  1. Hello, BronxWench and all. Yikes! I wouldn’t knowingly “tweak” or fix errors just to bump a story up, either. And, up until the (truly welcome and awesome) Great Fix, the archive didn’t work like that. But now it does. 😮 What kind of “leeway” will be involved here? Obviously someone deliberately “gaming” the system isn’t cool. But does an author need to ignore a newly discovered yet potentially glaring typo, plot-hole, etc until they “unblock” themselves and post a new chapter, no matter how long that time might be? Thanks in advance, whatever your guidance might be.
  3. Hello, @DemonGoddess and all. Any hope of getting an “alignment” button installed in the Jodit editor on the archive side? On the “example” editor they put out for public view, they do have a single button that can allow the user to change text alignment. Thanks in advance either way. https://xdsoft.net/jodit/
  4. Hello, all. AI generated art is nearly worthless at its very best. More frequently, it is completely worthless, or worse. It will absolutely hallucinate, or “deliberately” get things wrong. Beyond putting gibberish on signs of all kinds, it just naturally screws things up. People don’t match the descriptions you give it. Cars, as in real, actual cars where you could Google pictures of real ones, it screws them up, and badly. Honestly, a better “bribe” would be to not generate AI art. Cheers!
  5. As a further explanation, for section separation, I had been using a trio of special characters center-justified. This almost never translates over correctly from Word to the site when uploading. I use the text editor on the archive side to adjust things like spacing and alignment once the text itself is uploaded. Thanks again in advance either way.
  6. Hi, @DemonGoddess All of them, or at least the Harry Potter and the Originals archives. The image below is what I get. Thanks in advance.
  7. Yes, friends, it’s been a while since I’ve last updated this story. The story stands, as of right this moment, at 48 chapters. There is “a version” of chapters 49-52. However, they’re an “alternate reality crossover” with a Harry Potter story that is itself a crossover of this story. Say that three times fast. I’ve also received several gracious reviews. While I answered the reviewer directly, I might (should) also post the answers here. AFF now allows the archive authors to post direct links to the AFF Forum, if they choose to do so. You probably got here by clicking the button at the bottom of the chapter. If you got here by some other means, well you know now that you can click over here directly from over there. 😉 Thanks in advance for reading.
  8. Yes friends, here it is! It’s a crossover of a crossover between the HP Universe and an Original Fiction. Four chapters have been posted so far. You are free (within reason) to discuss the story here and ask questions. Answers to any reviews may also be found here. Thanks in advance for reading.
  9. Hello, all. Prior to the last “super-upgrade,” the text editor on the archive side had a feature where you could change the alignment of the text between the default left-aligned to center-aligned, right-aligned, and “justified.” The text editor here still has that, but the one on the archive side does not. Is there any chance of getting that feature back? Thanks in advance either way.
  10. Hi, Deadman and all. I’m a little bit late to the game here. Just the same, I agree with everyone else here that 20k words in a multi-chapter story is a bit excessive. Sometimes, the story flow just won’t let you cut it any shorter. However, if that’s the case, then you had better have some very exciting and readable stuff. An alternative is to put more content in to the chapter, allowing you to split the now 24k chunk of prose into two 9k chapters and a 6k chapter while maintaining both story pacing and reader interest. When looking at stories as a reader, I tend to look for longer, but not “too long” chapters. As a rule of thumb, a 2k chapter is a “Reader’s Digest story of a story,” and more than 20k has me wondering if the writer has any clue about what they’re writing. In “published life,” Theodore Dreiser’s An American Tragedy has a chapter that’s barely two pages, plus multiple chapters that are practically novellas or at least novella length in their own right. Cheers!
  11. Thanks, @BronxWench. It works as advertised, and I uploaded a chapter.
  12. Hi, @DemonGoddess. Help! I tried logging in to the Archive side a few minutes ago, and I got the dreaded “Please activate your account first” box. Thanks in advance to you or “whomever.”
  13. Hi, all. For truly “wrong” romantic/erotic parings, I tend to go towards dark humor. So, Dipper/Mabel isn’t quite a “wrong” pairing, though it raises the question that if they married in Kentucky and divorced in Arkansas, would they still be fraternal twins. I’m thinking more along the lines of Mr. Ed/receptive Wilbur, Granny/Mr. Drysdale, Uncle Joe/every female over the age of consent, etc. Cheers!
  14. Hi, Deadman and all. How big and how strong is the table. If the table is big enough and strong enough to support two adult women performing a sex act without breaking, or if you want the table’s failure to be a feature of your story, then they use the table. Otherwise, they use the floor in front of the booth. While some furniture in some strip clubs is heavily reinforced, most of it is the exact same furniture you would buy to furnish a Denny’s or a Waffle House. So, the girls will likely be using the floor unless you mention in passing that the table was up to it, or that the ladies started on the table and ended up on the floor. Cheers!
  15. Hi, Deadman and all. Deadman, you’re making sense in how you describe the story structure you want to follow. Now, writing it “good enough” to persuade a reader to read past Chapter Two will be a hell of a challenge. Many people prefer the stories they read to mostly move in a linear manner. If your writing is good enough, you might be able to persuade them to keep reading a non-linear story. But, the “betting money” is that they will quickly abandon your work mostly unread. Of course, if your smut is “smutty enough,” they’ll read it for a wank-o-thon, and won’t give two shits about the plot or anything else. Just my two cents worth. Good luck.
