Had to order something called a “happy hoodie” for the old lady Siamew. She has an ear infection, is being treated for it, yet is now scratching furrows in her right ear. So, hopefully this will protect her ears from herself.3 points -

Aside from my paranoia as an adult, my parents’ homophobia is likely the only reason they haven’t figured out I’m bi. Hearing your teenage girl singing the chorus of Spill the Wine as “Do I dig that girl? Heh!” probably should have made them question things. Fortunately, Heiferlump just thinks I’m embarrassing; her reaction to me singing is to roll over, grunt, fart, and go back to sleep with her paws over her nose. Cats don’t let you get a big head. (Yeah. Almost forty and I just figured out I’ve been singing that wrong all these years. Freud would be clicking his heels with joy over that slip. And almost forty and I only noticed now that autocorrect cut my age the first time. Ugh.)3 points -

JayDee and one other reacted to Ghost-of-a-Chance for a status update
Pro Writing Aid is on such crack. I use actual line-breaks; it doesn’t recognize them as line-breaks and cries about “scenes bleeding into each other” and “mid-scene shifts in POV.” I use extra spaces, ditto, and same with several other ideas. It wasn’t even recognizing transitions, as it tends to. Well, I finally broke down and started writing this... ...every time I change to a new scene, just to hammer it in for the programming. This does not make it onto the finished product; I replace it with a proper line-break before posting because my readers aren’t morons. Well, today, PWA has something new to cry about: Make up your goddamn mind, you worthless pile of code! I can’t psychically implant into your processors that I’m changing the scene, and you can’t recognize that a scene is being changed, so what the hell am I supposed to do? Just let your tantrum drag down my writing score because you can’t find any actual errors that need to be fixed?! I swear. My writing skills have improved since I started using this app for editing, but my blood pressure has worsened. It wouldn’t be such a pain in the ass if any of the errors I’ve reported had ever been addressed instead of just happening time and time again.2 points -

Could’ve been a legit account that got hacked. AFAIK, Discord’s pretty responsive to complaints. As to art, find a real artist (there’s likely websites for that), or figure out chat GPT yourself.2 points -

TBH, the flattery can be nice. The last one I got on AO3… the spammer took a moment to read the chapter (or had AI do it), And according to what I’ve read, the request to other websites for comms, will eventually lead to $$ demands. Not sure if they *actually* produce AI generated art or not, but $$ and fanfiction mix as well as gasoline/matches .2 points -

They just spam that crap all over. I feel bad for vulnerable users who might think it is genuine and get scammed :(2 points -

How to add a story?
GeorgeGlass and one other reacted to Seaman for a topic
First of all let me say I like the new interface. Despite the trouble above it is more intuitive than the old one is and now that I have done it once I know what to expect on posting a new story I should have no further trouble. I also like being able to fix the story info myself. I’m sure you’re glad of that. One complaint I have is the timeout in the story editing screen. I’m fixing a bunch of stuff I’ve spotted and really get into it, an hour has passed, and when I click to save it, I’ve been logged out and all the work is lost. 😕 When I remember I get all paranoid and save every fifteen minutes but I don’t always remember.2 points -
A message to my fans

… Both of them. Due to depression over current events and illness I have not even completed the first draft of the next installment in my Avatar Tales series. To show I’m still alive I did dust off and polish an original work I wrote long ago then posted it in the Originals section of the archives. The Virgin and the Unicorn https://original.adult-fanfiction.org/story.php?no=600110700 I have not dropped the series, just not been able to make the creative narrative flow. In it Suki utilizes Ty Lee to prove to Sokka she’s okay if he pokes another pussy.2 points -

After poking around a bit, this is a big issue on some other archives as well. I did check Discord for that person’s handle, and got nothing, which should be the first red flag for anyone thinking about an offer like that. The only thing we can do is to remind everyone to be ever so paranoid about offers that sound too good to be true. Real artists will never spam review boards looking for work.1 point -

I never even heard of writing.com says here it’s been operating since 2000! Huh, I guess back then I was more fanfiction net (it was before the fictionpress split off and the adult content purges!) as well as livejournal, greyarchive and so on… Must have missed me by completely.1 point -

I was part of a cooperative writing project there for a bit (I swear, my life is a wild sequence of “this is going to take a while to explain,” events), so I peeked back in from time to time. It’s been a few months, so I don’t remember precisely, but I believe what happened was that the lease on the site/server/what have you ran out, and the person funding it simply decided not to renew it.1 point
