remove it because they are ashamed of the quality or no longer want to be associated with the world of erotic fiction - Either way, we respect that they do not want it out there any longer and do not allow our users to pass on someone elses work for that reason. I apologize that you don't agree with our decision to respect an author's right to their own creative work, to either post it or remove it ... And yes, they do have that right as it is their creation.

To add on to what DG has already said, our staff (primarily consisting of 2 people, more when personal lives allow) review new additions to the entire archive on a weekly basis. Asking them to pause each time they encounter an error and explain what the error is would add on an excessive amount of work to their already overloaded plates. However, I will take the time to review the current warning that we are using to see if there is a way we can make it friendlier to the users. As you said though, reading would solve 99% of the issues that people have as we have outlined what needs to be in a disclaimer spelled out for people

I know that when we switch from ratings to listing how many people recommend a story that you will be able to see who recommended the story if my memory serves... But not sure about the e-mail like DG said.

First off - Your mistake was deciding to get sexual in regards to a member's 16 year old daughter. We do not allow anything about real underage people on site. Yes, another member made an inappropriate comment before realizing who the subject of the conversation was and immediately apologized. Your comment was made after the subject's age and relationship was revealed. When I first repremanded you for your action, instead of apologizing, you decided to post a flip remark. Your 'apology' should have been directed at the member, as I clearly stated in my post. Regardless of what a member states or does not state, please remember, I run the site. Even after the member stating that it was okay, I specifically stated: You did not. You were told that you needed to apologize to the member and you were told what the consequences would be if you didn't and they were enforced. There is a difference at trying to be humorous at an adult's expense and trying to be humorous at a child's expense. I understand that you come from a different culture than many of us and that English is not your native language if I remember correctly from previous correspondence; however there are socially accepted norms across much of the civilized world. Not being sexual in regards to someone's child in front of them, to their face, tends to be one. Also if I recall correctly where you come, your country has in recent years even cracked down on pedophilia, hosting a World Congress against the Sexual Exploration of Adolescents and Children, so I fail to recognize culture as an excuse for such inappropriate, insensitive, ignorant, callous, disrespectful and reprehensible comments/follow through. You are welcome to return to the Shoutbox Thursday evening when I remove the ban after work. At which point, I hope you will conduct yourself with a more mature attitude. You have a tendency to debate, if I feel like being polite and calling that, so let me also warn you now, the interpretations of your actions and the consequences are not up for debate. I was not the only one that felt that you were way out of line. The ban is the shoutbox only and only temporary, do not make me consider making it for a more extended period of time.
