So the shoutbox spawned an idea! The 12 Days of AFF to the tune of the 12 Days of Christmas! Who can come up with the best rework of the song?

Peppermint Chocolate Thumbprint Cookies Ingredients 1 cup butter 1 cup white sugar 2 eggs, separated 2 (1 ounce) squares unsweetened chocolate, melted 1 teaspoon vanilla extract 2 cups all-purpose flour 1/2 teaspoon salt 48 candy cane Hershey's kisses, unwrapped 1/3 cup granulated sugar for decoration  Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Grease cookie sheets. In a medium bowl, cream the butter and sugar together. Stir in 2 egg yolks, melted chocolate, and vanilla. Sift together the flour and salt; stir into the creamed mixture. In a small bowl, slightly beat the remaining egg whites. Roll dough into walnut sized balls. Dip balls into the egg whites, then roll in sugar (or chopped nuts if desired). Place the cookies onto the prepared cookie sheets and make a small indentation in the center with your thumb. Bake for 10 to 12 minutes in the preheated oven. When the cookies come out, press a kiss into the center of each one. Let stand, and then spread the chocolate candy like frosting, if desired. Cherry BonBon Cookies Ingredients 1/2 cup butter, softened 3/4 cup confectioners' sugar 2 tablespoon milk 1 teaspoon vanilla extract 1 1/2 cups all purpose flour 1/2 teaspoon salt 24 maraschino cherries In a mixing bowl cream butter and sugar until light and fluffy. Add milk and vanilla. Combine flour and salt; gradually add to creamed mixture. Divide dough into 24 portions; shape each portion around a cherry, forming a ball. Place on ungreased cookie sheets Bake at 350 for 18 - 20 minutes or until lightly browned. Ingredients - Glaze 1 cup confectioners' sugar 1 tablespoon butter, melted 2 tablespoon maraschino cherry juice Additional confectioners' sugar For glaze, combine sugar, butter and cherry juice. Drizzle over cookies. Dust with additional sugar.

Since we can't have a real holiday cookie exchange, I figured that I would start a thread where we can exchange our favorite holiday cookie recipes! Post if you have them, write 'em down if you want them! I'll post a few to get us started! But 1st - A very special AFF style cookie!

You and I have had discussions about Game theory, and as much as both you and I despise the men who actively play it, it works on 90 to 95% of women. O.o how did we go from characters to politicians...? On the original topic, I think it needs to be a fine balance. I like me a bad boy, but I don't want an asshole. Good example, I was seeing this guy who looked like James Dean (Ala this look http://www.poster.net/dean-james/dean-james-photo-xxl-james-dean-6231439.jpg )He had the bad boy front, rode a motorcycle, well toned, etc. God, the man just gave me the tingles! He oozed confidence and just presented himself so very well that I overlooked the fact that I never date men shorter than myself (Shallow, yes, but I was traumatized, I swear). Could he be a dick? Oh yes... Baby, he could snark with the best of him! But under it all, he is a sweet guy who loves kids and went after a dog that I saw wandering his neighborhood because I was about to cry at the thought of this dog wandering lost! We'd talk for hours about everything and nothing, but if you didn't take the time to work past the front he put up, you would never know that he was a decent guy. If you met him in a bar, he would be your typical playboy asshole type man... So yea, point being that you need that balance. The straight up douchebags that play The Game - no thank you, I want nothing to do with guys who have no issue dating multiple girls or think poorly of women, but I do want that bad boy alpha aura that'll gimme them tingles! Same goes for characters. I hate the spineless idiots and I dislike (for all they are kinda hot) the alpha ass hats, gimme an Alpha with a good dash of Beta and I'll be happy! (I know SK is totally gonna rip on me since we've had similar talks LOL)

There are so many forums and boards for that already though... That's why I'm confused as to why this would be appropriate for a fiction archive forum? I know we have other games and such but they are just quick little time wasters, not something like an epic D&D thread LOL

We've had requests for this in the past, but haven't really gotten a good reason to create one, so perhaps you can help enlighten us! I used to be very heavy in RP back on the old AOL member chats, so I know that it's fun and can spawn some interesting stories. However when it's not live I'm not seeing a value from it as it ends up being more of a round robin fic than an RP in my opinion. People do use the boards, usually in the Aimless Babble section to request RP partners, so that is available. Perhaps you could provide a little bit more information about what it would add to the forums and how it would applicable in a fiction archive setting?

Evergreen Prompt: Cont'd JayDee - You're right, it is kinda a sad piece and def not my normal, but it was meant to be uplifting in someways. I think nowadays everyone is so very focused on the 'me' and what's current that traditions and memories go to the wayside. The jump was hard... I was thinking about jumping to her getting the pendant back but it didn't feel right, so I'm glad that the jump worked out okay!

Email to technicalsupport@adult-fanfiction.org, subject Cleanup req Where a subcategory does not yet exist (this applies to the DC and Marvel top levels), start with the category req for it. Then, link to the story you need moved to the new top levels. Re-add the story to the category if it already exists, if not, I will email you when it's created, and then add it then. DO NOT delete the old story. I need that for some of the data, which I will then add to the new upload. After I'm done with that, moving any attached reviews, and adding the story rating that was pre-existing, I will delete the old story. Alternatively, this can all be posted in the category requests forum. Once I've finished with any data migration needed done for that request, expect to see the topic closed. I would also ask where there are stories in process of migration already (such as Angel in the tv subdomain), that those users do this as well. If everyone who's affected by this can help and follow the instructions above it will make the process go a lot faster as it means I only need to move reviews and rates, and change the dates to reflect the original add date, also create subcats where needed. Evergreen Prompt: Cont'd FairySlayer - I'm glad it wasn't too much. I hate stories that shove stuff down your throat, so it's good to know that I didn't do that to my readers! The leaving of the branch in my mind became a tradition to recognize the sacrifice they made for her, not only as a way to mark the anniversary of their death.
