Blushing slightly at the thanks given, she brushed off the comments, "It was nothing, really. Just tradition and a little something."
Apollo and D took their leave of the head table and she reached over to snag Indril and sat him next to her. Lifting a fruit similar to a strawberry, she dipped it in chocolate and raised it to her mouth, licking the chocolate off daintily, her eyes never leaving him.
"So, tell me about yourself. I would love to know more about you if you will be joining us next year. I'm especially curious about those tattoo's of yours." She took a bite of the fruit, the red juice staining her lips. "I assume that Wench has told you of the kilt requirements, no?" Blue eyes sparkled merrily as she pictured him in a kilt.
Beside her, D watched Apollo in her element with a new man to entice and moved to sit next to Bronx. "I swear m'lady, I have no idea why she brings us to these things, she always ends up finding someone to play with." His voice dropping a bit lower, he purred into her ear, "Then again it means that I get to spend time with a lady as equal in grace, poise and beauty."

At Wench's mention of gifts, Apollo visibly blanched, recalling that she had left them sitting on the table next to where the portal had been opened. Tugging D down, she whispered in his ear and he made his regrets as he moved away and exited the hall. Covering well, Apollo continued to converse until D returned to her side, several packages in hand.
Waiting for a pause in the conversation, he placed one in front of each couples and Willow, leaving Kansas's at the empty place.
Apollo smiled at the men and Willow, "I apologize, but apparently wedding registries don't cross between worlds so I was unsure of what to get you all. However, as the lifebonds being celebrated here today began months in a house in North Carolina, I thought to provide memories. As you may or may not have noticed, and I for one hope you didn't or he won't be hired again next year, we had a photographer commemorating our time together. Each album is unique in that it features moments between each of couple, yet also has shots of your entire family now. In tradition with my family, I've only filled the first several pages, the rest are yours to fill through many long and happy years together."
With a graceful curtsy, she smiled at them and leaned back into D as they opened them.

Though I do have a question; are we allowed to post other fics here, too, or strictly "adult"? I have many stories that are fine on fanfiction.net, no BDSM, no slave-fics, no implied rape, no acted out rape, no "fuck "shit "bugger"... so is that not allowed on AFF? Does AFF only allow NC17ish fics, or is T all right, too?

Apollo ran her eyes appraisingly over the elf, a soft purr of approval sounding, "Next vacation... Oh yes, I think that will do nicely Indril."
The arrival of Hideko pulled her thoughts back to the present and she greeted the family she was introduced to, following them to the table. Settling in to the seats indicated, she looked around the hall, once again marveling at the beauty surrounding her. Nibbling on some fruit, she watched the large wedding party walk in, a fond smile gracing her lips.
Just as she was about to rise and go congratulate everyone, she watched Kansas and his betrothed scamper out the hall. Apollo chuckled and leaned into Wench, "Young love, so adorable. He's changed so much since Vacation that I would scarcely recognize him. I do believe though that before the other couples end up running out of here, I'm going to go say hello."
Standing, she tapped D's shoulder, pulling him from the conversation he'd been having with an elf sitting next to him, "Come, time for well wishes." Twitching her skirts, she walked up towards the high table, a bright smile on her face as she reached the men and Willow.
"Congratulations, all of you. And thank you for the invitation, the ceremonies were simply gorgeous." Her eyes misted again at the thought.

D laughed softly, "No, remember, I made you use water proof? I knew this was going to end up with you sniffling, you always cry at these things."
Apollo smacked him on the arm lightly, "What can I say, I'm a watering pot! And just such a special time. I mean, you know that we'd never have an opportunity to see such a celebration of love back home. That's why they did this here according to Wench. Speak of Wench," Apollo craned her head looking for her, "You're taller than most of these people... Can you see her?"
D looked around for a moment before he spotted the Wench with a man he didn't remember from vacation. Tucking her arm in his, he moved them towards Wench, revising his earlier observation as he noted she was with an elf.
As soon as they were close enough for Apollo to see Wench, she released D's arm and moved towards her, arms outstretched for a hug, "Wench! It's so good to see you! And at such a lovely occasion, oh, it was marvelous, just wonderful!"
Stepping back from the embrace she broke off her babbling and smiled over at Wench's companion, "I'm Apollo, I don't believe we've met before. This is D, my escort for the day."

Despite Wench having told her about Kansas and Erion's love, her breath caught at the sight of the youngsters in love. She tried to blow her nose as softly as possible to as to avoid interrupting, tears falling freely. D looked down at her, shaking his head at the mushy woman. Granted the vows were touching, but women...
She wasn't really much older than Kansas, but he'd reminded her of a younger brother despite not getting to know him well at vacation and to see him so happy filled her heart with joy. Apollo couldn't wait to meet the youngster that had caught his heart so strongly.

Tears glittering in her eyes, Apollo poked D in the arm. Looking down, he smiled at her and handed her one of the many hankie's he had stuck brought with just for the reason. He'd never understand women and the need to cry at weddings and christenings.
Daintily, Apollo dabbed her eyes and watched, heart soaring at the vows of love being offered.

Apollo fussed one last time with the ties holding on the detached sleeves of her dress, "I knew I shouldn't have trusted that damn elf to commission an outfit for today. Detached sleeves? Who does that???"
D straightened the fabric one last time for her, "Stop fussing woman, you only mess them up when you do."
Sighing, Apollo turned back towards the mirror, studying how the dress looked. She did have to admit that the topaz colored brocade looked marvelous against her pale skin and auburn hair, the paler embroidery and sheer sleeves a perfect counter point to the vibrant hue. Lifting her hair, she allowed D to fasten the platinum and London Blue topaz necklace before dropping it back down and placing the small circlet on her head.
Turning, she ran her eyes down D, reaching out to correct a fold in the pleats of his Black Watch kilt. They'd argued back and forth about what he was going to wear and since he refused to wear the elven style clothing that had been enclosed with her dress, she gave up and told him to wear the formal kilt he had the last night at the house. Then again, she did have to agree that the flowing style of the robes probably would have looked ridiculous on his 6'6 frame.
K stopped up in the room, pouting slightly because she'd told him they had to stay home and only D was going with. "The portal was opened, Apollo."
Nodding, she walked past him, pressing a kiss to his lips. "Its a wedding dearest, if they wanna play with you again, you will have to wait till the next vacation."
Traipsing downstairs with D following she looked at the portal for just a moment before stepping through. As she first gazed on her surroundings, she gasped. Everything seemed so much more alive and colorful. A hand touched her arm softly and she jumped, turning to find an elf standing behind her.
"M'lady, I have been instructed to bring you and your escort to the temple. If you would please..." He turned to indicate the large eagles behind him. Seeing her eyes go wide and mouth gape, he chuckled softly, "I promise you m'lady, you will be safer on these than you know."
Darting a mixed glance of fear and awe at D, she took the proffered hand and mounted, tucking her skirts in around her. "Let's get this over with then..."
As they launched into the air, her breath caught in her throat and eyes closed for a moment before she dared to look down. If she had thought stepping through that it was beautiful, she was even more awestruck from the air. Before she knew it, they were landing in front of the temple and she was being handed back down. Curtsying to the rider, she thanked him for assistance before shaking out her skirts and smoothing the small wrinkles that had formed.
"M'lady? I am Borien, one of the priests. If you would follow me?"
They followed, and when they entered the chapel, she couldn't help but smile at seeing old friends, dressed so marvelously and brimming with love for each other. At once, she knew it had been the right decision to bring the steadier D as opposed to T or K. Slipping into the seats indicated, she twined her hands with D and waited for the ceremony to begin.

My two cents as owner of the site and being one of the very few people still around that actually talked to the original creator of the site:
Was the site originally created when FF.Net started to disallow adult situations? Yes, yet it has evolved past that. It has become a place for adults to come and share their fiction no matter what it involves. We do not put limits or constrictions on what is post, requiring that there be sex or 'adult themes' like violence, abuse, etc. The only real limit that we have is that people cannot post stories based on real people under the age of 18.
Do people come here looking for smut? Yes, I know that they do and always will as we do have a reputation for smut, but nothing says that any of our authors HAVE to put something in a fic that they do not want to put in.
I read on site. Yes, sometimes I read just looking for smut, but a number of times, I read for a well written/constructed story and if there is smut? Well that is a bonus.
As I said, just my two cents.

I said when I listed the most asked for site improvements that getting our new search API integrated was number one on our list...Well, I'm proud to announce that it is being worked on as I type this and is part of the first phase of improvements that you will see on the site by the end of May. Clean up/Sort Update
ALL stories for Angel the Series have been moved from the tv subdomain to the buffy subdomain. Any new postings of AtS stories to tv will be deleted.
Books is finally complete, with the last minute repairs done where the addition of the RTE made the word exported html inserts go a bit nuts.
Buffy is now in progress for repairs.
Changed the format of the chapter data field, to allow for the long chapters which are pre-existing. At some point, someone thought it would be a good idea to change it from longtext to mediumtext in the field properties. WHY, I have no idea. The end result of that action was that most chapters kept trying to truncate. So, by putting the properties back to where they were in the first place, this has stopped this from being an issue with most of the stories. There are still some where this is an issue, and those will (more often than not) be fixed by stripping out all the excess word code in the html insert. There are also some VERY old stories with multiple chapters in one chapter upload, where even with the longtext enabled, I will have to split them to prevent further corruption.
Cartoon subdomain is in process of being moved around, also will be adding some top levels in preparation for story move for one (Transformers..most of the stories in anime are actually CARTOON based, not based on the animes). So, the upcoming structure there will be Transformers as the top level, with G1, G2, Beastwars, and etc as the 2nd level, pair types as the third level. While sorting, we are keeping track of actual pairs, for future use. Movie based fiction will stay in movies, as it's an entirely DIFFERENT universe from the cartoons and whatnot.
Teen Titans and other DC cartoon based stories will be moved to the comics subdomain. Marvel based cartoons will be moved to the xmen subdomain. Once I start moving these stories, I ask that any new loads be added to the subdomains where they are going to live in the future. For that matter, it would be helpful if you did that now with new stories.
Manta2g is rewriting some functions and scripts to allow for more than 3 levels in categories, while she rewrites the search engine script. In the meantime, I will continue to proceed and work with this in the current format. The good thing is, that while that is being rewritten, and once it's deployed, at that point, THEN I can move categories down a level (in some for instances), and then add the specific pair categories as well. In cartoons, this will apply to the current top levels which are title based, i.e. Avatar, Kim Possible (I should have that top level made this weekend), and any others that I need to make.
