Well, I installed the battle system to my own forum. Interestingly enough, it allows me to set the point field. (Wasn't sure if it WOULD). So, I have a question in to the mod writers, in that I want to be sure that if I change the field from its default point system to the store point system, if it'll screw up the modification or not. As long as it won't do that, I should have it installed in the next day or so. The one thing I'm not happy about is that if I do it the way I want, it increases the query count in topic view. Not TOO much, but I busted my butt decreasing the query counts as it is. So I have to play around with that a bit.

Yes, fixing the archive is what's going on at present. However, it is actually being COMPLETELY rewritten while the repairs are ongoing. There are so many problems with it, that rewriting is quite frankly the BEST option available. Otherwise, what we're looking at is continuing to fix things, then having even more problems crop up and crop up and crop up....etc. Aside from that, there is also the problem with the fact that the archive was written in versions of php at least 2 back from current, which means that there are obsolete function calls, and some very STICKY problems that the programming language itself was rewritten for to correct in the first place. So, you see, that's even more of a priority. Then, you have to look at the fact that the database queries that are written into the script are also written for a much earlier version of mysql. This means that queries that were set in the scripts originally when it was written, don't work the way they SHOULD now; as the QUERY structures for mysql have also changed a quite a bit. Nor do they work efficiently, which creates quite a stress on the hardware framework. Again, this creates many, many problems that are only going to be fixed with rewriting the thing entirely. Y'see this is why when manta and I have discussed this very thing, of pm systems in place for it, she's being practical by saying "use the forum, it's already set up for it". A PM system is way ahead in time frame, and NOT a priority for the archive at present.

I'm pretty sure the plan is if you want to use pm functions, that we're encouraging you to join the forum to do so. Both programs have their own unique features which can and are used for the site overall.

Still pondering it. Thing is, there has to be a way to get points into the mod, so....

dammit. The mod that I was hoping would fix the points thing I was looking at won't work. ugh. Anway, here's the next thing. I could change the settings for either the arcade or the casino (or both), so that the points accrued using them are available to use in the battle mod.

I used to belong to the Yahoo beta group. However, what I do for this forum and 5 others kinda makes it so I don't have the time I used to have to do such a task.

Have no clue about the glowstick, but to make 'em WORK, you do have to break the chambers so the stuff mixes and shake. Probably does make other stuff glow if exposed to light, but I wouldn't actually know.

I think that depends on where you live, as far as whether or not it's legal to own them. They're kinda cute, but smelly.

Knorg, As far as I know there is no minimum length for chapters. I'm fairly sure this is to allow for things like drabbles to be posted if the author wants to, as those are generally 100 words or less.

I've got some further looking to do, but it looks like I found another mod which allow me to bridge the points. In other words, all the points that are banked in the store, you should be able to transfer using this mod, to the rpg, which has an entirely different points field.

It honestly depends. For example, I work off two different machines at home. So, if I log off from the one (in forum), I then have to log back IN on the other machine. Also, after a certain point of not visiting, something like 2 or 3 hours, you will have to log back in. However, if you tell it to remember you, it still remembers your information and will autofill it. Something else you might try is to click the link to delete the cookies set by the board. It will kill the old cookie (which may still be on your machine) and then give you a new one. This board version handles cookies a bit differently than the last, so this'd probably be a good idea for you to do. If you're having this problem while you're visiting the forum, it's a cookie thing. You have to clear your browser cache, close the browser and restart it. That usually takes care of it.
