Empty Reviews

Hi, I’ve gotten 4 reviews for three of my stories, but the emails are empty, when the site comes back online fully, will those reviews become readable for me or are they just lost to the ether?

As far as I’m aware, users may be attempting to review, but can’t yet.  That could be what’s triggering the emails.

I got another empty review late last week. It's frustrating because the reviewer doesn't get an error message, so they walk away believing that they have successfully left a review.

My guess is those reviews are lost to the ether, as the database is in read-only mode.

IF my suggestion’s easy/fast to implement, it’s to put a spanner into the works, so to speak, do basically disable the review.php script so the user gets a 403/404 error instead of being led into thinking their hard crafted review actually made it to the author.  (Of course, that’ll change this tech support topic to “why is reviewing busted”?)

If it helps, @GeorgeGlass I’ll lie and claim that it was a beautiful and glorious review…. or that it was a flame and this empty review is better

Given everything that’s going on in the archive at the moment, I’d be loath to disable reviews right now. It seems like everything we do to try and help turns around and bites us on the ass lately.
