I found the story at ff.net. I started reading it because I've had an urge to read HPNaruto crossovers and it was one of the only ones I found that I hadn't already read and that wasn't completely unreadable. I tried to point out some of the obvious problems I saw and she responded by telling me that it's her story and that I shouldn't try to tell her how to write her story and with that author's note.
-
What would your response be or your first thought (as a writer or otherwise) if you read this in an author's note: "also, look I knooow I go really fast in my stories but you’ll just have to deal with it! I don’t care! And I knoooow I get the names wrong sometimes and it’s a bit ooc, but if you don’t like that, then you’ll just have to either leave or keep your complaints to yourself. Lately I’ve been getting a couple of discouraging messages from my readers saying that I need to either slow down, that I’ve messed up the names, or some other things like that, and I don’t mind reading messages that have suggestions or a few constructive criticism , but I really don’t appreciate it when people just tell me my mistakes, if I have mistakes just ignore them, I really don’t care if you have complaints about the stupid little mistakes that really don’t make much difference. So if you have any complaints about like “You’re going to fast!” or “You kinda messed up the names and stuff,” or “I don’t think that you have this story right” yea shit like that really can piss me off and discourage me in my writing. I really like writing, it’s my best hobby, and I love getting mail from my fans who read, but I just do not care for people who tell me my mistakes that I already know about. I just do. Not. Care."

Sasuke and Sakura from Naruto. The most disgusting and wrong pairing in the history of anime. Yuck
-
Subtitles most definitely. I've only heard one decent dubbing and that was for Full Metal Alchemist, but all the rest have been just horrible. I downloaded an episode of dubbed Naruto. Oh lord.....I don't know what they did, but it was not good. Not good at all.
-
E's Otherwise sounds familiar but I can't come up with anything on it. I downloaded some episodes of Karin recently but I haven't gotten around to watching it yet. And I don't know the first one at all. I don't really have any anime that I watch that's not extremely popular, at least I don't think so, but I do have some manga. There's Kare First Love. I found a copy randomly online some time ago that somebody had scanslated and I loved it. It's actually over here now, but not many people I know have heard of it. I actually just got one of my friends hooked on it. Then there's Hot Gimmick, it's more common (it's actually a category on here), but there are still a lot of people I know who haven't heard of it. I actually just finished Volume 10, I hated the ending. I decided to check out the section and someone right in their summary says what happens in Volume 11. I wanted to cry, she just ruined it for me and what's going to happen is not something I want to see happen. I really hate it when people do that. Then there's Haru wo daiteita. I don't know how I found it, but I like the story. I like the love story between Katou and Iwaki.

Now it sounds like your just making excuses for how Sakura behaved at the beginning of the series. There was no excuse for her to treat people like crap all for the sake of this obsessive crush she had on Sasuke. I had crushes. I didn't dump friends over any crushes and in such a horrible way. I didn't constantly put other people down over any crushes. It's not a crime to act on a crush, while her behavior is seriously irritating and just pitiful, her chasing after Sasuke isn't the bad part (just annoying). It's how she treated Naruto and Ino over this stupid crush. And the bitchiness, that's not having a spine. That's being a bitch. I have a spine, but I don't go around hurting people, physically or emotionally. You mention friends who are called bitchy for being smart and opinionated, are you sure that's why people call them bitches? Sometimes people try to excuse their behavior by saying "people just don't like strong women". (And don't take this as an insult to your friends, I'm just trying to make a point. I really don't know them so I wouldn't make any assumptions about their level of bitchiness) That's not it at all. My mother is a VERY strong woman and she takes crap from no one, BUT she has never been a bitch. She has never gone around hurting people unnecessarily for ridiculous reasons. Sakura was a bitch at the beginning of the series. You could make a case for her later into the series and after the time jump, but in no way was the way she was at the beginning of the series okay.
-
Maybe I should say that I'm not a huge fan of "normal girls". The majority of normal girls I've encountered are bitches just like Sakura was. The only female friends I have would be classed as very far from the norm, no bitchiness within them. Being 12 is no excuse in my mind. I would have never, 12 or younger, treated anybody the way she treated people (i.e. Naruto, Ino, anyone who wasn't Sasuke). And really, of course she's normal. From what I've gathered, her life has been pretty much perfect. No having to watch her family get murdered, no being treated like pariah for a reason you don't even know. She gets no slack from me and I really truly can't understand how anyone could have liked her character before the time jump.

I definitely agree with you there, the most realistic are probably the equal partnerships. But out of the two, I definitely see Naruto being more likely to be the uke (if it wouldn't be going both ways) because like I said at this point, Sasuke's a weak little boy who really needs to get over himself and I just don't see Naruto that way. I agree some stories go too far with Naruto as uke, but personally I don't take those seriously. They're funny to me and that's how I enjoy them.
-
I've read a few Naruto/Ino stories, I find that I actually like them a lot. I think I prefer Ino to Sakura, for pretty much everything. While I abhor SasuSaku and I'm not a huge fan of NaruSaku, I actually kind of like SasuIno and NaruIno. She's less of a bitch than Sakura in my opinion and I don't mean in obvious behavior. I mean more personality-wise. Do you seriously seriously see Sasuke being uke to Naruto, no matter what it says in his name, with the personality and mindset that he has. Sasuke's a weak little boy with lots of issues. There's no way he'd be able to give up that kind of control and let Naruto "best" him. There's no way Sasuke would be uke to Naruto, especially not Naruto.

I dislike excessive grammar problems, because I can't get into the story. I just sit there the whole time rewriting most of it and it drives me nuts. But if there are a few I can accept it because I myself am not the greatest when it comes to things grammatical. I think my biggest pet peeve though is when people spell the character names wrong. I read one story where every single character's name was mispelled, and not just one letter missing but major mispellings. I just can't understand how someone would even think to post a story online that they hadn't bothered to check over. I haven't written anything recently, but when I did before I was obsessive about making sure I got the details right. I don't get how people could overlook something so major.
-
I'm not a writer myself, but that frustrates me too. I've seen some of the biggest piles of steaming crap get review after review after review while the truly quality stories (or even the ones that aren't completely there yet, but are still leagues above some of that other crap) get snubbed. It makes no sense to me, I don't get why people would enjoy reading horrible stories. Maybe it's a way to validate their own crappy writing.
-
I've cut down on the amount of reviews I leave, usually I stick to the people I either know will take it well or those who say that they want constructive criticism (though often they're just saying it but they don't really mean it). I don't understand why an author would just want someone to kiss their ass and tell them lies. I've done different things that require critique and I prefer for them to tell it to me straight when I'm frigging up. And I'm not really big on cushioning either (which could be part of the reason I annoy people a bit). I feel that no matter how it's said, what is being said will always remain the same. But unfortunately if you nice it up, a lot of the time people will lose the criticism and just take it as a positive. But the reason I responded was because of what happened to me the other day. This person had a story posted, and there were problems with the dialogue and the flow of the story, there were some events that took place in the canon that the author decided to put into the story, but within her storyline they made no sense. So I told her all of that and suggested that she work on it in the future. She wrote me back and told me that it's her story and she can write her story however she sees fit. And that what I wrote wasn't constructive criticism, it was just me trying to tell her what to do. But in a way, isn't that what cc is, you give an author suggestions on what you think could be done to improve their story. But in the end, she was annoyed that I had the nerve to try to help her improve her story. I have to say though, sometimes I will continue reading a story just for how an author takes cc. I've read some stories that were just mediocre and there were some obvious improvements needed, so I send out a review with these improvements. Most of the time I don't expect a good response, but if I see an author respond positively and try to put some suggestions into play and they seem like they truly would like to improve, then I'll continue reading a story just for that alone.

I don't bother with the ratings system. It's crap because despite what a lot of them think, I've noticed that A LOT of people who read fanfics have no standards whatsoever. I've seen crap get 5 stars and good stories with 2. Half the time people have bad ratings because there's somebody who had a weird grudge against them, or their good because they vote for themselves or have friends who vote for them. It's not something to go by. I usually look for an interesting summary, read the first chapter (or at least part of it) and if it's not interesting I just quit. What I find bad is that I've seen the biggest pieces of crap get raved over but some of the better stories are just ignored. And of course if you have the nerve to actually tell the truth, expect to get bitched at, by not only the author but all their discriminating readers.

Stories where a character gets raped and moves on like nothing happened and every so often (WAAAAAAY too often), they happen to decide that it was fine and they fall in love with and live happily ever after with their rapist. I bring this up because of a story I read awhile ago. It was really dumb but I kept reading it to see what crap the author would come up with next. But it quicky got too dumb and I couldn't read it anymore, but I came across it again and it just made me think of that.

Naruto's "Dattebayo", which somehow finds it's way on to the end of every sentence despite the difference in language.

That's the main reason most of the kids in my high school had cell phones. We went to a school that was far away from where most people lived and that took a long time to get to (average travel time was between 1 and 3 hours). For me, it involved taking a bus, then getting on a train, then another bus and if I missed that bus you'd have to get back on a train to take another bus. For many others it was a lot more complicated. The cell phones were so the parents could keep track of their kids and know where they were if they were late coming home or so the kids could get a hold of their parents in case something happened. I know a couple of times the train shut down or the buses stopped running. In one case, the causeway that connects the key my school was on to the main part of Florida got shut down so a lot of the kids got stuck at the school or on buses in between the school and off of the key. In my junior year, I started a research project/internship with a doctor someone connected me to and that made my schedule very irregular. I spent a lot of time walking alone and catching many buses alone, sometimes after dark. One night we were there going on 10 and I had to get on the metro and then another bus. Without a phone, my mom would have had no idea where I was or if I'd been kidnapped. I didn't have one before that point and even outside of this project there were many incidents where things would happen and my mom would have no idea where I was or what was going on. If they ban cell phones from schools, a lot of parents and kids will lose this connection. I know cell phones didn't always exist and people made do without them, but you can't deny that they've made life better in ways.
-
I never said I'd take a call in the middle of class, I would never do that. But I wouldn't have been able to take the calls after class or at lunch, many of them imporant, if I hadn't been allowed to bring my cell phone to school.
-
I've had many annoying experiences with cell phones, but I still say yes. I somewhat agree with the if you hear it, take it policy, but the phone should be given back at the end of class and the teacher should make them silence the phone. And they should have a little mark put on their record, like a Three Strikes your out kind of thing. As soon as you hit threee strikes, then ban the student's phone and if it happens again, come up with a punishment for that student. But it's unfair to say that all students should be banned from bringing their phones because of a few idiots. I have a cell phone and the main person I get calls from is my mom. Also I keep my phone silenced any time I'm in a class, theater, or any other place where it would be annoying. And there are many others who also do that. But I can see where the other side is coming from based off of experiences I had recently, before that I'd actually never really encountered any problems with cells. The annoyance for me came in the zoology class I had this last semester. There were a few idiots in the class who didn't understand the concept of classtime is for class and cell phones should be silenced, unfortunately that extended to the teacher too. We had one incident where one students phone started ringing and the teacher started to cuss the student out for it, then his phone started to ring. So from that point on, no one really took him seriously about the cell phone thing, and it got worse every time the teacher's phone went off (it happened about 5-6 times in the semester). We had one incident where the teacher was in the middle of the lecture and one student's phone rings. Instead of taking it outside like most people would, the idiot sits there are proceeds to have a 5 minute conversation in the middle of class while the teachers trying to lecture. And it wasn't a huge lecture hall with over 100 people, it was a small classroom with less than 20 so it was very noticeable and annoying. I still don't understand why the teacher didn't say anything, but I guess maybe he was still feeling a bit bad about his own cell phone incidents. Though we did have a sub at one point who came in, we had a similar incident with a girl in the class, teacher kicked her out of the classroom. That's a solution I like:)

Virgins can have sex for the first time and do it like porn stars.
-
What I find funny are the loads of women who act like he's just the best man in the world and if you say one word against him, they jump all over you like your scum.
-
With Luke and Laura, yea. One of the stupidest storylines I've heard of and the idiotic "hopeless romantics" jumped on that bandwagon.

Whenever the characters have a baby, it's always the most beatiful baby ever and always lucky enough to have escaped it's parents worst features (i.e. Snape's big nose)

Anal sex never requires any preparation (things along the lines of an enema, or even simple clean up) but also never has any "messy" results. A character can go for days with showering but somehow licking or sucking on a random body part always tastes great. When if a person is being raped, somehow all the bleeding and tearing that occurs is erotic and they always orgasm no matter how much they don't want to. Men can give birth out of their bellybuttons. No matter how absurd as long as the author wants it so it can happen. The bad guys always have 2-inch pencil dicks but the good guys are always quite well off. It doesn't matter if a person rapes you brutally, you can still fall in love with them afterwards if they apologize. The hero of a story can become a badass once they get "serious" after less than a week of hard work or studying. A person can get raped, bleed like a stuck pig and be perfectly fine the next day. Some authors just don't take constructive criticsm well, no matter how nicely it's worded. No matter how horribly a person treats you (if they cheat on you, beat you, steal all your money, etc), it's okay because it's true love and true love conquers all. All OC's are Mary Sues. And so all stories with OCs are to be avoided at all cost.

I agree completely, I like the idea of HPNaruto crossovers but some of them are truly horrible. I can only think of one that I really liked, but the author hasn't updated in months But I think I did see one that just struck me as being really odd, it was a Naruto/Gravitation Crossover. Very random and just weird.
