Hey everyone! Chapter 241 is now up! My wife and I are going to be taking a cruise soon so the series will go on a little bit of a hiatus so that we can have some relaxation time. I’ll be working here and there in the meantime but I just want to take a little bit of time to kick back, recenter myself, and then come back to continue the story. I hope everyone is doing well and I shall be back as soon as I can!

I don’t know that historically I’ve done much in the wrong pairing. However, I have a couple stories, one of which is posted here. My “wrong pairing” has been in the Buffy fandom I wrote a story that includes Dawn/Buffy/Faith/Joyce. Not necessarily a pairing but I have done gangbang stories obviously which could theoretically be a “wrong pairing”. There are a couple stories in which things got seriously dark but they aren’t really anywhere for people to read at the moment.

Given my predilection for CRPGs set in the D&D/Forgotten Realms ‘verse, probably my favorite “wrong” pairing was a series of fan fictions with Sand x Torio (Neverwinter Nights 2). That was definitely off the normal radar, but honestly, so well written that it worked. Then there was a mod written for Baldur’s Gate/Shadows of Amn, where the PC gets to romance their nemesis from the original game, their half-brother Sarevok, who spent the entire original game trying to kill the PC so he could absorb the power of their father, the dead god of murder, Bhaal. It was a major enemies to lovers twist, but again, well written enough to work. I’m not sure I’ve ever managed to write anything so spectacularly wrong and yet as perfect as those two… *sighs*

And they’re rude enough to only get it on when you’re in the bed right above them. *shakes head* No class at all… As for me, depending on what you consider “wrong,” I may have never written a right pairing. 😅 My established pairings have an extreme age difference, to put it mildly (18-20 year old man and immortal women centuries to eons old), and I’m working on a brother/sister incest pairing. As for why, it’s a bit difficult to explain. When it comes to the extreme age differences between human/nonhuman characters, there are published authors who write stuff like that (see the popular A Court of Thorns and Roses series), but to get down to why it appeals to me, I think it’s a fantasy I have as a man who’s always been unsure of himself, especially with women, and there is a fantasy of a shy, nervous young man being introduced to sex by a knowledgeable older woman. Kevin/Luzurial doesn’t exactly fit that mold since they’re both inexperienced regardless of age, but the other examples do, including the incest story (older sister/younger brother). The “why” on the incest pairings is somewhat more complex; I’ll return to that when I have time.

Update: Report 4 Signs of Awakening Part 2 Hello, Now that I’ve finally come around to updating the story, I figure I might as well mention that I have not been working the last year on making sure this most recent update was the best that I could possibly manage. In fact, I only recently started the chapter at the beginning of this August. Which is amazing, I don’t think I’ve worked on a chapter so easily. I think the advent of AI is helping me be more confident in some story segments I write instead of deleting outright like I used to. Don’t get me wrong, I’m still writing this story from scratch, but I use the tools to help with outlining and brainstorming to help my confidence levels a bit. But I suppose the real question is; why did I take so long? Well, to answer that differently than the usual gaming excuse I use, the fact it, I’ve switched jobs. This would be a simple enough process for some, but I ended up switching over to an entire industry with that job change. So it included training and certifications, and new schedules and demand for flexibility. The whole nine yards. Needless to say, I was busy, for once. And Only recently did I think I finally had the time and energy to update. Enough about me though, what about the story? Signs of awakening, both parts, I’m not going to lie they were really tough for me. I could not get a creative spark to save my life and reading back on it some I still feel like the most of it is utter garbage. I did have some favorite bits, and I’m sure that has reflected in the writing of those parts, but mostly I was just struggling to grind through. It was like the filler episode of a show, even though you know something great is on the horizon. That’s what this Report felt like for me. It was the reason I decided to Report 3 in the middle A taste of Home, because I felt like that provided a bit more inspiration. That all being said, there are a lot of bits in Report 4 where I’m like was that really necessary? Is this going to ruin something in the future? And so on. Let’s begin with the future now. A woodland Snare. It’s probably going to include an intimate moment with Alicia and Welkin, because this is how it is in both Anime and Game, and no one has suggested otherwise. Welkin could’ve been trapped in that cabin with anyone, even Selvaria, but it’s been a topic that has been silent for all this time, so I’m just going to roll with the canon. Unlike the most recent chapters, the next one should be more focused on Welkin’s perspective of events, but if there are any side characters that y’all want a perspective from, let me know. I’ll try and work them in for that chapter as I write, who knows, maybe the fresh perspectives will help keep the writing going. Anyway, I think that’s all I have. Fucked if I know tbh! I suspect the old owner just moved on. Decade+ is a decent time to run a forum. As for the writers I recently heard Deathstalker was now on A03 (under DeathstalkerLives), dunno where others went. I suspect any still active moved to other sites as DS did, so will likely show up from username searches/story titles or similar. I hadn’t been active there for a long time, I’m afraid, so don’t know any ins or outs, but I’ll edit the link out above now it’s gone.
