As long as I get the selfie first, the murder won't seem so horrible...

It's risk and reward; you might be horribly murdered by Cybermen, or you might run into the Doctor and Clara and get a selfie!

Sorry, no lunches high up in the air. Unless you fancy seeing my lunch twice...
As for St. Paul's Cathedral... um, NO. Because Cybermen!

I think he did just that, which is the only reason they're even running FO out his way. They tend to not bother for one subscriber, but if a whole block or subdivision yells, they listen. And knowing magus, he had the troops mustered.

::sigh:: It takes a while to run a fiber optic line and get the damned thing set up when there isn't an existing framework. Hells, I live in NYC, and my building is JUST getting FiOS, although we have another cable system that uses copper lines. Magus will be back, and raring to go after all the family time he's been having, and we can all be happy that he spends some of his time writing for his readers, for free, because he loves telling his stories as much as his readers love reading them.

I am kind of surprised they haven't repaired the existing network while working on the FO. Seems like he has enough folks in his area to get some attention. Maybe approaching the county authorities might help. There may be some encouragements that some of "the good 'ol boys" in his area might be able to offer.

I'm actually fine with Ne/Ner. It's been done before in science fiction, and works well with minimal explanation. Another character might make note of the use of the pronoun, and have an "oh, right! XX is a neutral!" sort of moment, and that's generally enough for most devoted readers of science fiction.
Just my tuppence on the topic.

I have one more book to write and three to edit before my full attention is on it. But that last book is being elusive so between editing I could write the new chapter and re-smooth a few things and muster the courage to ask my editor.
The long and the short of it is that I think about Adaptation every day. I even work on it in between books (because I promised myself I'd reach a certain place in the series before I focused entirely on the Haven series) and days when I'm feeling especially inclined.

Hrm, given the story I'm writing, I keep seeing myself dying by the horrible fate of the blood eagle. That said, it's more likely that after not paying my rent for several months I'll be discovered mummified at my computer. Hopefully having attained the exact opposite of enlightenment. I like the world and universe, can't see why people are so hellbent on ascending to higher planes of it.

No, no, it's not a waste of time at all! Actually, we do get a great deal of help from our members, which since we're a small staff, we appreciate enormously. So please, never think that you can't post something up, or ask about anything. Personally, I have no trouble checking comething out or answering questions, because in the long run, it keeps our site running smoothly.

I think there is at least an outside chance that I shall be trampled to death by the King's horse during a daring protest at some point in the future. I mean, the Queen is really old, and we're certain to have a King next. And protests in the UK are really starting to heat up...
Just saying. Probably just a matter of being in the right place, at the right time, with a leaflet about foodbanks or social housing. Or foxes. Save the foxes!
ETA: The best two placards I saw yesterday were a child with a picture of a bowl and spoon, and a caption saying: "Please Sir... Can I have some... anything?" And another guy had one that said: "Dyslexics against the cunts!"

I'm fairly sure I did die once after jumping off a cliff. Presumably, I'll try something different this time around.
Now, if I'm getting a choice, I'd prefer to die after a delicious meal, accompanied by a fine wine, and with at least three much younger men in bed with me. In reality, however, I'll most likely be trampled to death by a runaway jumper as I'm attempting to dart across Broadway to catch a bus down to my dealership to collect my car after an inspection and tune-up.

If you've ever died this topic may be triggering and so you should stop reading now. I'm serious. Get your rotting zombie/overdressed vampire/transparant ghost etc ass out of here.
I think it'll be an execution for me, probably by firing squad or decapitation. Or, possibly more likely, a freak accident involving a copy of Catch 22, two marmots, a 1958 Plymouth Fury and a telephone directory with every name containing the letter "t" crossed through.
    How about you?
