  2. You know, it must be that time of year or something. This one was claiming "adoption" which hadn't happened. What REALLY happened is this person was impatient with the author for not updating fast enough. Profile You notice he's claiming abandonment? Well, the author is active. Both on FFN and AFF. She also happens to be a BUSY person IRL. Perhaps the fact that she ignored his pestering should have been a clue, no? This all goes back to the fact that if you think a story is abandoned, and you want to continue it, you ASK THE AUTHOR first. If that person doesn't respond/ignores you, that is NOT permission. That means you leave the story ALONE. It's a direct copy/paste This person didn't even take out the original author's name, or notes. By the way the story is also posted here. (Yes, it's the same author, she uses a different pen name on FFN). See the publish date of the so-called continuation? See the comment in the summary? Now, you cannot tell me this was a mistake. This user knew PERFECTLY well the story was not his to post. Kinda cute how he added the story he was intending on stealing to his profile as something he was reading isn't it? In any case, the first profile was deleted and the user banned. I actually wasn't going to go the full Hall of Shame. Well, I changed my mind. This user created a new profile, fully intended to re-post work not his own. So now he's here. Ain't life grand?
  3. Here is kiix's profile. As she publishes as Derekica Snake for MONEY through a publisher, I'm thinking she really wouldn't appreciate your trying to get a free copy. You should respect her as an author and BUY the book, not look for a way to pirate it. When she writes here as kiix, it's to try out new ideas and whatnot. Once her publisher accepts the submission, those stories are then pulled. I'm quite sure if you leave a message for kiix, whether on scribd or wherever, she'll gladly point you to where it is available for purchase.
  4. Why would you get slammed for her sueness, when she was written in the movie that way? She's still a canon character for the movie, despite the sue characteristics.
  5. I've finally finished the wallotext fix in books subdomain. Some interesting things I've found along the way... There are NINE different types of text encoding in the data inserts. There should only be one. Word and plain text interpret the php line break differently. Word sees that as a SPACE. Anyway, in some of the stories, because I worked with the data as it was, and didn't add anything to it; one might see some where there is not an additional line between the paragraphs. If there was only 1 line break, and not 2, that's what I got. However, the line breaks are there, so I can always go back at a later time and add that. In progress- Wallotext fix - now in buffy Buffy - chapter data repair, review board repair chapter data repair BtVS - General - complete BtVS - Round Robins - complete BtVS - FemmeSlash - in progress Finished- Cordelia/Faith, Dawn/Faith, Faith/Willow, Tara/Willow in progress - Buffy/Willow cartoons - story movement from anime to cartoon, specifically Transformers fanfiction, date/time stamp repair, review board repair Transformers: Animated - moved, fixed, sorted Transformers - G1 - repair and move in progress celeb - sort in progress
  6. except for some minor issues (which I'll fix at a later time), wallotext in books is DONE!!!

  7. I'm going to put my 2 cents in here. Something that absolutely SLAYS me is I'll see (and this is on ANY SITE I've visited) absolute and utter hacks getting a ton of reviews. Why? Because it's done by the fanpoodling minions, that's why. Whereas I'll see a helluva story get nothing at all, for a long time, because the author either writes in an obscure fandom, or an old fandom. Yet, when they finally get noticed as they should, they will get some nice reviews. Going back to the flame problem when one gives actual concrit: Again, this is supposed to be a site for adults, not children. That means that as adults, we shouldn't stoop to sending people after someone who takes the time and makes a real effort to give you what you ask for. You don't want concrit, don't ask for it. Don't waste a reviewer's time that way.
  8. I was spanked as a child, and spanked my children where it was needed. When done where it is not to excess, it is a very effective disciplinary tool. The noise of the swat tends to freak 'em out more than anything I think, and actually MAKE the child really think about what he or she did to get that kind of attention from a parent.
  9. yes you are. Link to the story on site here as well.

  11. Have you linked to your topic in your chapter telling them where the responses are? Authors who do that, get responses in their topics. Especially as we don't require your readers to register to respond to you. They only have to register if they want to use the entirety of the forum.
  12. the profile is here
  13. added to anime anime2 subdomain is for DBZ, FMA, Bey Blade and Gundam.
  14. It has not a DAMN thing to do with stubbornness. It has to do with ToS compliance. Which you would know if you read it. grumpy already knows what he has to do, as he finally responded to one of several emails sent to him regarding this. As to jordinio, tech support is easy enough to reach. All HE needs to do is send an email explaining that he can't remember his password, etc, and I'll walk him through activation. That's simple enough. Should you opt to continue not complying with the Terms of Service, which are actually straightforward, then you'll find that we "stubborn mods" have other means to stop you and grumpy from posting here at all.

  16. Profile Let's start with the title of the stolen work, shall we? NOES 9: The Dream Messenger STOLEN AND EDITED uhhhh,....I guess that means we're all blind and won't see that, right? *shakes head* I may wear glasses, and am very nearsighted, but yeesh! ...and the proof... Guess you could say none of us are that blind after all, yes?
  17. Thank you. You're not the one I was thinking of who must provide proof of age then. As I said, I can't recover your data for you. When a user and content are deleted, those records are removed from the database.
  18. First of all, we show you registered where you at BEST 15 years old at the time. Given a comment you made in a previous email, you will need to provide proof of age as instructed. Secondly, once the records are removed from the database, they are unrecoverable. If this site was html driven and not database driven, recovery might be a possibility. As the site is database driven, it is not. What was your user name previously? I may be mistaking you for another user (also underage). However, in either case, the user was 15 at best at time of registration, with no work being posted after the 18th birthday.
  19. The thing you are not considering is that there are many authors who will have a WIP for years. There are some who may only update once a year, if that. Others who go a couple years without an update. You have no idea if perhaps they've lost their inspiration for the story, lost interest in the fandom, or what. Because a story is unfinished, doesn't give someone else the right to pick it up and continue it without permission. As to us not allowing others to abuse our users in that fashion, if you have a problem with it, don't come to the site. It's that simple.
  20. The Lemon Games was removed because the author was UNDERAGE AT TIME OF POSTING. This site clearly states the users must be 18 years of age and OLDER. Not YOUNGER. Whether or not an author chooses to repost work after it's been deleted for that reason , is entirely up to the author, provided he or she is 18 years of age or older when they do this. There is no room for negotiation or wiggle room on this one. As to the story adoption, that's an EASY process. As stated above, we get reports years after the fact. That's right YEARS. When the author in question cannot provide the proof, or we can't find it, the story has to go, as unauthorized continuations, adoptions and sequels are in fact plagiarism. Most authors when approached will give a VERY clear answer to this, of yes or no when approached (whether by us after the fact, or the user who intends to do this). Sorry, if the author of the original work that's been 'adopted' without permission says no, that means no. It doesn't mean maybe, or "I'll think about it". That's simple enough, yes?
  21. In point of fact, it was not a staff member who deleted the story, but the user.
