As most of the authors on the site know, getting reviews is hard anymore for most. With that in mind a group of beings came up with the AFF Reviewers Association. Each month, the members are going through and finding stories in areas they read in with no reviews so that those gems that are under appreciated can get some ‘love’ too. And they are always recruiting! If you have the time and want to join contact either Shadow (http://www2.adultfan...r/18074-shadow/ ), Naqaashi (http://www2.adultfan...18134-naqaashi/), MidNigh (http://www2.adultfan.../19230-midnigh/) or Synysterstar ( http://www2.adultfan...9-synysterstar/ ) through their forum profile. The rules for it are as follows… Complete Rules for entry (as done by Shadow not me, I'm just posting it): 1) To receive the banner, 10 different stories must be reviewed within the month. 2) To receive the token if 10 reviews are not possible, do what you can but ALL reviews must be for different stories. 3) You can pick different archives for each review. We want the majority to go to archives that are severely lacking, such as TV, Celebrity, Books (NOT TWILIGHT), Final Fantasy, YuGiOh, YYH, movies, Bleach, and Manga. If you can do half for fics in these areas and half on something you normally read, it would be GREAT. Inuyasha, Naruto, Harry Potter, Games, Anime, Originals get reviews, but there are still many stories that don't. So for the other half not in one of the more desperate archives these are some you can pick from. 4) NO FLAMES!! None what so ever, if I find that someone has left a flame of any kind anywhere, not only will a mod be on your ass faster than lightning, but I will beat you with a stick. Flames are bad, no one likes them and they serve no purpose so just don't do it. 5) All entries must be posted by midnight PST on the last day of the month. If all ten are not up by then, you will not get the banner. Token yes, banner no. 6) At least 2 words need to be left for each review. No- Cute! or Awesome!- At least add 'that was' or something. The more detailed the review however, the better. 7) If you find something mistagged, be sure to let one of the staff know! That way the problem can be taken care of. 8) All reviews MUST be left on a story that has none. No review left on a story that already has any will be eligible for this. 9) All URLs for story, review page AND review ID must be posted here, if it's not we won't go looking for it and the reviews WILL NOT count. 10) Any questions, send a pm her in the forum to either Shadow, Syn, Naq or MidNigh. All three of them are in contact with me frequently so one of us will be able to get an answer to you as fast as possible. It’s not REQUIRED to do 10 fics a month, that’s only to get a banner. You can do as many as you want. Hope you can help out! And remember there is something called review karma. That means the more YOU review, the more apt you are to get some in return.

3.6 is still getting updates against those, DG. I just updated to 3.6.23 yesterday so they are still supporting that one.

Showing whose point of view they are using when switching isn't much better. Going Harry's Point of View or Ron's Point of View is enough to completely throw you off as well. Just a line break of some kind, a very simple one, is all that is needed.

I think part of the issue is that so many fics don't get finished that people are afraid that if someone says something that is less than complimentary that the author is going to get their nose out of joint then quit writing. It's a sad fact that many have done that in the past, bluntly saying that in an authors note, blaming a reviewer. It's even sadder that the author will take after people who say something less than stellar then blame said reviewer only to set off the other reviewers in a flame war. Authors are also known for blaming certain readers for lack of updates because they got their wittle feewings hurt by something they said in a review thus setting other reviewers of on them. All of this adds up to those that do review circling the wagons, hoping to get the author to ignore something that was said, praying like hell that they won't be one of the ones that just give up and abandon the story. As a side note to this crap, I don't think authors and reviewers that engage in this kind of happiness realize that what they are actually doing is detrimental to not only themselves but other authors as well. This is one of the big issues that plague fanfic sites because people are too damned afraid to review for fear that someone is either a.) going to have a screaming fit on them (as I'm sure you know they do this far too often) or b.) that a lynch mob is going to form as the readers defend the author just incase they get offended by what was said and ponder quitting so they just don't bother. That hurts ALL authors. Same with review demands. That actually drives review counts down as people don't like being blackmailed into doing something. It's all something that makes you want to bang you head on the wall and kick people repeatedly. Just my thoughts on it...
