Ah, I see. It's not uncommon (at AN) to see several gatherings for the same anime/interest just because no one can make a specific one. For instance, there will be three Sailor Moon shoots at AN. I plan on making all three, but some people can only make one. Either way, I can sort of understand your frustration with some people. I've seen it happen, on more than one occassion, where a person new to conventions in general tries to organize something and then fails miserably. Even some "seasoned pros" who just lack organizational skills seem to turn a simple task into something terribly complex. Hang in there, I'm sure it will work out. It's funny how something that we enjoy so much can cause us such stress.

People whom hate the president place your complaints here

To (more or less, I'm going on memory) quote Stephen Colbert "Why are you leaving? Why start following the constitution now?" All I can say is that I'm glad he's not running my country and I'll be happy when he's gone. -
It's still two months away, yes? I don't know about AX but half the stuff for AN (the con I go to) isn't decided yet and there's only 32 days before that. I know where and when some of my photoshoots are, but certainly not all of them.

Better than drugs though. It's funny because I'm working on my lastest costume as I type this.

What the heck, I'll throw my experience out there was well. I wish I was one of those woman that had it easy the first time. My then boyfriend, now husband, was very slow and considerate, but it still hurt like a son-of-a-bitch and I did bleed a lot. (Edit: Let me put this in perspective. Before I had sex, I had trouble using a regular sized tampon.) Despite the fact that it can happen, it's not likely the way I would write it. It is fiction after all. It was standard missonary, and the first time for both of us. We got experimental later. It also took me a few tries to finally orgasm, and I do require clitoral stimulation to do so. After that first time, however, no problems with achieving orgasm.

One day I will get down there. I've been going to conventions since 2004, but all up in Canada. I might make it to my first US con later this year if things work out right (money, job, etc). Damn things are addictive, I tell you.

Only when you first post the story, not after it's posted and you want to edit it. At least, not that I can see.

Along the same lines, but a different question. This character limit in the summary includes the story codes. I'm finding that I don't really have enough room for both summery and all the required codes. Is there something I'm missing about how to add story codes besides in the text box after you've uploaded the story initially? (Like where we get to choose them from a list initially)

Or more precisely, in North America "hentai" refers to anime porn while in Japan it refers to the pervert. The Japanese use other words to describe hentai, such as ero. Ecchi is a Japanese word similar to hentai, but less severe. Pretty much everyone here would be ecchi at very least.

While having the submissive guy as the effeminent one in yaoi is common, it's not required. There are yaoi series out there where the men are indeed men.

I seem to like yaoi or even gay porn to the same degree that my husband enjoys yuri and lesbian porn. I don't get crazy about it, it's just my thing. I do however have a gay male friend that enjoys watching yaoi, but he's not the fanboy type, nor does he write or do anything creative with it. He just likes to watch, sometimes more than I do.

I'm not terribly picky, so long as the words they are using fit the context. So if two people are "making love" I don't want to see words like "cock" and "pussy". But even if I run into that, I may just tilt my head to the side for a moment and then move on. So long as it's generally well written, I'm happy. But if I read something like "heat-seeking moisture missile", I might be laughing a bit too hard to continue.

Awesome, that's much better. Thank you!

My challenge is simple. PGSM fanfiction, either het, slash, femslash, whatever. I'm lonely in this category and would love company. I promise you a read and review regardless of the type of fic (I don't squick easily). (Bonus points for slash, since that's what I like best)

It's the live action version of the series. Technically not anime, and different enough from the anime and manga to merit its own category. As the only person currently posting in that section, I feel that I get more traffic in the regular Sailor Moon category as well... If it were to be thrown over into the TV category or something, I'd probably never get a single reader...
-
Yep, I've got my fics in the right category as well. Maybe I'll start a thread in the Misplaced Story forum for the Sailor Moon fiction and start figuring things out from there.

Awesome. Thanks!

Oh boy, let's see... Well, I first got into anime back in the day when the dub of Sailor Moon was airing on TV. Later I recall hearing how terribly chopped up the editted dub had been, and so in my first year of university (when I first got high speed internet) I started downloading it in Japanese. Damn, was that ever an improvement. And it turned out that one of my favourite villains had been a gay man afterall, instead of the straight (flat-chested) woman the dub had made him. Since then, Kunzite and Zoisite have been my favourite yaoi pair. As I watched anime, I started seeing shows with light or heavy BL tones to them. Utena, Yami no Matsuei, etc. And I started watching full yaoi as well, Ai no Kusabi, Boku no Sexual Harassment, etc. I had all kinds of ideas for fanfiction for years, but I always thought that my writting was terrible. Then I figured, screw it, I'll write it down anyway. Then it found its way online, and people seemed to like it. I've only written within the Sailor Moon fandom, and especially within the live action universe. Damn, some of the boys on that show were fine indeed, and of... questionable sexuality. Favourite pairings: Kunzite/Zoisite (Sailor Moon, anime and live action) Endymion/Zoisite (Sailor Moon, live action) Muraki/Tsuzuki (Yami no Matsuei) Touga/Saionji (Utena) And there's more, but that's off the top of my head at the moment. Interesting to note that I've also cosplayed as one person in each of those pairings as well. Funny how that works.
-
Yeah, it would be best to go with the Japanese names. So... Usagi/Mamoru (F/M) Haruka/Michiru (F/F) and then Senshi/Shitennou (Which would be four different F/M pairings that are often intermingled anyway) How would that look to you, PorkChop? And a question. Is there anyway to recommend that a fic that is not our own be moved? I'm sure there are plenty of authors who don't check in anymore, and I'm a bit of an organization freak about some things...
-
That's fine, it doesn't bug me that much. And yeah, a lot of my fics as well have more than one pairing, so I'd probably just stick with the categories as is. I wonder if a separate category for just "Senshi/Shitennou" would work?
-
Well, the mineral is spelt "Jadeite", the dub spelt it Jedite. I'm not sure how popular the other Senshi/Shitennou pairs are, I'd have to check... Venus/Kunzite Mercury/Zoisite Jupiter/Nephrite Mars/Jadeite I would love so see a Kunzite/Zoisite category, but I'm not sure if there are enough stories to warrant it. (It should be popular, damn it!)

That's cool, I don't mind. To each their own. (I am in the middle of writting my first straight sex scene however. It's going better than expected.) Last I heard, Tokyopop (or someone) was working to get the manga license back, and they were saying that if they got it they would keep Japanese names. Obviously they just wanted to match the DiC dub originally.
