  1. I like my men pretty but with powerful personalities, and at least slightly sinister, scheming, or evil. In general I am not a shota fan, but if it's a mean/cold/ruthless enough boy, I'll totally fall for him (case in point, Ciel Phantomhive). I suppose the exception to the 'sinister / evil' criteria would be the tormented woobies like Kenshin and Vash. I don't get into big guys with muscles at all. I can understand why someone else would, but I just don't. I'm not terribly fussed about the more effeminate one always being the bottom, or there having to be a distinction. It's something else about the idea of two men being together that really gets me going, and I can't quite place my finger on what it is. I think part of it has to do with the fact that there is a sort of archetypal mystique to close relationships between men (not necessarily sexual relationships), and an idea that they can be closer than a male / female couple could ever be, even if they are just friends. While I don't quite believe that's true, the idea of it really turns me on for some reason.

  2. I read this and laughed. As a writer, this is my formula. No, not the 'get-straight-to-the-sex' part, but the focusing on plot and characterization as opposed to rushing into the good stuff, which in my opinion is typically overrated. It's a bonus, but not the goal I am striving for. And I have to admit that it irks me when folks pass up a story simply because it's not riddled with grammar and spelling errors, missing punctuation or the use of too many. Or lacking that immediate gratification with the use of fluff, cuteness, straight-up sex. But who am I to tell those people what they should or shouldn't like? *shrug* In any case, I don't think I can add much to the definition of what 'good writing' is. Everything BronxWench wrote is what I feel good writing should be. Aside from the technical stuff, it becomes very a individual matter, straight down to the genre, setting, time period, sexual orientation, so on and so forth. Good writing is much too detailed to fit into a general description, but you're always going to have a critic or two. Not everyone is going to like what you write, and as long as you have a firm grasp on how to properly use the English language (or whatever language you're writing in), what you like to write is not necessarily going to be the issue.

    Explain Your Username

kurahieiritr came about because I am an on again and off again internet user. My hardcore recluse moods are to blame I suppose. I can go two or three years off line, so I have lost several screen names because I was not paying some internet carrier for service. When I whipped up this screen name, I was into watching Yu Yu Hakusho. Kura as in Kurama the demonic fox, Hiei being the fire demon, and I am a writer of course. I can have a very demonic temper cause I am Irish/Viking/Amerindian with genuine red hair that truly does reflect my inner passion. So subtle spinning of the demonic tone from Yu Yu Hakusho seemed appropriate. In the main archives here and at FFnet, I added JIO which are my full name initials for Josie I. Oden. Please do not make Josie & Pussycats cartoon cracks about my first name. I've been hearing the oh so very tired list of wise cracks since the 1970's. I have used this screen name, or azdesertlupine for several years and can't recall the majority of names I have abandoned since the early 90's. azdesertlupine is Arizona Desert Lupine, an endangered subspecies of the equally endangered Kincaid Lupine class of wild flowers found in the Saguaro National Monument West and the Ironwood National Monuments around Tucson Arizona. It was the first 3d beaded floral sculpture I ever designed.
