With the way the upgrade worked, and how everything changed, the cookies stored for the board ALSO changed. So, if you are having problems staying logged in, you have to clear your browser cache and history, close the browser, reopen the browser and log in. That should correct any difficulties because the old cookie will be overwritten with the new one. If you are using Internet Explorer, you may have to do this more than once. Also, I would restart the machine as well, to ensure clearing everything. No need to do it for Firefox, it's got a much cleaner function for clearing cookies.

Sure, they can be restored. It's a matter of my editing your file. However, given that there were problems with the calculations algorithms before(which is WHY I had to run utilities specific to the store), I'd also ask that you explain to me how you accumulated so many points when the thing was set up to grant x points for x actions. I can also point out to you what happened with my own account, maybe a month ago or so. Three days, no posts, no topics, and I accrued 25,000 points. Open points, not bank points. Obviously, something was very wrong. Also, please bear in mind that this was a MAJOR forum upgrade. There are over 30 versions between this one and what was here before. The table structure is different, the scripts entirely rewritten for the board itself. That the points even existed after the upgrade was a bit of a surprise. It's the only modification pre upgrade that actually had ANY kind of data that came forward with the board upgrade. I EXPECTED (and posted that) that ALL prior board modifications would be LOST entirely. For the store, the only part of it that correctly transferred forward with the upgrade was the member bank points.

I've enabled the ability to rate topics in a few of the forums. The Art Room, part of the Beta section (where it was planned to have it enabled once the upgrade was done), and will be doing it in the Fan Fiction section as well.

Some other things that would be helpful, if you guys don't mind... 1. If you remember what items you've used, approximate cost, and what they DID. PM me the item with all that information. This will help me get the store rebuilt. 2. If you encounter any bugs while using it, post them in the bug tracker. That way, I'll know what to look for insofar as asking the modification author what can be done to correct it. Thanks.

Sure, I can adjust that setting now, not a problem.

Who says it's not appropriate? I think it's FUNNY.

Whatever was in your old bank account will be accessible once you create a new bank account. As I said earlier, part of the problem with the points was that the tables were accumulating them in an odd fashion. I actually accumulated points without posting for awhile (for about 3 days, maybe a month ago), until I compacted that table again. So, the only way to ensure that everyone had even remotely the points they were supposed to have was to run a utility that recounted everything. Once you create your new account (and this applies to anyone who had a "bank account" before) pm me and I will adjust the deposit fee so that it doesn't actually cost you points.

When's the last time you tried sending an email? There is a flood control enabled, of fifteen minutes. If you tried within that fifteen minutes of trying to send a mail, you have to wait, and then try again. I sent one to you, did you get it? Rechecked all the options, and you should be able to mail via the board.

when's the last time you tried it? Some members can set it so that they DON'T get emails via the board. Do a test email to me via my profile pls, and let me know exactly what the board tells you.

I'm VERY familiar with the books, and yes, this definitely covers much of everything that's been published and/or is known of the two There are some other outside resources I really should post that I think everyone might like as well, if they don't have 'em, like the Encyclopedia of Arda for example

It's no problem. Been dying to do this anyway. This version is SO much better than the old one.

I ended up fighting the head cold from hell, which naturally triggered a severe bronchitis episode (which I'm STILL dealing with) and feeling sick in general. ugh. Oh yah, did I mention the upgrade which SHOULD have gone rather smoothly but didn't?? So on top of feeling horrible, I got to beat my head against a wall while I kept working at it to make the damn thing WORK.

If you have questions about how to use forum features, pm me and I'll send you instructions. At some point (after I finish modding the thing) I'll actually put up some tutorials for some of the more advanced features for new users.

Have You Ever Written A Walkthrough / Guide?

Not only that, the tables weren't working quite right before, so when I ran a utility to make it so that your points matched your posts, that is what you see now.
-
First question is which email address are you sending to?
-
no prob I appreciate the help in troubleshooting and working out the kinks.

As to why it's generating that error (I got it as well) that I don't know yet. Yes, it's a temp thing while I wait for the file that has all the old data in it so I can duplicate what was there. I don't even remember what the icon WAS for that thing, really. But, that's all in the file I'll be getting later. In any case, I'll dink around with it a bit some more, then I gotta hit the rack....work thirds tonight.

LOL I know it, but I don't use mine, so may as well use 'em to help get this fixed.
