Wow, I think those people who speak English as a second tongue can write better then those who write and speak it as their first. But there are people who do write and speak English really good too. Thanks. I think she was right to tell the girl to go hit the road. She was pissed that this girl had the gall to demand that she becomes a beta reader for her and that she demanded that she change a character for her. So was I because I saw her beg for a reader but got no one. I know I have some grammical errors in my stories but I try to fix them before I post them on the net and sometimes I make spelling errors that I do not even see till weeks or months later. I think people who want to be betas really should have a guildline of some sort to direct them in how to ask someone to let them become a beta reader for them if they are talking to them by e-mails. Actually, I think that is a good idea to have a guildline on how to become a beta reader. The Do's and the Don'ts in how to become a beta reader. In my story The Dark Elf, I don't even have smex and that's barely written out as one character is watching two others go at it till about I think close to the end of the story by three to five chapters away from the end. But what I have is mainly language and a little violence before we even get to the smex. But no one really demanded that I write a smex scene for it and most of my other stories has smex somewhere in it. Two of them has no smex scenes at all. No one complained about it. But I don't think you should write smex scenes to placate the reviewers, you write for yourself and the reviews are just bonuses to your work. Beth

As a childfree woman, I will never have any of those little ankle biters just cats and horses, if I see the parking spots for pregnant women, I fucking park in them! If someone asks, I just tell them that I don't show because I'm already overweight and I carry high. But really they do not deserve those spots. And I mean not one response. And when you say that the story will no longer be up for beta reading by anyone, they come out and ask? I hate that when that happens! One of my friends got an e-mail from a beta reader who was not asked to e-mail her or anything, asked . . . no demanded that she becomes her beta reader and that she changes one of the characters to suit her demands. My friend rejected her offer as she told her that I write for myself and if the readers like what I have fine. My friend had asked for beta readers for her story for many chapters only to find none and when she finally said screw it, it will be left as is, this girl e-mails her asking her how she'll correct her story as long as she changes one character to suit her. Needless to say, my friend rejected her. Has anyone asked for beta readers and after months of waiting for one, said in your next author note that you have dropped the request for beta readers for this and all of my stories that they finally come out and ask? I'm glad because too many people have already stated to me that the character just seems to be too Sueish to them. I don't see any Sue like tendencies in her, beyond the fact that she would rather be left alone then associate with humans. Beth

Beth ****************** Keep in mind, though, that when someone is just starting out as a writer, so-called "Mary Sue" type characters are not just common but actually a very effective way to learn the trade. It's something I certainly did at the start, and I'm not the least bit embarrassed about it. It's fine to encourage someone to begin moving away from Mary Sue characters - it's something that all writers need to do at some point - but 'abusing' is not the same as 'encouraging'. Another thing to keep in mind is that these character profiles can only really tell a part of the story. The only true way to really judge how a character is doing is from reading the story that the character is in. Only then are you truly going to get an idea of whether the character is working or not. But this could help some people to iron out some problems with a character.

I probably would tell her do you tell your friends that they can't swear in front of your kids or they have to go home? I bet she probably wouldn't say that to her friends because they would get offended and not come around anymore. I would tell her here are my rules for my house, which superseeds any rules you may give me. I will write what I want and do what I want on my computer. If you do not want your kids to be influenced by a sensable person who sees everything in a shade of gray and will speak their minds, then, I guess you will be needing to pay for a babysitter for the day for I will not hold my tongue when I'm talking to my girl, because of your kids. And if you want them to be entertained, be sure to bring their books and let me know what type of tv shows they like to watch MTV or VH1 or Speed or Golf or Food Network or the stupid Seseme Street. I bet she'll be fuming for a few minutes before storming out of the house telling you in a tone you probably would not like that she'll be back for the kids later or that she'll take the kids with her to work and get fired from it for having the kids there and blaming you for her getting fired. If JK had stated during her promotions of her last and dare I say it, lousy book, that she will be doing a HP informational book on the series in a few months or so, that I need some time to reclaim some peace in my life, the folks at the lexicon would have probably held off on doing their version. I think she is getting a bit too greedy, now that no one is waiting for her next HP book, people don't go to her website anymore (she probably noticed the views are now extremely down since the release of the final book and her comments about Dumbledore in front of children who probably loved Dumbledore only to find out that he was gay. He never seemed gay to me, personally, I saw him as a man who was moving pawns in a chess game and Harry was one of the pawns against Lord Voldemort. I think she's not that great of a writer now, I loved the series up to the last book, the last book just seemed to me, written rushly and not really given any serious thought about how lousy it was. She made Hermione and Ginny into wimpy women after they married Ron and Harry respectively. And killing off Fred, that I didn't like nor Remus's death either. Beth

Monarchs do have to listen to their council or if it was for us, the congress, which is in a way, the monarch is being a puppet for the council who does all the deeds behind the scenes. That's what England is now their house of representives are the real ruler behind the throne, Elizabeth doesn't even really make any of the laws anymore, it is the representives who do and she accepts them and makes them legit. But it would make it hard for us to go police the world any more and I would say that is a good thing cause we're not the world's police force. Beth

You would think that she was the frontrunner when she's not anymore. She is late in her attack on Obama, she has been attacking the others but not the person who is now the front runner of the candidates right now. That should have happened earlier in the process, but she had people bending her way back then now Obama has won the people over with his constant talk about what he would do and what his plans are for the country, but Hilary is basically stating the same thing over again that the other side is basically saying with no serious change. And another thing that has hurt her campaign - BILL CLINTON! She really needed to tell Bill about three months ago, to go take a bloody nap and let me handle this, you ain't a candidate anymore, Bill. He has hurt her campaign more then she has. She still think that she has the chance to win it, I say look at all the people who she once had their votes have now defected over to Obama since the other states started to hold their primaries and start to say I will fight this fight another year and back Obama and let him start his campaign against that other's side's nomination John McCain. My parents know that I write fanfiction and that I am on an adult site for fanfiction. They think it is for adults to be able to post stories without the worry of kids coming onto the site, they don't know that it is for slash/het/smut stories. They don't even know that I write smut to say the least! And my mom could always type in adult-fanfiction.org into her computer and see what this site is about and find out that it is for R and NC18 stories to be located at. But I doubt that she'll mind personally as I am over the age of 18 and I do have desires that I put on paper instead of seeking them out in RL. My dad doesn't even know how to type a URL into the browser window. He has a hard time dealing with his hotmail account! Beth

I agree with you right there, DG. A True friend would help you bury the body if needed. I don't have many true friends that I can count on one hand. Yeah, under five people are True friends. There is one person that I am so friendly with that I no longer see her as a friend but as a sister that I never had and I treat her like family. Beth

And sometimes they won't leave and troll the boards just begging for a banning. And yes, we do get model horse trolls, but rarely. Don't even start me on Neighsayers model horse board back in the late 1990's and early 2000. Now there were at least three trolls one known as Mona(who happened to be the moderator of the board, she purposely trolled the board when she would announce that she's going off to dinner. No mod in their right mind would announce that to the board! That is just fucking asking for the trolls to come out!), needlessly to say, I watched as that board was taken down. Yeah, the model horse boards are funny that way. As one of the members said, she'll learn her place on the board fast or the mods will ban her or restrict her postings for a bit. I went back there a few minutes ago and found that her post that she did was gone and went to the Real Equine thread that was moved to find her name turned to black instead of blue as in active. The mod had posted stating that she was asked to read the pinned topics on the board before she post again but she refused to do so, as she had told her that she didn't care to read the rules as they didn't mean anything to her, so she is not allowed to post in any thread or make new ones for a week. I think that is the proper punishment for her so now she will have time to read the pinned topics and learn the rules of the forum and realize where she would most likely post at and respect the rules that govern that forum. But I seriously hate noobies who don't even read the pinned topics and then post and when confronted by the moderator or a member they fien ignorance to the rules hoping that they get a free pass on not reading the rules of the forum. I was on one of my other forums that I am usually on and here is this noobie poster just posting away in a forum that was not meant for that topic but another forum and the thing is some of the posts are not even in their proper forum. Real Equine topics shouldn't be in the Resin catagory! It belongs in the Real Equine catagory! Unless the noobie is trying to get advice for a resin from a real equine which she isn't, she's asking real equine questions. People are gently reminding her where the proper place is for such topics and the girl just doesn't want to have her thread moved and when the moderator does indeed moves the thread, she recreates it right in the same location! I informed the user that she needs to read the pinned topics before she posts as they show her what that forum is about and she came back like, I don't see you posting here so why are you picking on me. I told her as gently as I could as I wanted to chew her apart, I don't post in the resin catagory very often. I post in the other catagories including the Real Equine catagory where your posts belong at. Unless you are asking about how to create a resin to be a double of a real equine. She started to bitch at me, actually used a cuss word which was replaced with I cussed here on the board but it was evident as to what she had said. Thankfully, the board had cuss filters on and they made sure that all the bad words would be made into 'I cussed here on the board' which obviously made the girl even more pissed that her posts were altered by the mods, she had no clue to that there was a board filter about cuss words. I left the board last night angry and fustrated at the girl who refused to take the warnings from the other members to either go into more depth about what she was asking or take her topics to where they rightfully belong in the Real Equine forum. I don't even know if the mods moderated her or informed her with a harsher toned post informing her where to look for her topic and this topic is now hereby closed. Beth

Yeah, they think their character or rp community is oh so special that the rules don't apply to them and when they are admonished by the moderator and the members they throw up oh but I'm special, this is a special promo or that this character is special, she or he warrants pushing aside the rules for them only. Here's one that might make people wonder what is it about? S & M. But if the summary wasn't there, you wouldn't know what it was. Here's the summary. Dawn and Kaven have kinky sex. The story deals with two characters having really kinky sex. A night to remember. Blaze asks Nami for help in losing his virginity. An offer you can't refuse. Sassy asks Shasta to marry her. Grandmother's footsteps. Nydia is a killer for the BRAWNS. And guess what? Those stories have yet to be written! Beth

I so agree with you there. I actaully inform the author that her or his author's note in the middle this sentence really distracted me from the flow of the story and I didn't even want to read on any futher then that, thus is the reason for this review. If they go back over the story and delete any in story author comments, I would reread the story and leave another review but for the most part, the author just deletes the review that I made and ignore the comment in the story itself. I deleted a story on FF.net because of the flames it got, because it added a tenth member to the fellowship. The canon police were all over the story and flamed it because it was not canon and yet these same canon police would write slash stories dealing with Legolas and Aragorn and they call it canon! WTF, was wrong with that? Beyond the fact that the author never said anything about those two characters being gay at all or in love with them. And I moved the story here where the flames have been almost nill. Beth
