DevilDuck Posted September 19, 2014 Report Posted September 19, 2014 (Sorry if they has been answered elsewhere but I'm new) So I was recently convinced to join the archive and I've started by posting a mulitchapter story and I'm wondering if it would be better to post all the chapters at once or put them up one at a time on some sort of schedule? If the latter, how often? BronxWench 1
kagome26isawsome Posted September 19, 2014 Report Posted September 19, 2014 In my opinion, you should do it like once a week. Give time for people to read the first chapter and comment. Also you might want to change some stuff in the chapters later on. So I would wait.
DemonGoddess Posted September 19, 2014 Report Posted September 19, 2014 It does seem to work better for readership if you post a bit at a time, like once a week. You can even let your readers know it's finished, but you'll be posting a chapter a week, and pick a day to post. BronxWench 1
GrayNeko Posted September 19, 2014 Report Posted September 19, 2014 That's what I'm doing in moving my work over from HF. Every Saturday I post a chapter and I just finished putting up the first piece I'd written from some years ago. Tomorrow I start another story. I've also asked the same question in my review and response thread just in case some folk would like to see some work more quickly. BronxWench 1
BronxWench Posted September 20, 2014 Report Posted September 20, 2014 You do tend to develop a good readership base by posting weekly, and often garner more reviews as well. I'd recommend it myself.
Melrick Posted September 20, 2014 Report Posted September 20, 2014 Uploading a whole heap of chapters at once does tend to deter many readers from even bothering, so as others have said, one at a time over a week or so is probably the best. BronxWench 1
JayDee Posted September 20, 2014 Report Posted September 20, 2014 Gotta agree, regular schedule is the way to go. I wish I could keep regular with updates meself! BronxWench and pittwitch 2
