Wilde_Guess Posted August 5, 2022 Report Posted August 5, 2022 Hello, all. This isn’t a challenge per se. However, it’s an indirect question about your own creativity and curiousity in writing at least short-prose with a minimum of “outside” prompting. Thanks in advance. BronxWench 1 Quote
InvidiaRed Posted September 11, 2022 Report Posted September 11, 2022 Its either a single sentence, or a few thousand words no inbetween. BronxWench and Wilde_Guess 2 Quote
Desiderius Price Posted September 11, 2022 Report Posted September 11, 2022 Only 2k? How’d you keep it so short? InvidiaRed, BronxWench and Wilde_Guess 3 Quote
BronxWench Posted September 11, 2022 Report Posted September 11, 2022 I find short fiction to e actually harder to write. When the challenge prompts were more active here, I’d always wind up writing a 1,000 word flash fic, and then going back over it a few times to make something clearer, which meant trimming words elsewhere, and the next thing you know, I’d be sobbing in my coffee and longing for a cigarette. BUT flash fiction made me hone my writing. You have to grab someone’s attention, hook them, and satisfy them in 1,000 words. There’s no room for verbal clutter, and that’s not a bad thing at all. Thundercloud Posted September 12, 2022 Report Posted September 12, 2022 What are we supposed to compare against? There are loads of stuff in life that I can do easily, but will not be bothered to do...there are many taxing things that I do despite them taking serious effort...if I am assigned a task it turns easy or taxing depending on the circumstances. At the end of the day question is pretty much of the how long is a piece of string type. Quote
