Selonianth Posted March 13, 2012 Report Posted March 13, 2012 I was wondering why there isn't some kind of update alert that a reader can set up. I'd like to know when stories get updated without checking on them every two days. Quote
BronxWench Posted March 14, 2012 Report Posted March 14, 2012 Many authors announce updates via email or on Twitter. At the moment, the archive does not offer an alert feature, and I do not know if that is part of the new code that is being implemented over the next few months. If it is, it will be announced with all due fanfare. Quote
Selonianth Posted March 14, 2012 Author Report Posted March 14, 2012 If it isn't in there it should be. It's a hell of a lot more damn useful than the authors doing that. I know that if I had to remember to do that everytime I uploaded a story to FFN I'd go insane. Haven't uploaded a story here yet but I'm getting ready to. Quote
DemonGoddess Posted March 14, 2012 Report Posted March 14, 2012 In the meantime, it's certainly much easier than it used to be, to check update status. You add a story to your current reading list, in your profile. Quote
Selonianth Posted March 14, 2012 Author Report Posted March 14, 2012 Didn't know that bit, it is a step in the right direction but auto-notification is the goal I'd have in mind. Quote
ApolloImperium Posted March 14, 2012 Report Posted March 14, 2012 Selonianth - Might I recommend reading the following news posts: http://www2.adult-fanfiction.org/forum/index.php/topic/19504-site-news-1-22-11/ http://www2.adult-fanfiction.org/forum/index.php/topic/28524-happy-new-year/ http://www2.adult-fanfiction.org/forum/index.php/topic/29622-brand-new-new-code-and-other-updates-read-me/ There are other suggestion topics on the same subject I could refer you to as well. I understand it's what people would like to see, as I've outlined in numerous posts in the past. If after reading those posts, you still have questions about why it's not there yet, please feel free to ask. Quote
Selonianth Posted March 14, 2012 Author Report Posted March 14, 2012 Ah... Apologies for not looking through old threads then. I understand coding can be... tricky. Quote
