My C drive is failing so I’m going to be offline for a bit until everything is sorted. Computers, I have a great love/bitter hatred affair with them!

Oh, gee, Melrick… My advice? Stay away from solid state. Western Digital Black – go top of the line. I got the Spawn a 2Tb, and it really rocks.

SSDs are my advice for the C: drive. (An NVME SSD is even better, but that requires a recent motherboard that supports it.)

The problem I find with SSDs is that when they go, you can’t recover anything from the drive. You stand a chance, even with a drive failure, of being able to slave the failed HDD and retrieve files. The daft one learned this the hard way, and if you aren’t diligent about backing up to the cloud, or to an external HDD, you’re heading for issues. I recall something about SSDs being more heat-sensitive as well, which would be a real issue.
