I noticed that the manga section has been pretty dead lately. Not only are very few people writing stories but the stories don't have many hits, either. It's a bit frustrating since I started writing a new manga story in August last year. I try to update frequently but I somehow doubt it has regular readers since It has no reviews. What do you guys think? Anyone making attempts at writing some manga stories? Does anyone read or review them anymore?

I understand, I absolutely suck at describing clothing. But the best advice I can give is, do some research. I was trying to think of a cool weapon to give one of my characters and i spent hours researching. I actually had more fun researching weapons than writing that scene! I even found other weapons to use for future characters. Research an be boring but it's also your friend. I still suck at describing clothing but if it's something that is seriously vital to my story, I use the wonderful world of the web to help!

Dear God, yes! I recently read a story that I really liked except the author's note at the beginning of each chapter explaining new characters introduced, when there would be flashbacks, when there would be a rape scene, etc. Then again right before that part! Annoying! FLASHBACK WARNING: RAPE SCENE Seriously? Couldn't you just put the damn flashback in italics or something? If I ever do that on accident, someone please send me a nasty email so I can smack myself.

Techno Ninja, you are so right! I have experienced a girl's version of blue balls before and though it doesn't really hurt per se, (it's more of a deep ache) it sucks big time. I'll never tease a guy again!

I have to agree with Morbid Fantasy. I use those words sometimes on purpose! If I'm writing something really dirty that's meant to be just that, then I find it funny to throw in vulgar, silly words like pussy and tits. My more serious sex scenes might use those words sometimes but i mostly use the senses to help set the mood. The taste of his lips on hers, the smell of his hair in her face, that kind of stuff is what makes the sex scene a more intimate one. It is really hard not be repetitive. There are a lot of words that I don't like to use but then I just feel like I'm using the same old stuff. I guess turn ons and turn offs just really depend on the reader. Everyone likes something different: dirty, silly, flowery, etc. I just write my own thing and hope that the ones who read it are the ones who like my words choices! (By the way, I hate penis and vagina. If you ever catch me using those it's because I'm seriously desperate for another word. Cyber slap me please!)

This may well be the stupidest question you've ever gotten but here goes: When I post stuff and see my name and pic pop up, I also see the little points bar with a dollar amount by it. On my profile page is a donate points button. I've been searching for an explanation to this without success. How did I accumulate these points? Do I get these when people visit my posts? Does 'donating' them mean that you guys get money from this? I'm all for donating these points if it means that you guys can make a profit but I don't want to do anything without completely understanding what it is I'm doing! Can you explain this procedure to me? Thanks

I must agree with Shadowknight. I'll never be a brain surgeon, but it doesn't mean I can't write a story from a surgeon's POV. I'll never be a man (unless I DO decide on that sex change operation...jk) but it doesn't mean I can't write a sex scene from a man's POV. Though personally, I tend to write sex scenes from chick view points because I like my male characters to be mysterious. It's more fun if the reader has no idea what their thinking because they'll never know what they might do or say next! I think I might challenge myself to write one from a male perspective now, just to see how it turns out.

It varies for me. One of my stories was completely finished before I posted it. Another was finished in my head but never on paper/screen until I posted the first chapter. The one I'm writing now I'm posting each chapter as I write it so it may take longer to reach completion. You never know with me. I do know that I hate reading a really great story and the last chapter is left on a cliffhanger and another chapter isn't posted for months! Or dropped completely. (Don't leave me hanging!) But I understand that inspiration fails or life gets in the way so I try not to get too upset.

It's not just about how they speak but what they say. My seven year old says words and phrases that are way above her age level and speaks very clearly but gets her tenses all screwed up. "I took a really great picture while she runned through the yard!" On the other hand, my three year old says complete sentences that seem grammatically correct but the words are slurred and strange. "Kide cat rune way." I suppose it depends on the child you are describing in the story, not just their AGE so much as their speaking abilities.

I agree with Jaded Star. I think people just don't want to step on other people's toes on here. Honestly, I'd like more constructive criticism with my stories. (I have a lot of story between sex scenes.) Some people don't hesitate to comment on spelling or grammatical errors, which they should, but you rarely see comments about the plot of the story. As others mentioned before, there are different types of stories for different types of fans up here. The 'quick fix' fans don't care about story or grammar, they just want sex so if those scenes were good, they're going to give it a great review, regardless of the fact that the actual writing was pure crap. To each his own, I suppose. I actually like a bit of both types of stories: pure sex and good story. It just depends on my mood. But crappy grammar and spelling completely turns me off to a story. I'll try to muddle through but usually just leave. Don't bother to review at all.

I write my stories for me and I post them here just to see if others enjoy them. I honestly don't look at ratings at all though I do read comments. I have to agree with the others, just write what you want. I write really lengthy stories that only have graphic sex scenes every five chapters or so. Some like it, some don't. Oh well. You should decide what you want.
