Guilty. Back in 1984, my dad bought a home for about $40,000 on the condition he fix it up for the family. I was living with him at the time, and I had to help him fix up this rat trap. There was no insulation in the place at all. That was one of the better features.
He still lives in the home, btw, and only recently completed fixing the thing up. The family who sold it to him doesn't want it anymore because the neighborhood is now crime-infested.
The home has a book value of $134,000 now too.
