Well, that took a few weeks longer than it should have, huh?
The final chapter of The Woman in the Statue will be up Monday.  That’s not an “I swear it’ll be done by then, PLEASE BELIEVE ME!” kind of thing; it’s done, but I’ve given JayDee an advance copy of every chapter thus far, and I wasn’t about to break tradition for the finale.  They’ll have time to read it, and I’ll work on polishing it before posting it on Monday.
Be forewarned, this is the longest chapter I’ve written for this story by far, a little over 20,000 words.
So, what’s next?  Well, before anything else, I have some reviews to respond to, and a few stories I need to catch up on in terms of reviews.  @Thundercloud should know to expect a review of the grand finale of G.S.P., and I’ll try to catch up on @Tcr’s Last Full Measure, as well as @InvidiaRed’s Rationis.
After that...well, I missed the Halloween party this year, but I’ll be back next year, and of course I have a story planned for this year’s holiday party, which is likely to be my next writing project.

So, it’s been a rough few days. My mom is in hospital with congestive heart failure, exacerbated by COPD, atrial fibrillation, and Parkinson’s. It’s been one step forward and two steps back for the past 4 days, but at least I’m allowed to see her for a couple of hours each day.

So, if I’m a bit more absent, or crankier than usual, I apologize in advance.

Chapter count for The Woman in the Statue is being changed again, this time to 11 chapters.  This isn’t because I’ve added a ton more story or anything; it’s just a matter of word count.  For instance, even after splitting Chapter 10 into 10 and 11, what I have of the final chapter is still over 11,000 words, and I am not done.
Of course, I wouldn’t be posting this just to say that.  Ok, so...*deep breath*
I will be posting Chapter 10 of 11 of WitS one week from today.  That chapter is done (and JayDee’s already seen it) so that won’t be a problem.  One week after that, Chapter 11 goes up, and we finally finish this.
Full disclosure: I’m terrified.  Fingers crossed, everyone!

forgot to post this but on may 21st at 5:05am, my sister had her baby! 3lbs 5oz 13 inches! Adeline Bernice Rose! PROUD AUNTIE! they are keeping Addy at the hospital til she reaches 7 pounds! 

I’m back-ish? So much turmoil has happened in the past four months of my life and I think writing somewhat helps me. Well, it hinders more because I let events affect my writing. 
Anyway. I’ve decided to post the latest story I’d been working on. Started the story back in October and still working on it. 13 chapters already so I’ll post a chapter everyday.

You guys ever find yourselves shipping a pairing you know you shouldn’t?  Like maybe the relationship isn’t exactly healthy, or one of the characters is a hero and the other is the villain, or something like that, but you still kind of like seeing them together?

I have progressed from starting stories and not finishing them to not starting stories. Well, ok, regressed then. Which is a shame as the next unfinished one would have been about a guy finding out his Mom had a twin after finally meeting the rest of the family (after his Mom’s falling out before he was born). It’d have been dead pervy as there’d be an attraction on both sides.

THIS is why I have no faith in Reverse Dictionary. Granted, I suck at summarizing phrases and that doesn’t help the AI anyway, but its best guess for “Someone who has had wrong done to them” is VIRGIN?!

...I can’t. I just can’t even.

Sometimes when I read back over what I’ve written, it feels like I just vomited up words on a page, swept it into a pile, and called it good. Other times, like this, I wonder if I carved them out of my chest and walked away without realizing a piece of my heart was missing.  All I meant to do was get into the groove of the chapter and I stabbed myself right in the feels.
