It actually has nothing to do with procedure, but more with how the software itself works. Invisible or not, if a user "marks all posts as read", the invisible posts are also marked as read.

Having arrived early, as a proper hostess, I'm opening the house to all guests as of midnight (your time) tonight. Magically speaking, you can check in anytime on Sunday. I've overseen the stocking of the kitchens and the bars. If you miss something, please let me know and I'll send one of Apollo's kilt-clad minions to fetch it for you.
I like puttering around the house, essentially alone, before all the guests arrive. I'm looking forward to meeitng everyone and hearing their tales.
So many of us just need a break from reality, myself included.
I think I shall take a short break.
You can find me in the hot tub, contemplating the week's activities.
The Welcoming Feast is planned, and hosted graciously by Bronxwench and ApolloImperium. Thank you, ladies. Now I can enjoy the festivities with my boy toy, the mystery guest. I hope he's not allergic to wool ... that would make the kilt a bit uncomfortable for him. Oh well, if he is, he'll just have to run around starkers. Hope no one minds.

Since Apollo is busy today, I've done all the shopping for the welcoming feast, and will be prepping things so that we can be ready to feed the starving hordes properly. My kitchen is smelling terrific, btw...
And as for naked, well, yum!

Is checking in... room #2, does anyone remember where it is? Oh, well... we'll just wander around aimlessly, until we find it.
Nice to meet you, Pittwitch and Bronxwench. Oh, and there's six of us, in total, so you may expect quite the ruckus... sorry about that.

Oh, I'm not there yet! I'm still prepping the feast at home, and watching my elves try on their new kilts. They look so pretty...

OOOhhh, very excited to see your kilt wearing elves... sounds very yummy. But the house is sounding a little empty at the moment... just me and my boys here, looks like.
And by the sounds of it, they're off somewhere playing hide and seek.... It's the naked kind of hide and seek.... I promise I'll wipe down all the buttprints...

Walked into the beach house and got himself checked into room three, he was there alone unfortunatly but maybe by the end of it all that would change. either way he had extra room if some one needed it. Being an RDD Lucien looked strong he could very well back his looks up. A basic description being long mid back length hair that meets the wings on his back forming a halo around his face. a muscular build was something to be desired. And something he had plenty of. Over all his personality was respectful but fierce if need be.
As he walked to his room he looked around the house it had a nice feel to it very home like. "I like this place...its respectable.." he said quietly as he unlocked the door to his room to plop down on the bed for a moment. He looked out the window as the ocean opened up to him. The salt smell in the air and the hustle and bustle of the other people in the house made it seem to come alive. "This will be fun.." he said quietly before he wraped one wing around his body and feel gently asleep the door to his room was cracked open still.

Wanders in, bedraggled and harried looking, with Inupapa and Kouga tailing behind carrying an unconscious Sesshomaru. Grabs key, muttering to self how some beings just had to fight the whole way then wearly trudges off to my room with the others trailing behind. Waves to those around and says, "I'm sleeping in! Need me for anything and the two conscious ones will handle it!" Wanders towards the room, still muttering to myself.

I arrive at the beach house and immediately head off to the kitchen to tuck away the goodies for the welcome feast. The two elves beside me are carrying the garment bags and suitcases for our stay, and I give them each a lingering kiss before sending them up to our room to put away what little clothing we've packed. They are so charming together, one dark and elegant, and the other so golden and slightly tousled. I'm eager to get the food put away so that I can hurry upstairs to our room and join them, but I cannot help watching as their matching kilts swing around their elegantly muscled legs. They know I am watching, and put a little extra sway in their step to entice me.
Once they are out of sight, I return to the task of putting away the food for tonight's meal. I finish quickly, the memory of those swaying kilts adding impetus to my actions. As I hurry up the stairs to join my lovely elves, I feel a tingle of anticipation. This vacation is exactly what I have needed, and although I am quite tired, just the prospect of sleeping curled between Sand and Vale is more than enough for this first evening.
I reach the room, and I cannot help but smile. Sand and Vale have put away our clothing, and opened all the windows so that I can enjoy the sea air and the lovely breeze. They have also managed to shed their kilts and are curled up on the bed, kissing each other so sweetly that I am loathe to interrupt. Vale sees me first, and he and Sand both turn to smile at me, holding out their arms in welcome. This is going to be such a perfect vacation...

Slamming the driver's door of the rented four wheel drive vehicle in the grey light before dawn, I look around at the terrain wondering what the landscaping would be like after winter ends. Casavir and Bishop are a bit more careful getting out of the car, we didn't want a repeat of their reactions to seeing a mini-backhoe and garden tractor. Karnwyr sniffed around for a few minutes and found a rabbit to scare before trotting back with a wolfish grin. Casavir grabs the suitcases for me and himself, while Bishop slings his pack over his shoulder with a smirk.
We're greeted in the lobby with our room keys by the kilted staff, and Bishop grins, watching for our reactions.
When they are given kilts, Casavir's strangled baritone, "What?" is probably audible beyond the tall lobby.
I can feel that I'd turned red, and I really wish I'd gotten the nerve to warn him about this, but I hadn't found a good time. Taking his hand, I bit my lip and say, "We can talk about it in our room, things are to be voluntary, and I don't really know what to expect either."
Eying the others, Bishop still smirks and says, "See, you didn't need to borrow those extra sweaters after all. This place feels warm enough."
With a small sigh, and a touch to the sturdy necklace that held his god's symbol, Casavir said, "We should retire for rest, it was a long drive."
As soon as he said that, all those hours of driving hit me, and I was eager to get to our room and find the bathroom and some sleep. I hung up my nicer things and left the others to unpack in the morning. Bishop watched me enough to remind me he was much nicer than this kind of chore. So I settled next to him on my side, facing him but not quite touching, until he slid his arm under my head so out foreheads touched. Sleep won't be taking long to pull me down, and I'm nearly asleep beside Bishop when Casavir finished his prayers and settled on my other side, spooning along my back with his arm over me.
Holding Casavir's arm, I slide my left palm under Bishops's stubbly cheek, and I'm asleep before I can count even five breaths.

Hanging out on the deck, Myron watches as the guests arrive, leaning onto the railing, an impish grin tugging at his pale pink lips. His raven black hair stands up in every direction, and the steel grey eyes study every detail of each guest. Swigging at the bottle of beer in his hand he wonders why all the other guys are getting kilts, and swears under his breath "there's no effing way Willy's going to get me to wear one". As an afterthought he wonders if bringing all OC's was really such a good idea.
I'm still dozing in bed (you know, since I finally got it all to myself).
Jude's gone out to take a look at the BBQ, and he said something about wanting to walk down to the ocean, if he can get Myron to go with him.
Yuji and Satoshi have taken over the billiard table, and Yuji keeps cracking dirty jokes at Satoshi, as they take turns beating each other at the game. They've already downed a couple of beers each and their e-cigarettes seem to be glued to their lips. (They made a big fuzz about not getting to smoke inside, but I told them it was the electronic ones or they wouldn't be coming. The e-cigarettes are odorless and harmless to others, so you won't even notice they're smoking.)
Kansas is wandering around the house, peeking into corners and closets and unlocked bedrooms, just to see who's here... hope he won't get into trouble. Be warned. He has the most disarming smile of them all... there's no escape once he pulls that out.

The three of them land on the long front porch, grateful for having finally made it. They may be able to travel the ninja way, but that doesn't mean it wasn't a long trip. She straightenes her pack on her back as Yamato pulls the door open for her. Kakashi waves a hand and she steps into the lobby. She grins as the guys are handed their kilts and they both raise an eyebrow and stare at her. "Um, oops. Forgot about that," she says with a blush. Kakashi rolls his eyes and glances at Yamato who shrugs.
They grab their room keys and head up the three flights of steps. She drops her pack onto the floor with a moan and flops down onto the bed. "Oh, God, this feels good."
"You know, there are things that feel better." Kakashi grins.
"Didn't you mention a hot tub?" Yamato asks.
She nods. "Yes, but we should get unpacked and settled first. And they've got a whole bunch of stuff planned, so I want to spend some of today trying out the bed." She grins wickedly and both men stare.
Yamato looks at Kakashi. "Forget the hot tub." He says.
Kakashi nods. "Forget unpacking," he replies and before she realizes their intention, they've dragged her onto the bed.
"Forget being tired." she says. "But...try to remember there are other guests already here..."
Kakashi chuckles. "We're not the one that makes all the noise."

    Staff Inspection
The stately genteman in a gray flannel day suit spoke quietly to the graying woman who lazed in the hot tub. "Mistress, the staff has been assembled, per your request."
"Very good, Henry." She smiled and stretched, stood and asked, "Hand me my robe please?"
The butler nodded as he reached for the fluffy white robe resting on the lounge chair near his Mistress
"The other guests have begun to arrive?"
    "Yes, ma'am," he replied smoothly.
    "Any concerns?"
    "Ma'am?"
"Anything that causes you concern, Henry. I trust your judgment," she explained as they strolled side by side to the main floor where the black and white clad staff stood loosely at attention.
"Well, ma'am, there seems to be an unconscious fellow who was brought in by a rather harried looking woman ..." he began hesitantly.
"Ah, yes, it would seem Sesshomaru has indeed given Danyealle a hard time about accompanying her," she explained softly, so only Henry could hear. "Please don't fret, dear. She'll treat him well. He's just a bit difficult to manage."
"As you say, madam," Henry agreed with a quick nod."
The hostess rested her hand on his arm, gently in reassurance. "Remember dear Henry, the house, as well as the whole of the island, just to be safe, have been charmed for a Violence Free Vacation. No real harm can come to anyone here. Anything that happens ... well, has been agreed upon by the parties involved."
"I know, madam. I was just concerned since this one arrived unable to consent," Henry continued.
"The charm would not have allowed him to be brought onto the island if he were in true danger," she detailed for his peace of mind.
"Good to know, madam," he gestured toward the anxious appearing staff. "There is also a winged fellow who promptly fell asleep upon arrival."
"Really? Hmmmmm, I shall endeavor to introduce myself as soon as possible," she mused aloud. "Your staff looks well-prepared."
"Thank you, madam," Henry answered proudly, beaming.
"The beds have all been made? None of those scratchy sheets? The good ones, yes?" She queried nervously.
"Yes, madam. As you instructed, the Egyptian cotton sheets."
"Phew, relief. I hate scratchy sheets." She giggled then proceeded to inspect each staff member closely, paying strict attention to their hands. "Very good then. I know Henry has already explained the rules to you, but allow me to refresh and reinforce those for you. First, anything and anyone you see here is to be kept private. What happens on vacation stays on vacation. If I hear that anyone has breached my trust, you shall regret that choice most deeply. Secondly, you will notice that some guests will arrive with private attendants. You are uniformed to set you apart. Do not allow yourselves to be caught out of uniform. Third, you will address my guests as Sir, or Ma'am. As such, the appropriate responses to requests are, 'Yes, sir,' 'No, sir,' 'Yes, ma'am,' or 'No, ma'am.' Any requests must be presented immediately to Henry who il coordinate them." She paused to look more closely at a young man's hands. "Clean these nails, sir."
"Ma'am, yes Ma'am," he answered immediately.
"All guests shall be served from the left ... unless they are left-handed, in which case you will serve from the right," she muttered. "I cannot tell you all how much that little nicety annoys me when it is ignored."
In unison, the staff, with Henry's prodding, answered, "Ma'am, yes ma'am."
"Good. Lastly, until my pet arrives, my glass is to remain full. I don't care who fills it, just that I always have something to drink."
"Ma'am, yes ma'am," the black and whites answered.
"Once my pet has arrived, that duty will fall to him." She turned to Henry, "Has he arrived yet?"
"Yes ma'am. I escorted him to your room and he asked for some time to recover from the rigors of international travel."
"I take it that he fell asleep?" She chuckled, a smile lighting her features.
    "Indeed he did, ma'am."
"It's all right, Henry. He'll answer to me. Also, there is a woman in room 18, who has been here, but hiding. Please send up a light meal for her?"
"As you wish, madam," Henry answered politely.
"The staff is dismissed." She looked up at Henry and added, "I shall be showering and dressing for the delicious feast. Assist Bronxwench in anyway necessary in the kitchen. If there are any emergencies, you may interrupt me."
"Yes, ma'am," Henry replied with a smile on his face, pleased that his staff had passed muster.
"Oh, and Henry?" She paused until she was sure he heard her, "Send Rogue a bottle of wine in room 6?"
"As you wish, madam," he agreed with a small bow.

Oh gawd hahaha, *shoots another kangaroo from power line*. Ok, I have the guinea pigs running on their treadmills to power my pooter... so here is my response to the wonder boy’s (wandering_addict) tag! (I got around to filling this out way faster than either of us thought, yeah? )
    1. How about a brief introduction of yourself?
Hmmm... am I the only one who finds these bio things hard to do? Ok...my name, fawnheart, is actually a name I made up for a tauren shaman in the first story I ever wrote. I liked the name and used it – even though I’ve never played a tauren or a shaman before so yeah, haha, I know that’s a little odd... o.0. I do people’s nails and wax their foofas, legs and eyebrows and wash their feet for a living (anyone who thinks that being a beautician is glamorous needs to think again hahaha) Sometimes I get to rip the hair off a body builder and that’s always a lot of fun because then I get to rub oil all over their tortured muscles *sigh*! I love my work though, no matter how glamorous it isn’t hahaha, I love making people feel good. It makes me feel good too. I’d much rather point out the good that I see than the bad...unless it’s about myself of course but isn’t everyone like that? Yeah? No? Oh...hmm...moving right along hehe. But you know, being positive is better for business,
    2. Fabulous! And what got you into fanfiction to begin with?
Well, my bigger more aggressive half was a sailor and I tended to get dragged around the country behind him everywhere he was sent. It always takes a little time to get established again in any new place so at first I played WoW to fill in time between appointments, then I got addicted and kept appointments to fill in time between raids hahaha No, well, yeah actually... but nah, so then a friend introduced me to AFF and I was like HOLY SNAPPING ARMPITS SOME OF THIS SHIT IS HOT!! I’d never seen anything like it in my sheltered little existence and just like that I was inspired to write nawty smut myself! I mean...I was inspired to write fanfiction....about WoW...you know?
    3. I see, so what kind of fanfiction do you like to write?
I’ve only ever written fanfiction about World of Warcraft...I tend to get obsessed with things and yeah, that was my obsession for ages.
    4. Do you tend to write the same pairings/characters? Or are you a fandom whore?
I’m just trying to figure out what ‘fandom whore’ means hahaha! Does that mean if Thassarian and Varian Wynne were real people, would I do them? Blood oath I would! No, seriously, I write my own OC’s into WoW settings because I’m too lazy to make up my own world lol. Does that make me a fandom whore? Or just a lazy one?
    5. What is your more popular fanfic and why do you think people like it so?
Ok...I think my most popular fanfic was An Idiot’s Tale. I think people liked the original version the best though, not so much the current re-write, and I think people liked it because it was really heart wrenching and just plain confronting in certain places. I used a lot of violence, torture and things like that in the first version because I didn’t know how to shock/create suspense or much of anything else when I first started writing (and still, I only know how to coin those phrases, not employ them lol). To be truthful, I think the original story was much rawer, and much more powerful because of it than it is now. Or maybe I'm just having a wank hehe. Truthfully though, I’d always thought the shock value thing wasn’t the best way to go about making a story but now I’m not so sure!
    6. Forget other people, what is the fanfic you've written you're most proud of?
Ah, my personal favorite is The Forsaken’s Tale. I definitely think that was my best, and the one I’m most proud of. The first few chapters of Exiled in Azeroth are my next favorite and the Adventures of Fynn is my third favorite.
    7. Do you find writing easy? Hard? What are the most difficult aspects of writing you struggle with?Writing used to flow for me really easily but not so much lately. I think the desert sucked the words out of me but I’m pretty confident that’s gonna change soon baby! I struggle with grammar, being sufficiently descriptive, thinking too much about what people will or won’t like haha. That kinda thing
    8. Write a few sentences of so of your favorite pairing or character.
"Yeah yeah I know. You doubt I'll survive long here." Aerandir gave Ba'ith a dry look. "We ready?"
"You seem to be a fast learner from what I've seen." The assassin angled his face down a little closer to Aerandir's and his eyes blazed liquid silver. "Learn quickly, then, that I don't like being interrupted. I hold Erandil in my heart and I didn't like him much when I first met him, but know this, I like you even less. He's where he is now because you lacked the discipline to control your temper, the way you can't control your acidic tongue. This time though, instead of just hurting your mother, you've killed your brother."
Aerandir's mouth gaped slightly, how did the assassin even know about his mother?
Misinterpreting Aerandir's open-mouthed surprise as an attempt to interrupt again, Ba'ith raised a hand in warning. "I'm not interested in your excuses. While we're here, you will shut your mouth and do what I say, the instant I say it. Or you will die...and I won't shed even the slightest tear. Understand?"
...I kinda have a bit of a crush on Ba’ith...
    9. Are there any fanfiction trends/clichés you can't stand or are just sick of?
Nah not really...I’m always up for a good story, whether it’s cliché or trendy or otherwise. It’s only fanfic after all. I’m just here to learn, practice, pick up a few new ‘skills’ to surprise my husbear with (hehe) and generally enjoy the fruit of people’s efforts, which they so generously give for free for our entertainment.
    10. Are you guilty of any of the fanfiction trends/clichés you now hate? Or any other ones?
Hahaha yeah, sometimes I manage to spin a good tale lol...no, I know that’s not what this question means hahaha. Um... I’ve no doubt that I’m guilty of tones of literary sins but I’m not yet experienced enough to know what they are but I’m getting better. I usually rely on feedback to learn what I did wrong or right and if my writing has improved at all, I can credit that directly to wandering_addict’s help. He’s such a little bloody genius, I just wuv him! And he’s so generous with his time to give writers so much help for nothing other than that he feels like doing it. Yeah, best bloke on the net...even if he does tag me with things that disclose way more about me than I’d usually like anyone to know hahaha Meh, is all in good fun, yeah?
    11. What was the first fandom you wrote for? Do you still like/participate in it?
The first fandom I wrote for was WoW and I still like it but the drive is far less now that I don’t have heaps of pent up frustration from having 12 year olds playing blood elves kick my arse in pvp lol...the little shits...
    12. Name your OTPs or most frequently written pairings/characters and explain what it is about them you love to write.
My most frequently written pairings are Eraik/Aerandir. I don’t know why hahaha, it used to be Morag/Erandil but then I re-wrote things and now the poor buggers don’t get to rip their gear off for ages and even then only once or twice out of about 30 chapters! Oh I don’t wanna think about it too much or I’ll obsess about it and re-write the freakin’ story ... again...
    13. What would you call your writing "style"?
Um...fantasy adventure? Seat of my pants? I don’t really plan or plot much if that’s what this question is asking, I tend to just sit down and write...hence all the freakin’ re-writes!
    14. Do you read other people's fanfic? If so, what do you find yourself reading the most?
I used to read heaps but not lately. I plan to remedy that though. I used to read mostly about Wow...and...it almost feels blasphemous to say this...but I also used to read fanfics about Narnia! I know. Aslan would look at me with big, sad, disappointed lion eyes...other than that, I like reading any fanfic that has a really good, gritty, nasty villain in it. And other that, I love reading anything wandering_addict writes. Honestly, that boy could write about a squished worm and it would just be the most brilliant, intense, fantastic thing!
    15. Name one thing you'd LOVE to write, but have been too afraid or shy to do.
Okay I’ll be honest here. I want to write something really, really dark and brutal with lots of psychological angst and trauma in it, but I have such a bizarre sense of humour I’d probably stick something completely random in at some really inappropriate point to lighten the mood. I’m also a bit of a chicken too and if I doubt I’d have the courage to write something as dark as I want to. I kind of have a hard time writing that kind of thing, I don’t mind reading it, and love it if it leaves me traumatized (does that make me a masachist?) I sort of dabbled in some dark stuff in the original Idiot’s tale but I noticed that whenever I felt I’d written something too dark, I’d make the next chapter a bit silly and light hearted to make up for it... but then I dunno...I freaked a bit and took all those bits out lol. I’d like to have the nouse to unashamedly write something really, really dark at some point.
    16. Do you have trouble taking criticism? Or worse yet, do you have the dreaded bloated ego?
I learn best and fastest from criticism, but I also like to be told what I did that worked, otherwise I get all deflated and think my work is crap and am prone to give up hahaha.
    17. When you write, is there anything that helps? Music? Quiet room? Repairing toaster ovens?
I listen to music first and let movies run in my mind of what I want to write, and then I like a quiet room to write in.
    18. What inspires you?
Good movies with brilliant villains and lately, Brent Weeks. Oh my god, I freakin’ love that man’s books; he is an absolutely freakin’ amazing author. Other than that, pvp used to inspire me to write. I used to be a pvp junkie and spent most of my game time in the battle grounds. That’s where the idea of Erandil originally came from. There used to be this bloody blood elf rogue who used to wait for me and kick my arse all the time and he would LAUGH while he stabbed me and then blow me a kiss just before he landed the killing blow. Can you believe that? What an arse! Lol.
    19. Lastly, how would you sum up your fanfiction experiences and yourself as a writer?
Um... writing fanfiction has been all good. It’s a good, cheap hobby (if time consuming lol) and I’ve learned heaps about writing from it and have made some really good net friends from it as well. I don’t know how I’d summarize myself as writer though. I’ve never really given it much thought hahaha...um...I’m still a fledgling?
    20. Tag some friends, because they'll have you for it.
    Haha ok ...
