PGadoury Posted February 10, 2016 Report Posted February 10, 2016 If you look at the following URL:http://hp.adult-fanfiction.org/index.phpyou'll notice that the text on the stories summaries continue off the screen. Quote
DemonGoddess Posted February 10, 2016 Report Posted February 10, 2016 That's only IF you're making it zoom in a lot, or working in a tiny window. Normal settings there is no issue. Quote
PGadoury Posted February 10, 2016 Author Report Posted February 10, 2016 (edited) I don't have this problem in other archives, and I have the same formatting for all of them. here is a screenshot. http://imgur.com/7D9JQ12 Edited February 10, 2016 by PGadoury Quote
BronxWench Posted February 10, 2016 Report Posted February 10, 2016 I was only able to duplicate this in Chrome by zooming to 150% in a window of approximately the same width (roughly 13.5 inches across). In a 100% zoom, I needed to decrease the window width to under 9 inches, but the tabs were too compressed to match the image provided. So, you might want to reduce your zoom in Chrome to prevent the overflow. Quote
PGadoury Posted February 10, 2016 Author Report Posted February 10, 2016 My display settings are 1366*768 and in get what your describing I have to zoom out to 75% in chrome. At that size I can't even read the text. Quote
BronxWench Posted February 10, 2016 Report Posted February 10, 2016 My display settings are a good bit higher, so yes, that would account for it. I'm not sure what to tell you, really. Do the stories do the same thing, or only the listing pages? Quote
PGadoury Posted February 10, 2016 Author Report Posted February 10, 2016 Just the listing pages for the one archive. Quote
DemonGoddess Posted February 10, 2016 Report Posted February 10, 2016 Okay, going by the res, I thought I'd try something on one of the tablets here. We do not currently have a selectable mobile skin, so this actually won't be addressed until we get to that point. Before we do that, we do have other coding that we have to do first. Quote
PGadoury Posted February 11, 2016 Author Report Posted February 11, 2016 I'm using my PC not a tablet. Quote
DemonGoddess Posted February 11, 2016 Report Posted February 11, 2016 With that res? That's standard for a tablet. Quote
PGadoury Posted February 11, 2016 Author Report Posted February 11, 2016 I am using a visio television. I need that resolution to read what's on the monitor. Quote
DemonGoddess Posted February 11, 2016 Report Posted February 11, 2016 I keep trying to replicate this issue, and so far, haven't been able to. IF I manage to do so, it'll point me at what needs to be addressed. Quote
DemonGoddess Posted February 11, 2016 Report Posted February 11, 2016 Try it now please, and let me know what you see. I think I found it. Quote
Guest Mistletainn Posted February 14, 2016 Report Posted February 14, 2016 I have the same problem, but with this page :http://naruto.adult-fanfiction.org/story.php?no=600096805 I'm on 5" phone screen, but even with text scaling disabled, the text still goes offscreen. But only with this and some others. Most pages were displayed normally though... Quote
BronxWench Posted February 14, 2016 Report Posted February 14, 2016 (edited) As DG updates and converts each subdomain, that error should disappear. Naruto has not yet been done, so bear with us. Please also keep in mind that support for mobile versions will follow getting the main archive completed. Edited February 14, 2016 by BronxWench Quote
DemonGoddess Posted February 14, 2016 Report Posted February 14, 2016 That has to do with text linebreaks in the story, where the user uses _______________________ < ---that sort of thing. It buggers up the screen draw, no matter what size screen you have. Quote
Guest Mistletainn Posted February 14, 2016 Report Posted February 14, 2016 Oh, okay then. Thank you. Looking forward to it. Quote
Charging Handles Forward Posted March 6, 2016 Report Posted March 6, 2016 Has anyone noticed that when adding a chapter to a story, applying "justify" to the text and then reading that chapter in its respective archive, the paragraphs in the chapter are separated by very large blank spaces? Quote
DemonGoddess Posted March 6, 2016 Report Posted March 6, 2016 You either have to not add the extra line in your word processor, as the rte reads that extra line as another paragraph, or you need to remove the extra paragraph after posting. Quote
GeorgeGlass Posted April 17, 2016 Report Posted April 17, 2016 I've just realized that in most or all of the stories and chapters that I posted in about the second half of last year, the paragraph spacing is now huge. That is, it appears that two extra line breaks were added between every paragraph. This wasn't the case when these stories and chapters were first uploaded. Is there anything to be done apart from my going back and fixing them all manually? Quote
BronxWench Posted April 17, 2016 Report Posted April 17, 2016 I don't believe so, and I know that's NOT what you wanted to hear. DG's run the fix, so if it didn't correct the spacing, it's something else, I suspect. Quote
GeorgeGlass Posted April 18, 2016 Report Posted April 18, 2016 I don't believe so, and I know that's NOT what you wanted to hear. No, but it's not entirely unexpected, either. Any ideas about how to fix it more quickly? I tried cutting the text of a chapter, pasting it into Word, using Find/Replace to replace each set of four line breaks with two, and then pasting it back into the text box and uploading it, but that was about as efficient as it sounds. Quote
BronxWench Posted April 18, 2016 Report Posted April 18, 2016 Have you tried cutting the text, pasting it into Word, and changing the formatting? I use the NoSpace style, and the enter keystroke at the end of a paragraph makes the text break for me, eliminating the need for a second enter keystroke. I find it pastes quite well to the RTE using the Paste from Word option. I still have to edit to center anything, however. It's the only thing I can't seem to carry over properly. Quote
