Hi! Apologies to Jashley for somewhat hijacking his thread, but… The home page of the archive is headed “Latest News” which is also linked to the Site Announcements on the forums. I think the cookies issue as far as losing everything is valid. Chrome (my browser of choice) used to allow me to delete specific cookies. It may well still do so, but I just threw in the towel and deleted everything. As far as the historical cache, Chrome differentiates between browsing history and cached images and files. I deleted the cached materials, but not the browsing history, and I was able to log in. I just had to do it a couple of times, because I was also in and out of the beta version, which was also setting cookies and cacheing files. When browsing in incognito mode, the browser will not allow cookies to be saved, so that’s why we ask that you turn off incognito mode until you’ve logged in and set the new site cookies. Once you’ve logged in, you can go back to incognito mode. I don’t know if this helps, but I do hope it will at least clarify.

I imagine there are people who would be into chanting and incantations. Not to mention demons and dragons for some fun. I believe there are a couple stories on here which write about that.

You have to disable the incognito/anonymous functions for this part. There’s a cookie the site sets that these functions interfere with. Once the cookie is set, you can go BACK to that browsing.

I had assumed that speaking the incantation would summon dragons & demons… it’ll remain unspoken & unwritten here.

Incognito mode is a browser setting. You would need to go into your setting on Chrome itself, and make sure you are not browsing in incognito mode. I would also recommend allowing third party cookies for the moment until you have logged in. You can turn them off again after you’ve accepted the AFF cookies at login. It’s also possible that any ad blockers you might be using could be causing an issue. You might consider whitelisting AFF on your ad blockers, or turning them off until you’ve logged in for the first time.

I didn’t even get to the point where I could accept cookies in Incognito mode.. The Yes button does not work to even continue. It has to be something systemic as it doesn’t work in any browser but it works on my phone.

DO NOT use the Incognito option while accepting the cookies and getting the new software going for you. Once you have done that, you can go back to it.

Don’t use the incognito window for this part. Once you get it all set and get past this, then you can go back to that.

That’s odd. I cannot replicate this issue. I will ask manta to look at it as well.

Just wanted to mention that adult-fanfiction is putting up an age verification screen, and not allowing me past it (for the record I have been able to assert, truthfullly, that I am over 18 for well over 50 years!). Do you or any other readers have any suggestions, on top of trying again later? Thanks David in the UK
