I'll add in my nickel to this. We REQUIRE users to properly tag their stories, so that if it contains content which may be objectionable to a reader, they know to skip it. As long as the characters in question are fictional, if you look at the story tag listing, you'll see exactly what we do allow. Because it's something you don't care for, or for that matter, that I don't care for, doesn't mean the author cannot post it. As long as the author follows our ToS and CG, we do not censor content.

As a reader, that's something I would never do. Authors write, first and foremost, for themselves. You know that getting in to reading any given story. Hell, you know that when you buy a book. No, absolutely do not change the story. Your story, your words, your rules.

This is why we have ZERO tolerance in the archive for it. It happens far, far too often. That being the case, there's been a definite uptick in that with academics as well. But this is ALSO why we tell people to cite their sources here, and warn the stories if they do not. We don't consider the leaving out of a citation plagiarism, but a mistake that can be corrected. Of course, you don't have the option of having your work hidden and then deleted at uni for non correction
